"Make me, Channing. Make me fall. Push me, shove me, just make sure I get there.” I shout at him, taking a step back. His eyes clash with mine. I read the challenge there, making me take another step back.
He stalks the few steps to me and grabs my arms slamming his forehead down on mine, “I’ll make you.” His lips skim against mine as he continues to speak, “And I’ll be falling right there with you.”

Paisley Vaughn grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. After finding her mother dead from an overdose, Paisley and her baby sister are shipped off to live with her maternal grandparents.

She always knew they were rich, she just didn’t realize how rich they were. Now she’s being forced to go to a prestigious high school. One where the tuition is more money then she’s ever seen.

Thinking these rich kids are going to be snobbish and rude, she’s surprised to find the Vaughn name means she’s untouchable. Well unless your name is Channing Southerland.

Paisley has to navigate her new life and all the new people in it. While her mother might have lied about her grandparents, no one is lying about Channing. He’s beautiful, mean, arrogant, and turning her on.

Before long a war is fought, leaving Paisley wondering if she’ll be ruined or made. Though she might just fall irrevocably in love.

I live in southern Arkansas with my husband and young daughter. There is also an insane Boston Terrier running around. I've always been a lone wolf and find my friends in books. I started writing at a young age and I haven't stopped since. Most days you can find me either glued to my laptop or my kindle. My first novel, This Beautiful Thing was an Amazon best seller for 11 weeks and a year later I'm still tickled to see people enjoy it. I may not be a huge seller but I have the best fans ever and I thank God everyday for every single one of them.

This was my first book by Amanda Heath and it didn't leave a great impression. I found myself skimming the last 30% just to get it over with. This book kind of reminded me of Tijan's Fallen Crest High. New girl comes to town and she automatically becomes part of the in-crowd. No one will touch her and of course she catches the eye of the guy everyone wants.

I couldn't stand Paisley. She was full of herself, annoying and a jealous psycho. If Channing so much as talked to another girl, she'd flip out. It drove me nuts. Then she supposedly took care of her sister Bebe and was like a mom to her. But the second she gets to her grandparent's house, she never sees her. She was so self-centered.

Channing was also a jealous psycho. His reaction to Paisley at the beginning was bizarre - hating her for really no reason but then screwing her on the hood of her car. I couldn't stand the two of them together - the instalove and 'baby this' and 'baby that'. They acted like immature five year olds at certain points and then at others like horny 30 year olds. The setting seemed more appropriate for college students rather than high school students.

Overall, I can't even find anything redeeming about this book. Even writing this review is annoying me all over again.

That was unexpectedly good!!! I didn't see it coming...

It was extremly delightful to read it!!!!

Oh, Bloody Hell!!! I actually enjoyed it more than too much!!!

Paisley grew up difficult... She was living in an awful house with an awful addicted mother and a little baby sister. Her mother didn't give a damn about her daughter and Paisley was took care her sister all by herself. Their life sucked!!! Until one day, when she was returning home from school found her mother dead. And just like that her life started to change...
Apparently her mother was coming from a wealthy old family, which took her and her sister under their protection!!! And just from nowhere Paisley acquire lots of money, a big family, a big house, new school, new friends and... Channing!!!

Channing was tall, sexy, handsome, arrogant and emotionless.

He doesn't speak too much, but when he decided to talk he says mean and ugly things... which made Paisley go mad and fight back in this shitty war that he had open against her....

The sensual tension between them were so damn hot!!!

But both of them insist that nothing's going on between them!!!

The people who surrounds them they are one by one!!! They were all of them enjoyable!!!
But i will not talk about them because they are coming in the next books!!!

Whoa!!! Once again!!!!!

2.5 MAYBE 3 MAKE ME STARS.

I have conflicting thoughts about this book, on the one hand the storyline held my attention and there was some highlight-worthy scenes that made me smile. On the other hand there was editing issues, obvious mistakes and some of the content was cringe worthy embarrassing. I never felt like giving the story up, but it wasn't a book that stands out from the rest.

Full review to come, maybe ...

I FREAKING LOVE CHANNING SOUTHERLAND,

When I open the door, Channing is standing there. My breath hitches and my stomach clenches.
He put his sunglasses back on, so I can’t see what he’s thinking. He never says a word, but he moves
the hair from my shoulder. My chest flutters at the light touch and my palms get sweaty. He leans over
it, placing a sweet kiss there. It’s like he’s trying to kiss my booboo better. I think I might swoon.

It seems as if we kissed for hours but I’m sure it was twenty minutes. He lets go first, lifting his
lips from mine and placing a kiss on my forehead. I continue to stare up at him, wondering what the
hell I’m supposed to do here. Then he takes that thought from me, by moving my face with his finger
back to the screen. “Watch the movie, baby,” he whispers next to my ear.

What a crock of shit!!! I didn't finish it but I'm going to give it 2 stars. Even though this author can't write for shit, she can make up a good story. The idea of this story is good but she adds way to much shit that doesn't need to be there, she makes problems in the relashionship that really didn't need to be there. It just made paisley come across as a childish idiot. She tryed to make Channing into a moody, sexy lost soul, in stead he was more anoying and i would have told that dude to go take his face for a shit a long time ago.

Like I said, the idea of the story was good but she was no good at writing or telling it. It was childish and down right hard to keep reading the endless shit rolling down my iPad screen.

She contradicts herself over and over again and that really annoyed me. She forever keeps saying "Channing never smiles, only like once a week," yet every two or three pages she says "Channing giggles,"<----- hold the fuck on, how the fuck do you giggle if you can't smile. He only smiled yesterday so how the fuck is he giggling three times the next day???? "He reads my message and bursts out laughing," WTF he doesn't just laugh, he BURSTS out laughing.. WHAT? HOW? HE CANT SMILE FOR FUCK SAKE!!!!! ARRR

"I know he doesn't want anyone to know we are together and how he feels about me because he doesn't like people staring at him," two pages later "We all know how he feels about me," NO, NO WE DONT BECAUSE YOU TOLD US TWO FUCKING PAGES AGO THAT NO ONE KNOWS!!! MAKE YOUR GOD DAMB MIND UP WOMAN!!

I could go on all day with this shit but it's making me mad, so I won't.

I can't even begin to stress about how mad I am right now. I read one good book and think I'm out of my book flunk, but no. I happend to come across one good book and now it seems I need to fill my time with endless bullshit like this till a good author brings me my next fix :( crys uncontrollably.

This was a sweet book, but it really needed to be professionally edited. There were far more typos than I'm used to seeing in books, including the misuse of words that actually affected my ability to understand some sentences (use of "me" instead of "him", etc.). The writing was amateurish at parts, but that did add to the authenticity of the narration--it felt like it was written by a teenager. Though if I had to read about Channing's "amazing" eyes one more time I probably would have quit reading.
2.5 stars rounded up because of the cute story.

⭐️⭐️

I debated on should I give this book 3 stars or 2, but I realized I’m thoroughly annoyed with Make Me so it will be 2 stars then. There’s so many things wrong with this, mainly the lack of common sense and realism. First of all that bugged me was how Paisley seemed to accept her “new family” off the bat. Like how she immediately referred to her grandfather as “Papaw.” It seemed so out of character of her to give such an endearing nickname to someone she just met, considering how standoffish and guarded she is because of her upbringing.
Ever since I met them, I’ve been rolling what they say off my chest. I don’t understand half of it. Not that I want to. My life is complicated enough without their input.

Also, I noticed she seemed to love to act as if she was a better person than these “rich people” she JUST met literally 2 days ago. Sounds judgmental to me.

“I thought maybe you were just after the money, but I’ve come to notice, you don’t care about that.”

What made Channing came to this conclusion? What made him think that Paisley wasn’t in it for the money? He literally knew nothing about her to already know what her intentions were. She arrived not two days ago and she already bought a new car and “expensive” clothes. Those actions could be warranted as in it for the money. How did he know that she wasn’t in it for the money when she did everything to prove that theory correct? Lol.

“You need to stay away from me. I can’t keep you away from my friends. I wish I could, but even I don’t have that much power.” He takes his index finger and pulls it down my cheek, making me close my eyes. My breathing was already labored but it picks up more speed now. “Like I said, stay away from me. Don’t talk to me. Don’t look at me. And definitely don’t harbor any fantasies about me.”

Bro what? You’re literally the one chasing after her. She ignored you but you decided to stroke her cheek? Make it make sense. It occurred to me right here that maybe the author intended to make Paisley and Channing’s relationship similar to that of Edward and Bella from the infamous Twilight saga books. In Edward’s case, it made sense for him to tell Bella to get away from him because he was a vampire and he could kill her. What possible reason made Channing tell Paisley to get away from him when she wasn’t even chasing him to begin with. Bro, she was walking away but HE stopped HER. Make it make sense please.

Carly likes to say I’m a contradiction, seeing as I like to bake and work on cars. I told her I think its wrong to base such actions on gender. So what I like to work on cars? They are awesome. And so what if my cupcakes melt in your mouth and leave you wanting more. I’m a chick, and I’m proud of my hobbies.

Very “i’m not like other girls”-esque.

“You shouldn’t have been out here in an itty bitty bikini. Guys get ideas about that you know. Anything could have happened.”

So, Paisley got mad because at Channing because he was watching her swim like a creep in her own house and then he said that. Bruh YOU are in HER house—without permission, may I add—, not the other way around. Even if she were to swim naked, it did not warranted for his creepy stalking.

And that was only 41% into the book. I can’t even. Both Channing and Paisley are such shallow characters without a functioning brain between the two of them. Even more, I am SO tired of reading how smoky Channing’s eyes are. The author used that word every time to describe him. It was beginning to look like she was out of words to describe the mysterious Hero of the book. I am so done.

UPDATE: Changed my mind. This is 1 star through and through.

0/10 worth the read.

Welcome to Paisley Vaugh's life the girl who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks.

Paisley's Mum's new boyfriend deals in heroin, so right now it's her drug of choice..

Paisley arrives home from school to find her Mum lying on her side on the couch, her left arm is hanging off the side with a rubber tube tied around her arm. The needle and spoon are lying on the floor, her dark green eyes are open and staring lifelessly..

Hours later after they had taken the body away an oldish looking woman turns up on the doorstep..Which turns out to be Paisleys Grandmother..This is where Paisley's life takes a turn for the better and she is offered a life of luxury, a brand new car and her own guest house to live in..

After being introduced to cousins and the likes she meets "A god like creature" There's a quiet intensity about him, that face though, Jesus, beautiful dark brows, ice blue eyes, a perfect nose with wide lush lips, a strong jaw offsets the rest of him..He has messy black spiky hair..

Meet Channing Southerland

Get ready for a bumpy ride with these two, these two have a hate relationship from the get go!!

Channing has two faces which he represents to the world, blank and angry no in between!! He's perfect in the looks department but fails dismally in the attitude department..

Your eyes make me feel things I've never felt
Your smiles make me feel like I could be anyone I want to be
Your body, the way it moves it drives me crazy
I never meant to hurt you
I was afraid of all you make me feel
I tried to fight it
We are both scared, something I can't change
Now I'm asking for a chance
To make you fall for me
I'm fucking consumed by you, You're fucking everywhere

A very different and modern twist on the Snow White fairytale I think. I love Paisley and the fact the she sticks up for herself and her fiery attitude. I love the mystery and coldness that Channing holds except when he's around Paisley. I loved the hot and dirty side of both of these two and I loved Channing's sweet side too. I think all guys could learn a lesson or two from him ;) The chocolate and tablets scene is probably my favourite. The way the author started each and every individual off with a very deep and dark side then changes most of them subtly to something beautiful and almost magical (excuse my cringy-ness) is amazing and it really does seem like a very clever and modern take of Snow White to me. Channing and Paisley started of with a bang but ended up with their own happily-ever-after. I strongly recommend it to fans of YA/NA reads with a hint of dark and alpha-ness. I can't wait to read Royals and Wesleys story now! :D

CHANNING TATUM WHO??? More like Channing freakin' Southerland! Amanda's best work to date! I love reading her books she makes you fall in love with her characters and boy did she make me fall in love with Channing. And normally it takes awhile for me to like the female characters in any book but that wasn't the case with Paisley, girl gots balls! "Look buddy, I may not want all this money, but don't you ever come in here and tell me what to do. If it were taken from me right now, I wouldn't care. The only thing I care about is in that house. My little sister is the only family I know and these people have custody of her. I want to be in her life, and there's nothing you can do to stop me." Channing he's well endowed ladies and well sometimes a girl just can't help herself, "he's got morning wood and let's just say even from here, I can tell he's big. A blush burns over my face before I move my eyes back up his face and let out a shocked gasp. He's looking at me, fully awake. There's a smirk on his full lips and his eyes shine with laughter." He may be tad bit cocky as well, "if you don't want me to take you right here against the cafeteria tables, I suggest you stop toying with me." He whispers right in my ear." He's also possessive when it comes to Paisley, "I don't want you to be with other guys. I know that s*** with Royal was fake, so I'll let that go. I haven't been with another girl since i met you." And when they finally do commit to a damn relationship my panties get more soaked with how he treats her, "then you're mine, baby." And he says the nicest things to make her feel better, "baby, you can kick me in the nuts and you still wouldn't keep me from sleeping next to you." Isn't that sweet? There are times he needs to put Paisley in her place when she's not sure which way is up, "yes Paisley. You're my effing girlfriend. Get used to it. You'll have that title until I put a ring on your finger." Yeppers I'll be getting me this in paperback.

A very quick read.

I'm so pissed right now, because this book had so much potential. I honestly have no idea how it has a 4.04 rating. I've read MUCH better books with lower ratings.

I personally wouldnt recommend the book to anyone. It needs to undergo more proofreading.

The grammar was awful. Half of the time, I had to reread the same line numerous times to understsnd.

I liked the storyline a lot (the only reason I kept on reading it because I wanted to know what would happen).

The book was rushed. It absolutely pissed me off, because the author didn't explore Paisley and Channing's relationship. I wish the authornadded more information about Paisley's father. The book spanned from senior hear into summer. The only focused points in the story was a few days in school, a few parties, and in her living quarters. There were a lot of character relationships that could've been more thorougly explored. Like with Brody and Kellan, Rachel and Royal.

The ending was absolutely awful. It ends with a "cliffhanger" so you can read the next book in the series....

If this book had more meat packed on, then it would've been MUCH better.

I have no idea how the author made this crap of a book sooo damn good. i actually ended up liking it a lot. The characters where high school students but the acted like juniors in college, the drama was endless, and the hot scenes where too hot for the two seventeen years old students. smh. BUT!!! i think that why i liked it, because it was not what i was expecting from a "ya" book.

I really enjoyed the plot of this novel, I really did... however, because there is always a however, I didn't feel the writing was particularly great... though the storyline was more than good enough to make up for some of the short comings in the writing.

All in all, I enjoyed it!

At seventeen, Paisley is responsible for her 2-year-old sister since her drug addict mother doesn't seem to care for either of them. When her mom dies, she and her sister go to live with her very rich maternal grandmother. Paisley is immersed into a family with people that care, a school with bitter rivalries, and a conflict between her two grandmothers. Then there is Channing - incredibly handsome, but emotionally frigid. He seems to hate her, and yet they are drawn to each other like moths to a flame.

This book could have used some better editing but was a decent story despite the errors. Channing kind of reminded me of Christian Grey in that he was basically emotionless until Paisley showed up and she slowly began to thaw him. If you like stories where the characters turn their passionate hate into passionate love, then you might like this one.

Sometimes we just all need some good old fashioned escapism. And that is what I found "Make Me" to be. We've got Paisley and her baby sister, BeeBee, living in squalor with their drug addicted mother. Paisley is trying to finish her last year of High School and waiting till she turns 18 so she can become "emancipated" and get the hell out with her baby sister. She's been placed in the role of being an adult child and mother and has learned to count on only herself.

Quite a bit of drama going on in this novel for let's face it, it's a mixture of Twilight heavy angst without the paranormal, The A List, and Gossip Girl all wrapped up into one Cinderella type story.

After Paisley walks in and finds her mother dead of an overdose, she is literally faced with her grandmother she never knew about, a life she never knew existed, and more money than King George. She and her little sister are whisked away into a wealthy Twilight Zone.
[image error]Make Me photo cinderellagodm_zps67ff34c6.jpg

Paisley is thrown into MONEY and a life that is foreign to her but she takes that "take no prisoners" attitude and gives as good as she gets.

Her first day of school sort of reminds me of this:
[image error]Make Me photo Gossip-Girl-season-3-promotional-Photo-for-Danielle-gossip-girl-31797777-1680-1050_zps5fed79e8.jpg

Total hotness and bitchiness and Channing fucking Southerland.
[image error] photo maxresdefault_zpsc8895fd2.jpg

These two clash from the start but in typical high school fashion they hate that they want :):) And they do get what they want.
I have to say that the lifestyle these 17 yrs old lived was far beyond my realm of reality :) But what the hell? That's fiction!

Paisley and Channing both have to learn some tough lessons about those who claim to love you and protect you and there is a twist thrown in near the end with the grandparents.

As I said before, this is more of escapism for me. And I want to also say that I felt the author could have delved more in depth into so many of the love/hate relationships going on but I'm thinking those are left for the future books.

There is a cliffhanger and I think I know who "it" is but will have to wait and see :):)

All in all, a fun escape into another world Gossip Girl kind of book!

The premise for this story is not a new one. Paisley has grown up with a druggie mum who couldn't care less about her or BeeBee, her sister. Paisley comes home one day and finds her mum has died from an overdose. Almost immediately she finds someone at her door who says she is her grandmother, her mums mum. She demands both Paisley and BeeBee leave to live with her as that is where they belong. Paisley soon discovers she is rich due to a legacy left by her father.

This is where the story got a little boring for me. In comes a good looking guy in the form of Channing. He and Paisley take an instant dislike to each other, yet we all know they will end up together in the end.

As the story goes on it seems to go too quickly, and is a bit unrealistic at times. The way both Paisley and Channing seem to go off the rails at times just doesn't ring true a lot to me.

There were also quite a lot of grammar and spelling issues throughout the book which, although it didn't ruin the story, certainly detracted from it for me.

Don't get me wrong, the story will appeal to others more than it did me, as other reviews definitely show. Unfortunately this just wasn't a story which drew me in as much as others I have read.

The endings a cliffhanger, and I won't lie, it does make me interested in reading the next book. But all in all this book was a little disappointing to me.

I'm currently reading this for the second time, because I loved it when I first read it. But I didn't have a review.. I kept thinking about this book so I'm re-reading!

There was one scene I kept thinking about, the one with the Camaro in the rain..

So I loved this the first time, I enjoyed it now the second time as well. But there were a few things that worked on my nerves.. Like the jumping from this to that, the constant trying to explain everything. I get it and I love it that I can follow, but sometimes it's just a tid bit to much.

I love the enemies to lovers because I'm a huge fan of enemies! Not in real life, nope!!

Ugh... Horrible reading. I think an average 17-year-old can probably form a bit more complicated sentences than the ones in this...eerm.. book?
Feels like it's written by or for a 6-year old.
Story could be OK but the text is so chopped, there's no flow and it's just embarrassing. Couldn't finish reading, although I tried, I really did.
