Winter: Cricket and Grey

Rate this book
Cricket Winters is a second generation apothecary in the rural Willamette Valley. American culture has just kind of... wound down. Times are hard, and most people don't have much.

Her parents have both died, and burying her father means actually digging the grave. At the grave side she meet Grey, the mysterious man whom her father charged with her safekeeping.

She knocks down an FBI agent, gets over an old love, makes a deal with a gangster, and becomes the target of a very scary killer.

Set in the not to distant future, Winter Cricket and Grey, tells the story of our world gone sideways. It isn’t a an unrecognizable world. But one in which the current struggles of every day people have gotten worse - the lack of available healthcare, the corruption of government authorities who bully the weak and religious zealots who want to return to a world where women are property. The struggles are woven into a story of perseverance, a daughter coming into her own, a good old fashioned murder mystery and a love story.
