Jacob Ellie McNamara asks me to promise her one thing. We can’t tell her brother about us. Seeing as I’ll do anything for a taste of Ellie, I agree. Neither of us counted on me wanting more. One night will never be enough. I might have enough money to buy anything, but not love. I’ll fight for Ellie though. She’s priceless.
Ellie Jacob Taylor is used to getting what he wants. He’s a billionaire who need only snap his fingers and women come running. Not me. To spite my cheating ex, I take the trip we planned to Vegas. Except I didn’t count on my ex doing the same. With his new girlfriend. Awkward doesn’t even cut it. Out of nowhere, Jacob sweeps in and makes me an offer I can’t refuse. Now, the lights are out, and we’re alone.

This is such a great book! I truly enjoyed reading it! It's a captivating, steamy & moving story. Ellie & Jacob, steal your heart from the very first pages to the last. They say what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. But they don't say what happens when your caught in a blackout, with a gorgeous man. Ellie & Jacob, made the pages sizzle. I loved everything about this Must Read Story!!
What Happens In Vegas Doesn't Always Stay In Vegas ❤🔥❤🔥
I'm so happy to see Ellie get her story and what a story she has!!!! We met Ellie in her brother Aidan's story 'Just This Once' from the Last Frontier Lodge series. Ellie is in Vegas using the room booked before she found her now ex cheating with her best friend. When said ex and new girlfriend show up to use the same room Ellie couldn't be more humiliated. Her luck changes when a handsome man wraps his arm around her and saves face, but for some reason he looks familiar. Jacob Taylor, high tech billionaire recognized Ellie as Aidan's sister and was on his way to her when he overheard her conversation with her ex. Making it seem they were together he put her ex in his place and gave Ellie a room in his suite. Knowing Jacob worked in security with her brother she had no choice and agreed. Jacob was attracted to Ellie from before but as he got to know her her was taken in by her innocent personality and her stubbornness not to take advantage of his wealth. The spark between them was enough to set Vegas on fire but Jacob was out of Ellie's league, or so she thought. When Vegas is doomed to a blackout Ellie and Jacob give into their attracting with a promise of one night. One taste of Ellie's passion is not enough for Jacob but can he convince Ellie otherwise. When part of Jacobs wealthy world intrudes on their bubble Ellie cuts ties and heads home. Jacob can't let her slip out of his life without a fight, even if it's with Aidan. Can Jacob convince Ellie they belong together and make her his forever??? J. H. Croix is a fabulous writer giving us stories of characters with big hearts and a lot of soul. As you read a J. H. Croix story you are pulled into their world and suffer their hurts but you also live their happiness. I'm a huge fan and have read each and every story from the beginning and always eager for the next. A definite one click and a Happy Ever After. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and purchased a copy for my favorite collection. Looking forward for the next series.
Las Vegas, where anything can happen, including falling in love! Jacob is a tech billionaire in town for a conference. He started his online security company after his sister was killed by a prestigious dr(stalker) she met online. Ellie decided to fly in when her tickets were non refundable after a break up with her boyfriend, she’d found naked photos of her friend on his phone! Well over Wayne, she is shocked when he shows up in Vegas with his girlfriend, telling Ellie to get out of their room. Seeing this interaction from across the room, Jacob comes to her rescue! “Reminding” her they have the penthouse suite, just let her ex have the sh*tty room downstairs! There is legit sparks and chemistry between Jacob and Ellie. A blackout in Vegas has them letting down their guard and entertaining the idea of something more! However, doubt creeps in an Ellie flees back to Seattle and the race is on to win her heart! Loved this book, check it out today!
I always love revisiting with Ms. Croix’s characters. Ellie is Aidan’s sister, from “Just This Once,” and Jacob is a work friend of Aidan’s. They meet by chance in Las Vegas and Jacob saves Ellie from an embarrassing encounter with her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend (who is also her ex-friend). There is an instant attraction between them. When all of the lights go out in the Strip, their attraction sets the sheets on fire! I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.
Part of the Blackout anthology. Ellie is betrayed by her boyfriend just before the holiday of a lifetime they had booked together. Rather than it going to waste, Ellie decides to go alone. Only problem is Wayne has had the same idea.
Ellie is saved by handsome stranger Jacob Taylor who decides to help her out.
I have read all of the Alaska series by J.H. Croix and she has written another winner with this book. Her characters are well developed and easy to like . I would recommend her books to anyone who likes steamy romance, friends and family.
this is a steamy story about what happens when she catches him with her best friend and has nonrefundable tickets and room, but guess who else shows up , will she have to leave or does someone else help her out. a good story i was given a copy of the book but this is an honest review
Another great book in a great series. I'm really enjoying this series and all the characters and stories. I loved Ellie and Jacob's story. These two didn't know what hit them when loved showed up. A captivating read.
Another stunning book well written and a great cast of characters couldn't put it down love this writer have read all mine now in this series and loved every single word
I can’t believe the end has come! It wasn’t my favorite of the series, but it was still a good read! Just Us was the ninth and final book in J.H. Croix’s Last Frontier Lodge Series. It was an instant attraction, fun and fast paced read.
Ellie decided to take the trip she was supposed to go on with her ex. Unfortunately, so did he. To make matters worse, he was with the new girlfriend! Luckily Jacob was there to save the day.
When Jacob saw Ellie in distress, he couldn’t stay away. What he didn’t bargain for was the feelings he started to have for her. Was it just Vegas that held the magic or was there more?
The fast paced, “what’s going to happen next” feel kept my interest. Even though they had insta attraction, their connection was on point! I am sad to see this series end, but am looking forward to her new series coming out soon!!
Real good read and ending to this series. I enjoyed these characters and the plot of this book. Glad to have HEA's throughout this series. Looking forward to reading more from this talanted author.
Jacob is a tech security billionaire in his late twenties. Ellie, who is approximately the same age, is a quirky artist who makes a sparse living selling her textile creations both online and in art galleries. The two of them previously knew each other tangentially because of Jacob's close working relationship with her older brother, a former SEAL who owns a security business in Seattle where they all three live.
Ellie connects with Jacob by lucky chance in Las Vegas, and the attraction that flares between them is instant and intense. But the real emotional fireworks begin when there is a sudden, total blackout on the Vegas Strip, and they spend a wildly passionate night together.
This is an extremely enjoyable romantic novella told from the dual point of view of Jacob and Ellie. I had previously encountered Ellie in the third book in this series, in which her older brother is the starring hero.
I really liked and admired both of these highly sympathetic protagonists, and the sex scenes between them are both combustible and extremely tender and romantic.
For a fast, fun romantic read, this terrific novella is an excellent choice.
I received an advanced copy and am voluntarily leaving a review Ellie went to Vegas after she found her boyfriend cheating with her best friend. She had non-refundable tickets but the motel room was put on his credit card. She never expected him to show up the same weekend she was there. When he confronts her and tells her she has to get out of the room she is not sure what she is going to do. OMG I wanted to punch her ex and her ex best friend so bad. All of a sudden Jacob is right behind her saying she forgot that he rented the penthouse suite for them. Ellie and Jacob have meet once before at a function she was at for her brother Aiden. Jacob is a friend/business associate of Aiden's. Jacob has always thought Ellie was beautiful but she was always with someone the one time they met so he left her alone. Now all bets are off. With Jacob being a standup kind of guy will he agree to Ellie's deal of keeping them a secret from her brother? Will this be just a weekend fling or will Jacob be able to convince Ellie this is more than just lust?
