Really enjoyed it, I'm a fan of those space adventure stories and movies where there's a lot of tactical thinking between those in the battles and this book is full of that kind of thing. I'm familiar with this series from back when it was a serialized audio show and couldn't wait between episodes. Now I find myself doing the same thing for the book, really looking forward to the next one next year.

There are the occasional mistakes where it looks like a spellcheck corrected a word into a word that might be spelled right but isn't the word meant to be in the sentence and it seems to get more common the further you go in the book. But if you find yourself getting frustrated and nitpicking because of that, you're cheating yourself out of a great story. Well worth the read.

A fun romp of a space opera, featuring as the two main characters a young Lieutenant in the Imperial Forces, and a female pirate captain. The duty-and-rule-bound Lt must learn to think outside the box when faced with political reality, and the pirate is on a quest for power. A few points of logic I had questions about, and a fair number of improbabilities, but if you're willing to suspend disbelief it's a fun, suspenseful, exciting read. Will look for the sequel.
