I have found it very easy to get into Evie’s Federal Protection Agency series. Her characters are compelling, the stories are relevant to today, the victims are heart-breaking, and the law enforcement action in the stories is important and far-reaching. With each book, I learn more about the dark underbelly of human trafficking, realizing too that this is just the tip of the iceberg, and the “people” behind it are heartless and without value, deserving to be eradicated in whatever way possible.

In this story, Clay was kidnapped and trafficked at the age of 14, spending 4 years as a captive. I was unclear as to whether he was actually released because of being too old, or whether he escaped, as some things said seemed contradictory at the time. However he escaped that life, he wasn’t much better off, having been without any schooling, abused and unable to trust, with no “usable skills” to try to support himself in legal ways, and without any form of identification. Logan, an FPA agent, was sent to try to locate him for Clay’s brother, Jason, who had never given up looking for him.

When Logan located Clay, it was difficult to get Clay to listen to him, let alone trust him, but eventually a way was found, and Logan drove Clay cross country to his brother. Spending days together in the car, and with Logan’s calm demeanor and non-threatening ways, Clay let down his walls a bit and began to trust this man, the first time to trust in the last ten years. There was an understanding between them, and a developing physical attraction, but Logan was very careful to keep interactions non-threatening and platonic.

Once Clay was returned to his brother, Logan left, but the two kept in touch on a regular basis, as the trust Clay felt for Logan allowed him to reach out and talk to a sympathetic and understanding person who grounded him and “saw” him as who he was. With Logan, Clay felt like he was becoming a more worthwhile person, good as a friend, but never good enough for something more. And even though the two were attracted to each other, Clay was nowhere in any headspace to go beyond friendship. The two continued their frequent phone calls over the next two years, and in the last six months of that time, they were acknowledging their mutual attraction and working to go to the next level. They do reach a HFN relationship, but the book ends, not on a cliff-hanger, more a promise of a continuation into the next book as the identification of one of the men behind the traffickers has been identified. I would expect Logan and Clay to play significant roles in the next book (I sure hope there is one, I want to see at least one of the traffickers caught and the victims get some justice.)

I have read most of this series and each book draws me in every time. If you like action and hunting down human traffickers and their victims, with different agents finding their forever person as a bonus, you might want to read this series. Each one can be read as a standalone, but they are great in order, too, as they just keep building up layers and adding suspense.

Logan works for Federal Protection Agency as a detective. He's caught a suspect and is quite satisfied at the moment. AS he's relaxing he gets a call from an old friend who wants to see him. So he arranges to meet at 6 with food. They meet and he find out enough info to know the one trafficking ring he couldn't find much less bring down two years is still around. He is needed to track down a young man who was kidnapped a decade ago. When he gets a club in Baton Rouge he goes in to talk to the owner. He learns the boy was there five years before and it looked like he was running. So she told him to disappear. She tells him he booked a ticket to San Francisco. Looks like it's going to take a bit longer because his jurisdiction didn't extend that far.
Clay goes by the name Blue Steele and was kidnapped a decade ago and is now in or around Baton Rouge. He made it to San Francisco years ago and is hustling the streets to pay rent. When he was let loose after he got to old for the traffing ring he went as far as he could away from his brother who still lived in Maryland. He kept up with him via his social media account but wouldn't make contact. He wasn't the person he was before he was kidnapped. He didn't think he'd be accepted back. Now he stands on street cornors. Then he gets a call for a meeting in a motel room. When he gets there the man tells him his brother is looking for him after calling him by his real name. He bolts.
Later Logan finds his address and has him listen to a recorded message from his brother. He tells Logan he wants to go home. So Logan calls the office to get more time off. Then he and Clay set off a long road trip.
The trip is made difficult because Clay keeps expecting Logan to try something. That's just how life is. Slowly he and Logan talk and some of the tension eases. But then it took one man saying the one word that broke him. Logan saw him go catotonic and got rid of the guy. Clay is finally letting go of some of anguish and anger and fear he's harbored for years.
Then Clay give Logan the first clue as to how the kidnappers worked. Then Logan is the hunt for the kidnappers and learns how they do it.
Will he find them? Will he be able to really help Clay?
A story that will have the reader's heart twisting in pain for the storyline.

Wow what a book I seriously couldn’t put this one down. Clay had been kidnapped from his home when he was 14 by a human trafficking ring. And his life was a living hell until he was 18, and they decided he was too old for their clientele and they let him go. Clay felt ashamed so although he kept an eye on his brother through social media, he refused to go home. He lived the life that he only Understood due to the abuse. But his brother Jason had other ideas and continued to look for Clay. Even hiring private detectives to find team and this is where we meet detective Logan who we met in previous books in this series and he is part of the Baton Rouge federal protection agency task force. He is asked if he could find Clay. And that’s exactly what he does.
It’s fair to say, the clay doesn’t trust Logan to begin with. once Logan shows a video of his brother, Jason, asking him to come home to let him know he is safe. Clay agrees to go back to Maryland and stay with his brother. It takes over a week to travel across America as Clay had no ID so couldn’t fly and in that time they both formed a bond. Clay learnt that Logan was not like any of the man he dealt with. There was respect, there was understanding and there was patience, and he never once put clay in a position where he felt unsafe
This book takes its time. Nothing happens. In an instant we watch their friendship, grow until they both admit to what they’re feeling, which is massive for clay. Logan is such a gentleman. My heart hurt for Clay. He had been through so much pain, i’m watching him go through the panic attacks, the self doubt and the low self-worth was so hard to read, but then my heart melts because he has Logan and he has his brother Jason and his husband, Patrick. I need the next book to find out what happens in the investigation that Logan is taking part in!
This is a soul, destroying story but there also good in the task force. Another fantastic news Evie Riley.

This is book 9 in the Federal Protection Agency series and the first one that I have read. I just have to "wow". The book packs a powerful punch. This is the story of Logan and Clay. Logan is a Detective and part of the Federal Protection Agency task. He is based in Baton Rouge with the mandate to take down those that prey on children and even worse, child trafficking rings. It is a never ending battle to cut the head off the snake for the trafficking rings. But that doesn't mean he isn't planning on doing just that. When he is asked for a favour from a good friend, he accepts. One of their clients has spent years trying to find his missing younger brother who was kidnapped years ago. They have a lead and need help tracking it down. Without hesitation, Logan heads out to find him. He finally does in San Francisco. This is their story. Since Clay has no identification, they can't fly back to Maryland. So Logan makes the impulsive decision to drive Clay back home. Slowly during the ride home the two get to know each other a bit. Clay is clinging to Logan as his lifeline as he really doesn't have anything else. This is their story. While it is painful to read as Clay slowly takes back control of his life. Having PTSD and flashbacks makes it harder. But he always can phone Logan for a since of calm. I like that in the book Clay isn't healed in three months. Years of damage are no erased quickly nor without hard work by the survivor. I really like how that was reflected in the book. The book is very well written and easy to read. Though the subject matter will be harder at times so ensure you read the warnings list first. It seems I started this series at the end. At least I have a lot of books left to enjoy.

********** Contains Spoilers**********

I rated this book 4.5 stars, so I rounded it up to 5 stars. I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to the Federal Protection Agency Series. This book covers a lot of heavy topics so please take note of the trigger warnings. This is a beautiful but heartbreaking read. Clay’s journey throughout this book is amazing. I really like how Clay & Logan’s relationship progressed since their book spans a two year period, it felt natural and a healthy pace where Clay’s trauma recovery is concerned. Most of that time they’re in different States but they video chat as friends each night which eventually turns into so much more.

I did notice that there were quite a few more errors throughout this book. I usually don’t pick up on errors easily so I found that it didn’t hinder my reading experience much but I know that some people are extremely bothered by errors. It’s heartbreaking that even though this is a work of fiction I know many people, especially children are trafficked and are never seen again. Logan and the rest of the FPA are one step closer to stopping another child trafficking ring, they now know who the possible ring leader is with Clay’s help but it’s not going to be easy considering who he is. I’m looking forward to reading more from this series as it continues, as well as more books from Evie Riley in the future. I’d recommend this book, series and author to others.

This series has gripped me from the start. Sometimes I have to put the book aside when the story grips me too much. All the evil that has happened to the children en young men, rhe hopeless of never getring truely on top of the the traffickers for the FDA and others. Luckily there is some light in there as well when survivors can make a turn with help and grid. No small feat. Clay and Logan in this story find a way to slowly over years change their dynamic and start to built on their ever growing relationship.
The overarcing story plotline to dismantle traffic ring/ The Bell Ringers is gaining momentum, however I did not get answers on the solution. So I am waiting die the next installment to read what happens on that front.

This is an MM romance with at times scenes that might trigger. I recommend reading in order, but books can be read as srandalone's. In tbat case you will miss a lot off details and background information.

Trigger warnings: child exploitation (mention of), child abductions (on page and mention off), reliving of sexual assaults, violence against MC, home invasion, suicide on page.

This was such a unique read for me, the way that Logan and Clay fall in love is born from one of the darkest spaces but together they show that the right people can help you overcome anything.

Logan is an FBI agent but solving a child trafficking case has always been just out of reach. When he's asked to help find someone who escaped from a life of being trafficked when he got too old Logan knows he can help.

Clay was kidnapped when he was 14 and since escaping that life he's been surviving, checking in on his brother's social media but not feeling like could go home.

Clays brother never gave up on finding him and getting him home is just the beginning of their journey.

This story is so beautiful in the way it shows Clays journey, it's really heartfelt and you're right there wanting him to win and find the light in life. There's a lot of darkness within these words so read the cautions if your don't want to read about child trafficking or sex workers but this book is really well written and I've loved reading about Logan and Clay.

Amazing! Logan, works for the FPA. He is dedicated and determined to save as many children as he can while putting the monsters in jail. As a favor, he goes to San Francisco chasing a lead on the missing brother, Clay who's brother has been looking for him for over 10 years and hired Daz's and Bastian's PI agency. Clay, was kidnapped when he was 14 years old. When Logan sees Clay for the first time the lines between personal and professional merge for the first time. Clay has been surviving on the streets since he was released from the traffickers. This is a hard story. The author brings us into the mind and soul of Clay and we almost feel his pain as he remembers his trauma. Excellent authorship, great flow the adventure and revelations keep you invested in the story. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Logan works for the FPA and is deeply committed to rescuing children and putting criminals behind bars. His determination leads him to San Francisco, where he follows a lead on a missing young man named Clay. Clay was kidnapped at 14 and has been missing for over a decade. His brother has been tirelessly searching for him and enlisted the help of Daz and Bastian’s PI agency. When Logan finally meets Clay, the lines between his professional duty and personal emotions blur for the first time. Clay has been living on the streets since escaping his captors, struggling with the trauma he endured. The story delves into Clay's pain, immersing readers in his emotional journey. Logan is great from start to finish and once I started reading I couldn't put it down. It's a slow build, very emotional reading, and it was great that the author allowed Clay to deal with his trauma and chance to heal.

I loved Logan (Federal Protection Agency Book 9). Logan was doing a favor for Sebastian by looking for Clay. He had been kidnapped and they feared trafficked when he was younger. His brother had never stopped looking for him. Logan was actually able to find Clay and although he didn’t trust him at first, he was able to earn that and bring him home to his brother. Their friendship was important to Clay and although he wanted more he didn’t think he was good enough for Logan. Logan is in law enforcement and determined to bring down traffickers. Good thing Logan wanted Clay as well. There is a long road to their HEA but they will get there. Have some tissues ready. I loved the story and the characters. This is a great series and I would definitely recommend this book.

When a seasoned detective for the FPA is consulted on a private investigator case he’s set on a course that will forever change his life. Logan is tasked with finding a missing person. Clay was abducted as a young teen and his older brother wants only to find him. Logan is asked to assist and is ultimately able to find Clay. Their story is one of triumph and tragedy. Clay has a significant amount of recovery and his bond with Logan helps him through the process. Their love grows over time and organically. But will going after the organization responsible for Clay’s nightmare bring the two men together or destroy the fledgling relationship?
Another solid edition to the series. Clay and Logan are two very special characters and their bond is one that definitely does not start out on the right track. It takes time, trust and a lot of patience for them to find their way.

Logan is a detective with the Federal Protection Agency. Logan is contacted by a friend who needs help finding the brother of one of his clients. Both Logan and his friend take down human trafficking rings. The brother missing is named Clay and was more than likely taken by the ring Logan has been struggling to take down. Logan follows the clue he was given and discovers Clay went to San Francisco. This book is about how Logan helps get Clay back to his brother. Clay seeks comfort and calming from Logan. Clay suffers from PTSD from his time in the trafficking ring. This book is wonderfully written and is realistic in Clay's healing not happening overnight. I really enjoyed this book.

The Federal Protection Agency series continues to deliver hard-hitting, emotional stories, and this installment was no exception. Logan’s mission to find Clay, who was taken at 14 years old. Clay’s journey was filled with pain, and I found myself in tears multiple times. His brother’s unwavering determination to find him was especially moving.
This series tackles real and difficult subjects, and the author does an incredible job of handling them with care. I truly hope there’s a book 10. This ring needs to be taken down, and the FPS men are the ones to do it!

Logan, a detective for the FPA found Clay, a former trafficking victim and brought him home to his brother. In the long car ride home, Clay relived some of the trauma and they bond. It's a love story based on a start of compassion and trauma, trust and support, desire and healing. It makes you cry and empathize but also recognize the bad and the good in the world. It's a slow burn with both finding it hard to speak of their feelings but that makes it all the more realistic. I received a copy of this book through BookSprout and this is my voluntary opinion.

This book will break your heart and put it back together. A story of human trafficking and finding one victim years later. Clay was taken as a child, but his brother Jason never gave up hope. Logan a member of the Federal Protection Agency finds Clay in San Francisco and brings him home. Clay is a mess having lived a very difficult abusive life. Such great characters and a storyline to open your eyes along with your heart.

"Logan" by Evie Riley is Book 9 in the Federal Protection Agency. I have loved all of the books in this series, but this book is next level. The story is hard on the heart. It is so well written that you can feel what the MCs feel. I was pulled in right from the start and did not want to put it down. I am looking forward to more from this author.

Logan is the ninth book in the Federal Protection Agency, each can be read as a standalone but I suggest reading it in order. This is not a great read for you if you have issues with child trafficking, but if that isn't a trigger for you then I highly suggest this, Riley did a great job writing about this. I loved this book, probably my favorite of the series.

Love this series

I was hooked since book 1 with Mason's story and have read them all as I patiently waited for Logan's story. This one kept me hooked right from the start. It didn't go quite how I thought it would but it made sense along the way. I hope we see more of them in future books.

Logan

While the story seemed to take off slowly, a 10 year cold case can’t be solved quickly. This was good and Clay is still recovering by the end. I enjoyed the whole series. It’s well-written. The whole series can be difficult as the trafficking of children is hard to read about. Keep writing!!!

Great book about the effects of child kidnapping. Clay has aged out of the ring and his self -worth is zero. Logan returns him back to his brother where he heals enough to help him with his task force. All of this while the two of them find their HEA!.

I loved this

What a beautiful story from beginning to end. Not the core subject matter of course but the relationship building was just lovely to see. And it felt natural. I also liked all the side characters getting their chance to shine in their own way. Great book!

This book is suspenseful. It's about child trafficking and shows how it affects the lives of the children that are forced into it. The main characters in the book are strong and caring. I really enjoyed this book.

Solid 3

The Romance portion of this book and the character building is good. However, being the plot bunny that I am, the plot is very lacking in my opinion. There's a great build up, but then no real conclusion. I was disappointed in that aspect.
