What a great way to wile away the afternoon! Lots of great stories dark and enticing such a great set of stories recommended to me by other horror readers and writers.
This is a completely amazing little gem of a book. The first thing I loved about it was the dedication. I would have never thought to dedicate a book to my sweet little puppy. Although he is cute enough to have a book of mine just for him. Next I fell in love with the short story aspect. It made me feel like a kid learning to love reading all over again. However this is no book for children. Each story to me to it’s own new thrill of horror. And not just a lame scary movie horror. The type of story that made me shiver and cry as a kid. I love that feeling and being stuck in romances lately, I had forgotten what a real scare was like. I love the cover art and mistook this for a normal novel. I was surprised at how fast I slipped through it. I enjoyed how real all of the tales could be. I feel that it itched at my longing for something truly freaky. I needed that, and at what better time of year then Halloween! The stories really started to take on a twist with cheating boys breaking hearts and women coming out better for it. Again pulling me in because, well, who hasn’t had a crappy relationship? I loved this book and I am grateful to Gina Dickerson and Jenny (Neverland Blog Tours) for letting me take the time to read something new. I feel a renewed faith in finding something new to read. And something that can make me shiver it always a good thing. I totally recommend anyone reading my blog take on this book! It’s a great read!

I always make the fatal mistake of reading books like this late at night in the dark on my Kindle, I should know better by now, I really should! Underleaf is a delightful collection that will take you on a journey through sixteen different stories, each unique and each as spine-chilling as the next, Gina has a great way with words and managed to scare me under my covers several times whilst reading this plus it also made me have that moment at particular scary bits where I drop my Kindle and peer in to the dark expecting a hooded madman to have just turned up in my bedroom, eeeek!
The thing about story collections is sometimes they are not consistent, you get a couple that are great and the rest are mediocre but Gina has managed to keep me reading all the way through by continually pulling more magic out of her hat.
I also forgot to mention the ace little illustrations that head up each new story giving you a humorous taste of whats in store for you!
I've enjoyed this collection and I highly recommend it to you, let me know what you think!

This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Firstly thank you to Jenny and Gina for letting me take part in this blog tour. This is a perfect book tour to be hosting on Halloween.
This books is a collection of 16 short stories.I have to say I've never been a big short story person mainly because I never find them to be enough. I always want more. However Gina has a way of making these stories the perfect length.
There are a mix of themes throughout the stories from scary and twisty to revenge and betrayal. Some of these are pretty scary though and I wouldn't advise reading them before going to sleep.
A few of my were Prevailing Darkness, Perfect girl and Sushi Cake. I don't know why but I was drawn to these stories.
This book was different to my normal reads and it was a refreshing change. Each little story can be read quite quickly. It was great to read in my study breaks this weekend and a perfect Halloweeny read.
This collection of short stories encompasses a wide range of themes, including jealousy, murder, betrayal, and loss. Some of the tales are heartbreaking ("I'm Not You", "Karyn's Discovery"), some are suspenseful or chilling ("Inside Out", "Chosen"), while others end with a surprising and unexpected twist. I must admit there are one or two I wouldn't want to read just before I go to sleep!
