Phillip Kersey finds himself and his hotheaded girlfriend, Stephanie, at a crossroads. He's the singer of the chart-topping rock band, Fury, and they're forever in the studio laying down tracks for their third album. Steph's photography career has exploded. She's always on location and out of his grasp. Tired of Skype dates and stolen weekends, Phillip makes plans to whisk her off to Ireland so he can pop the question.
When Steph returns to the U.K. for the birth of their friends' baby, Phillip finally gets his chance. He's down on one knee when tragedy strikes. Aching hearts cause tempers to flair chaotically out of control. Phillip feels pushed aside and vanishes. Assumptions and accusations follow, and the public fallout between them becomes the stuff of legend.
When fate brings both Fury and Stephanie to a remote Brazilian paradise, the former lovers have no choice but to face each other head on. Will their wildfire chemistry burn down the wall between them, or will the tumultuous pair simply go up in flames?

Rage is book #2 in the Sound Wave series. Book #1 was Fury.
In Fury, Philip and Stephanie were always butting heads. But that’s what happens when 2 people have such an attraction for each other and they do nothing but deny it. They were always at odds. Doing things on purpose to get a rise out of the other. But what happens when fate intervenes and these 2 are stranded at an abandoned cottage with a broke down vehicle? YUP! You guessed it! Book #2 happens…
Philip and Stephanie are navigating their way through their new relationship. Being apart from each other is rough. Stephanie is a photographer, gallivanting across the globe. She is a fiercely independent woman who speaks her mind, yet also manages to bottle everything up on the inside. She is time bomb.
Stephanie doesn’t believe love lasts forever. Her mother left them. So why would anyone else stay with her? Why would she believe that forever is a possibility?
“Their break-up convinced Stephanie that no one could ever stay together. Marriage became a trivial joke to her after that. I’ve been all over the world and heard the confessions of thousands of people. My sister is still the single most jaded person I’ve ever encountered.”
Philip is a rock star, working on Fury’s next big album. He too was a man who had a hard time believing in love. Until Stephanie. He wants Stephanie to be his….forever. And he wants to make it known to everyone.
“Stephanie…I love you. I can’t explain it. I can’t quantify why, so don’t bother asking. I wish to God it weren’t true, but it is.”
When they are together, it’s fireworks. They are explosive.
But, all’s well does not always end well.
“We were doomed from the start. Oil and water.” “More like oil and a blowtorch, if memory serves. We were nothing short of amazing, Stephanie.”
Suggestions to Philip about his upcoming declaration of love to Stephanie fall on deaf ears, and Philip will be Philip…doing things the rock star way.
Fate once again sweeps in. But this time…fate is a bitch.
When things fall apart after, Stephanie takes the easy way out. She shuts people out. She’s selfish. I wanted to crawl into the book and slap the shit outta her at times. One person cannot be this stubborn…can they? Oh. Right…yes they can. Hi, my name is Heather…and I am just as stubborn. HAHA!
But, Philip is not blame free. Rather than stick around and try to coax Stephanie into explaining herself…..he runs. And he runs. And he runs. And he acts like a petulant child who had his hand slapped for sticking it in the cookie jar before dinner. Pfffttt....men...
Fast forward….. 10 Months, 25 Days, 4 Hours, and 13 Minutes later……
Stephanie is on her way to photograph the wedding of Fury’s drummer David to a beautiful Brazilian model. And on her way to a remote island with the one man she dread's seeing. Emotions run wild and Philip and Stephanie find themselves in multiple awkward and tense situations with each other. Hands and lips everywhere they shouldn't be. What would Stephanie's boyfriend think? Shame shame girl....shame shame on you.
When these two FINALLY let their walls crumble down and talk.....a lot of revelations are made. A lot of feelings are worked through. But a lot of time has passed and wounds are being reopened. Can these two figure their shit out and make another go at it? Or the they forever doomed?
I felt so frustrated reading this book. Not necessarily in a bad way....but enough to make me want to yell at my Kindle a few times. Stephanie is kind of your typical "run from everything that is hard" female character. She doesn't talk through anything and throws in her hat as soon as she can. Philip was your typical "over the top, my way or the highway" rock star. He wanted to make a spectacle of his relationship and he wanted to show his love for Stephanie. But these two didn't take the time to get to know each other, and ultimately, it was their demise.
I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review. This is book #2 in The Sound Wave Series. This book can be read as a stand alone, but I think you would enjoy the story so much more if you read the first book before this one.
I gave this book 5 stars. I actually thought really hard about this. I was going to give it 0 stars for the way it made me feel!! I wanted to throw my kindle across the freaking room, UGH I was so mad at Stephanie. She just got under my skin like no ones business. BUT Kudos to the writer for doing this. Otherwise it would have been a very boring book right?
Phillip is ready to propose to his feisty, mouthy beautiful girlfriend Stephanie when tragedy happens, and everything changes. Things are said and things are done that neither one feels they can forgive. Instead of talking about it and working it out. They both run in opposite directions, they live only half the life they could lead without each other in it. A few times one or the other will get smart and decide to go and talk to the other one and then something else happenes that is not what it seems and they walk away yet again.
Until David is going to get married and they are all going to be on the same island and they will have to confront not only each other but what has been going on for the past 10 mths of their lives without each other. And what happened that day that everything fell apart. What will happen between these two when they both find out all the times that they should have just sat down and talked instead of running? And realizing that if only ...??
DAMN this book had me in knots.. and i really wouldn't have left 0 stars. This book was just amazing, but so much freaking angst left me with my head ready to explode!! I wanted to kill Steph!! She was like OMG WHAT THE EFF IS WRONG WITH YOU!!!! Yeah that is how I felt. BUT in all fairness she had gone through hell!! I stayed up til 530 am reading this book, because I could NOT put it down and feel the way I felt while reading it. The end to me was worth all of it! It was the perfect ending for me!! And again all members of the group of FURY are in this book and we get to see into Cheyenne and Scot's life too:)
THANK YOU Michelle for this amazing book!! I am can't wait to read what you have coming up next!! You are a very talented writer! <3
Rage is the sequel to Fury, picking up where Fury leaves off. If you read Fury, read Something's Come Up for a look at Stephanie's past and learn about Pace Turner. Steph's old frenemy gets a brief mention in Rage.
We start the story off with Phillip and Stephanie, lots of love and angst there. I was actually screaming at Phillip for a bit and wanted to smack Stephanie on the arm. Poor communication, even for rock stars, will get you nowhere. Most of the story we are in the setting for David and Yara's wedding, talk about bridezilla. We have side stories about Bret and his wife, Nathan and Saffron (sexy little vixen) and of course Cheyenne and Scot with their little Liam. The boys are growing up to be men and realizing what they want from life. Lots of difficult times for Stephanie as she's not used to expressing herself and keeps it bottled up. She matures quite a bit with the help of Cheyenne and her brother the priest, Cedric.
Some secondary characters are wonderful and deserve mentioning. Phillip's uncle and his friend Bones are just crass old Irishmen telling it like it is, we all have someone like them in our lives. Maybe it's the third tier, not sure what to call them. Just makes me enjoy a book that much more when there's normalcy.
Enjoy the boys of Fury!
I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.
Set on the story of the love affair between Phillip and Stephanie Rage is a story that proves that communication is vital in a relationship.
At the beginning of the book all is happy, Stephanie has an amazing career photographing across the globe, she has an amazing boyfriend in rockstar Phillip and she has bought herself a few new digs in order to settle down- including settling down in London with her love.
Phillip the daft sod, although he loves Steph he doesnt even know what she wants, all he knows is he wants to own her- so he comes up with this idea to propose in front of everyone. He was given warning after warning not to do it, but he thought himself the big thing and there was no possible way she'd say no or hate his proposal. But at that pivital moment tragedy strikes.
And with that the relationship is over. Things are publicised, mud is slinged....and its hard to come back from that
10 months later the two are brought together when DJ and Yara tie the knot in Brazil. Phillip is a guest and Steph is a photographer.
They havent really seen each other since ''it'' happened. Although there was a lot thrown around the media these two have never actually sat down and spoken about said tragedy and the break up.
Steph has moved on, shes feeling more stable than before, shes healthier than shes ever been and shes got a hot new man in agent Christopher- and although she doesnt love him like he loves her, she knows that hes a decent man who'll be there for her.
As for Phillip, he's never gotten over Stephanie all he did to try and get over a woman was to get on top of another.
This story covers mainly the wedding and these two lovers meeting up again.....
So read this book and see how it all turns out.......
Now I havent actually read book 1 in this series I was given information that book 1 was not needed to enjoy this story- I disagree.
Although it never took away from the story as such I felt like I had missed out on a lot of important information especially the way Phillip and Steph fell in love. There was the odd referral to book 1 which obviously I didnt get. And also book 1 covers Stephs best friends Chey and Scot falling in love- and with the drama these 2 create in book 2 I think I really need to go read book 1 to figure these 2 out.
This was a book just filled with secrets and angst......my nails are bitten down to nubs!
The fact that nobody talked to each other, there were so many secrets knocking around.
Stephanie grrrr that girl made me so mad. She was just so selfish. She hid this big secret and she is the reason that these 2 are apart, but she just wont tell the truth to Phillip.
There was some fantastic side characters in this book Scot, Chey, Nathan and my personal favourite Saffron.
Final thoughts were it was a good book, filled with back stories so if you want the full enjoyment you must read book 1. But still a very good story that will make you want to scream at your kindle one moment and then swoon the next.
4 stars- Although I may up that after I read book 1 :)
I received an ARC from the authors in exchange for an honest review.
It was at that moment that Steph realized she loved him. Selflessly, painfully loved him.
Whew…where to begin. Firstly, if you have not read Fury, you need not proceed any further. These books move in conjuncture with each other and MUST be read in succession. While there is no cliffhanger in the first book, there are definitely many things left up in the air. But fear not reader, they are more than eloquently answered in this newest installment, Rage. While I loved Fury, with the passion of furies, Rage took that adoration to an entirely different level! This book left me in such a good place, but I’ll be honest. It took most of the book to get there. Rage is a journey in a way that my favorite books are. Heartbreak, angst, devastation, frustration, sexual tension, and then…….. Well, you’ll just have to read to find out.
And for Steph, a wedding didn’t symbolize new beginnings, but served as a tragic reminder of her own self mutilating cowardice.
Oh Steph, Steph, Steph. What are we going to do with you girl? I just LOVE this character. Well, we have a love/I wanna kick you in the butt relationship. Her snark, her wit, her independence, her confidence (usually), everything about her screams “I am woman, hear me roar!” She is the kind of friend that anyone would be lucky to have in their corner, because she will come out fighting. But whew, she drove me to the point of wanting to tear my hair out. I totally understood why she guarded her heart, and I know in her head she believed it was the best thing to do. But there is much more to Steph Brier than meets the eyes, and unfortunately, no one had ever looked deep enough to figure that out. She was emotionally stunted, rightly so, and needed someone to fight for her. To prove that she was capable of love and of being loved in return. My heart ached for her! Like pit in my stomach, despair shining through, just wanted to give her a hug ache. And at the same time, I wanted to scream at her, will you PLEASE just communicate?! He is worth it, and maybe things aren’t as they seem. Maybe he isn’t a bastard like all the other men you’ve been with. Maybe, just maybe, he wants you for more than the exterior. Maybe, just maybe, he wants your heart.
“Their break-up convinced Steph that no one could ever stay together. Marriage became a trivial joke to her after that. I’ve been all over the world and heard the confessions of thousands of people. My sister is still the single most jaded person I’ve ever encountered.”
In as much as I ached for Steph, I hurt just as much for Phillip. Not to say that he wasn’t partly to blame for the events that transpired and then spiraled out of control, but he was doing so mostly without full knowledge of the situation. One of my favorite things in a good book is being able to hear what goes on in the man’s head. Often, as women, we assume they aren’t as deep or feeling as we are, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Phillip feels, maybe even more than Steph, but the authors portray him in a way that is real and honest and completely true to the character. The pain that he endures internally lashes out externally towards everyone in the vicinity. God help you when Hurricane Phillip comes near. He wears his pain like a badge of honor, unabashedly for the world to see, and it’s so damn refreshing.
“We were doomed from the start. Oil and water.” “More like oil and a blowtorch, if memory serves. We were nothing short of amazing, Stephanie.”
Let me tell you, these characters fight WELL. They fight honest and somewhat dirty, all the while with their heart on their sleeves. These are two people so obviously in love with each other, but acting on misguided material the result is catastrophic for everyone involved. I am not lying when I say my heart was literally torn in two reading this. I felt their pain to the depths of my soul and it quaked in my bones. That was what I LOVED about this book. The angst. For me, angst = feelings, and needless to say, there were no shortage of these in Rage.
“Stephanie…I love you. I can’t explain it. I can’t quantify why, so don’t bother asking. I wish to God it weren’t true, but it is.”
Across the board, the personal growth in Rage was astounding and heartwarming. From the cohesiveness of the authors, Steph and Phillip, and even to the other band members. Where Fury made it to third base, Rage hits it out of the park! I was overwhelmingly pleased with how we left ALL of the characters in the end, and know they will forever be in my heart. With that said, this is most definitely getting 5 stars from me! Thank you Pace and Coons for giving us more of our favorite Brit rockers!
“My worst day with you was a billion times better than my best day without you.”
Since this is a sequel to Fury I will be talking a little about that book in this review. If you have yet to read Fury (Book 1) stop, go read that book NOW!! These books need to be read in order.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ (SOME SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW) ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I was so happy to know that Michelle Pace and Tammy Coons came together and did it again. Just as good if not better than Fury!!! As Cheyenne’s Scotts story was more on the calm side. It is the complete opposite for this ferocious couple. They both have independent fierce attitudes. Especially Stephanie taking after her Irish heritage and red hair! But Phillip and Stephanie play together so well, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
In Fury (Book 1) Phillip and Stephanie fought continuously. They couldn’t even be in the same room without going at each other’s throats. They infuriated each other to no extent. I did know with that much infatuation with one another that when they finally did get together (and we all knew it would happen eventually), it would be well worth the wait. Stephanie was never able to take photos of Phillip throughout the tour. When Phillip was going to visit his grandparents Stephanie had no other choice than to go along for the ride for the perfect photo op. As they were leaving Phillip’s grandparents the car broke down. With it storming and cold out, it left them with no other option than to go to a quaint cottage they had just passed along this country road. And well, the rest is history.
Rage started with Phillip and Stephanie happily seeing one another. With both of them working different schedules it was difficult for them to spend a lot of time together. Phillip loved Stephanie and wanted her. He didn’t even listen to the “buts” and “warnings he received from the people closest to Stephanie if it was the smartest thing for him to do. So he went for it, and with him down on one knee, never could he have imagined what happened next.
Stephanie; she ticked me so much off at times with being selfish here. She kept a secret from Phillip that drove them apart. I was screaming she should have just told him… REALLY!!!! But with what happened in the past, she just knew marriage wasn’t anything and nobody stayed together forever. As mad as she made me, I was also sad for what she was going through and felt alone through it.
Steph and Phillip end up avoiding one another after things went terribly wrong until they end up on a remote Brazilian paradise. They have no other choice than to face each other and their history.
I fell in love with Steph’s and Phillip’s characters in this story. There was so much heartache, anger, drama, happiness, any emotion you can imagine; I felt it with these two. I was so drawn into this story I finished it in one seating. I just could not put it down. So be prepared to set aside some time for this. Because once you start, you won’t be able to put it down until the end. 5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend reading this book, and if you haven’t bought it already, what are you waiting for?? Erica-The Book Nuts
I am so excited that Michelle Pace and Tammy Coons decided to give of us more of Phillip and Stephanie's story. I love the flippantly delicious British rocker and the fiery ginger haired photographer together. Their chemistry is undeniable. Even a tender kiss or trivial comment is anything but. Rage continues where Fury left off. Only this time we aren't following the boys of Fury around on a world tour. We are in a more intimate setting at a beautiful resort in Brazil for the wedding of gorgeous drummer DJ Dave. Some unexpected events prior to the wedding bring us to an intensity level that rivals the humidity of the Brazilian rain forest. In fact all the boys of Fury soon realize paradise isn't always what it seems. And they need to figure out how say the things they need to say and do the things they need to do. I love how Pace and Coons have made their characters and storyline grown up. In other words we aren't dealing with 19 or 20 yr old's. The boys of Fury have been in the business for a bit and are also at the next stage of settling down and wanting to have some semblance of a life outside of the fame. In Rage we really get to see this. We get to see the behind the scenes life of a rocker lifestyle without all the flair and showmanship. Rage is not a rocker story but a story about the heart of a rocker. It's as if Fury were a real band and you were reading a book of memoirs. It was so refreshing to read about the rock boys without the stage lights and the groupies trying to bed them. This was a story about their real life problems and how their hearts must deal with them. You also saw the family and loyal relationships they had between each other. Overall, the story just seemed more vulnerable. I know many readers complain about the time between books that are a series or continuation from the first book. But I will say Rage was definitely worth the wait. You can see the thought and development in the story to make sure we felt the characters and their struggle to balance their music life with their personal life. The main women of Rage were fabulous. Both Steph and Cheyenne still were feisty and cheeky as ever-- all to mask their insecurities. Their hearts are true and their minds tell them otherwise. I love how the girls can give it to the guys and keep up with the banter. They aren't meek. Often when two people get together to cowrite a book, parts may seem a tad disjointed. Not so in both Fury and Rage. Pace and Coons write a very cohesive and well developed story. I also appreciate their efforts in making sure to have some of the British slang laced throughout the book as the boys are beautifully British. And honestly my only thing about this book that makes me pout is that it was over. I love Phillip and could read about him all day long. Scot, Nathan, Bret, and David too!!! D4/5
Have you read Fury? If not…don’t continue. Rage is a sequel to Fury and you NEED to read that before you read Rage. ANYWAY, I’ll warn you. Steph is my bitch. I want to hang out with her. Even from the beginning of Fury, I knew she was someone I’d want to hang out with. Phillip….while he made me angrier than I don’t know what, I still had a soft spot for the man. Cheyenne…eh. She drove me crazy, but I get it. We all have that friend. But, ok, really, enough of me babbling, let me get to the actual review. The book begins where Fury left off. Steph and Phillip are happy and in love and barfalicious and all that jazz. Of course, Michelle and Tammy couldn’t leave them be though. What fun would that be. Tragedy strikes. No one knows what happens….I mean, sure, we all have an idea, but Lord knows you can’t trust instinct when it comes to these books. Flash forward 10 MONTHS, TWENTY-FIVE DAYS AND FOUR HOURS AND THIRTEEN MINUTES LATER Yes. You read that right. WHAT. THE. HELL?!?! I honest to God was staring at my kindle. HUH?!?! It’s time to face your demons Anyway, proceed. Phillip and Steph are at odds (to say the least) at part 2 of this book. Pip is a complete and total asshole, but it’s more than obvious he’s doing this to protect his feelings. He still loves Steph, and no matter how hard she tries to deny her feelings, she loves him too. There’s drama (duh), there’s classic Steph Stop being so dramatic, Father What-A-Waste. I’m sure the Victoria’s Secret Angels would have consoled you Thornbirds-style if anything had happened to me. Speaking of Father What-A-Waste….I love Cedric. He’s Steph’s brother. Who is a priest. He’s her “person.” They may not have always been the closest but, he is the one she turns to when she needs someone and boy, does she ever need someone. I’ve been all over the world and heard the confession of thousands of people. My sister is still the single most jaded person I have ever encountered. Now, I’m not going into the ins and outs of this book and who did what and why and the “OMG” moments, but trust me when I say, this book will make you mad, it’ll frustrate you and there’s even going to be times where you go ‘awwwww.’ You may not love every character. You may love a character and want to make them your own. Regardless, this book is one of those books that I could relate to. I mean, obviously I’m not a super famous rockstar and I don’t take photos of famous people all over the world or jetset with my brother, BUT….the issues they were dealing with were real. THAT is what I want in a book. The leap that the authors made from Fury to Rage was absolutely astonishing. I loved Rage even more than I did Fury. No doubt in my mind.
This whole gang is back, with a few extras. This is Stephanie and Phillip's story, and boy is it tragically happy. Cheyenne and Scot are back and thriving with their little family. Nathan has a new love interest and we get to see what becomes of his life. Bret has a whole new slew of problems to tackle. And it is all set with the back drop of David's wedding!
Steph is perpetually stuck with the emotional level of a teenager, since the death of her mother she just hasn't been able to connect to anyone beyond the physical side of a relationship. Phillip has only ever thought of himself, put his endeavors to the forefront of everything. He believes everyone wants a grandiose gesture, and life is a show. Despite being told by Cedric and Steph's dad that he should talk to Stephanie before proposing, he makes a big deal of it. This is where everything goes terribly wrong. Feelings are tested, relationships are shattered.
The Fury and friends must work to find a way to bring Stephanie and Phillip back together. Will the secret Stephanie is carrying be the final nail in their coffin? Are Cheyenne and Scot really as happy as they seem to be? Will Nathan ever find the one woman who can tame his wildness? What is going on in Bret's world? And will David ever make it down the aisle?
All questions are answered in this installment. I found it hard to put down at times, and other times you just wanted to reach in the pages and smack someone. I would recommend this to anyone who loves rock stars.

This is the sequel to Fury. Read it yet? You'll want to before you read Rage. The boys are back. And for once, I felt like I was on the side of the man for the story. I was so irritated through so much of this story. Okay, through the whole story. And not with just Stephanie, I was also so very irritated with Cheyenne. Both of these women choose to NOT talk to their men when they have issues. They kept it all in. Don't say a word and just bitch. It's just so annoying. First thing was Stephanie's hospital stay. What the hell!!! And she keeps the damn secret for years. That frustrates me. I get he did her wrong too, he publicized things that didn't need to be. But she kept. That. Secret. He should have been told. He should have known. And Cheyenne. Her insecurities just lead her through everything. She's married for goodness sake and couldn't even take the time to talk to her husband about what was going on, what was bothering her. It drove me nuts. I got severely pissed. These two women drove me nuts. Even though I can understand it, I really didn't like it at all. The saving grace for me was Bret and Sarah at the wedding. From there the story took a turn for the better. Then things got so much better and I was able to take a deep breath and cope.
Okay, So I had to read book 1 in order to do my review for book 2. And boy am I glad I chose to review this book. When I first started Fury, I was a little hesitant. To me it started off a little slow, but by the 3rd or 4th chapter, it picked up! Now to my review. Rage kinda, well not really. It doesn't pick up where Fury left off. There is a time difference. But NOT a major one to where so much has happened. I LOVED that book one mainly focused on Cheyenne and her best friend, Steph. Cheyenne is a journalist who works for Steph's father at The Sound Wave - a magazine. Steph is the photographer. Cheyenne and Steph were teamed up to go with Fury on tour and interview/photograph them. Cheyenne falls in love with the guitarist and Steph falls for the lead singer.
SOOO...Book 2 starts up a little bit after book 1 ends. This book is mainly about Steph and her relationship with the lead singer for Fury, Phillip Kersey. I didn't want to put this book down, it was really that good. If you haven't read this series yet, what the hell are you waiting for?!
It is truly an honor to be able to beta read for some amazing authors, and not a task I take lightly. This is especially true when it is one of my favorite series, as is The Sound Wave series. Rage is the sequel to Fury and focuses on the relationship between Steph Brier and Phillip Kersey. Steph is easily one of my favorite leading ladies EVER. I love her snarky wit, and her lack of a filter. She says exactly what's on her mind, and I love her for it. Phillip is a huge rock star and he really needed Steph to take him down a notch, which she did in Fury. Rage picks up right where Fury left off, and although we know that Steph and Phillip are meant for each other (the push and pull of these two is tangible), we also know that they won't make it easy for us. No, they're both too damn stubborn for that. They take the hard road every time, and the journey is delicious torture.
This is an enjoyable read I liked all the characters in the book and the story was one of lack of communication and yes it made me scream at my kindle a few times.
Phillip is being very romantic, but his plan goes wrong when Steph is took Ill. Months later they are to be reunited at a friends wedding which is to take place in paradise setting........
I left typing a review till today and I'm glad I did as now I see that both Steph and Phillip were to blame, Steph should have been honest and Phillip should not have disappeared.
I liked the family feel of the band and how all their relationships were included in the book, not all of them running smoothly. I should mention I haven't read book one but I still grew to care about the characters.
If you enjoy books about Rockstars and their women you will enjoy this story.
Has a lovely ending too :)
Four star read
** I received a copy of this book for an honest review **
I think I have found my new Rock Band!!! WOW I loved RAGE even more so than I loved Fury.. now don't get me wrong I LOVED Scot and Cheyenne! But I fell even more in love with Phillip and Steph! This story .. just two passionate dysfunctional scared people that couldn't have been more perfect for each other. Phillip is just ultimate HOTNESS, I love it when I can just imagine a character so vividly and his accent!! JUST OMG I had that mix of British and Irish accent, it had me all kinds of flushed! This book grabbed me in from the beginning, I love all the boys of the band! I even loved Cedric the priest! Forgive me God for I think I have sinned ! Ladies why must you describe a priest that HOT?? This book has the emotion, the comedy, the hurt, and the HOT SEX! You will a couple of OMG and OH Hell Nah Moments. I so cannot wait for the next book in the series! I Give my lover boy Phillip and his bandmates , 5 stars! ~Chris :)
I advise you read Fury before this one. Reading the novella Something's Come Up would be a good idea too:) Ok I've just read above two named books & loved them. But this one just blew them out of the water. This is the story of Phillip & Stephanie. Thankfully we get to read lots more about the other band members. This is a brilliant book. The storyline flows so well I was glued from start to finish. Reading this I certainly wouldn't have guessed that two authors got together to put together this fantastic piece of work. I will certainly be looking into reading more of these brilliant authors. Received in return for an honest review.
another 4.5 stars! I thought this book was just as good as the first. A little slow at first and sometimes I got tired of Stephs whining. But shoot who doesn't whine?
Although, the main story line was in regards to Steph and Phillip, I thought Ms. Pace did a wonderful job bringing in a story among all the character. So something was always going on and loved the different POV. I LOL alot especially at the end in regards to "David" at an event for Nathan. (not giving that away).
The book gave a closure for everything and everyone.
If you loved Fury, you will love Rage! The boys are back, and OH MY are they better than ever. A must read, you will fall in love all over again with Fury.
This is book 2 in the Sound Wave series, so if you have not read book one, Fury, then I suggest you read that before you consider starting this one. There is also the novella Somethings Come Up which features Steph, from this series, although this one is not vital to the storyline in Rage, it still gives a deeper insight into Steph's character. I have read both and thoroughly enjoyed both.
Steph and Philip meet in book one and Rage is all about how their relationship develops further. Rage begins, exactly where Fury left off. Although, Fury was all about the band and the tour, the main focus for Rage is the relationship between Steph and Philip.
At the beginning Steph and Philip are happy and all loved up. They are both thinking about settling down and taking their relationship to the next level. However, everything unravels and their break up is played out in the media spotlight. They both try to move on, but in doing so they only succeed in hurting the other. Their behaviour only shows that the passion they once shared is still alive. Only now they are too guarded to allow those feelings to come out, thus only adding fuel to the already raging storm that is brewing between them. I felt my heart broke for the two of them for completely different reasons. I also felt the frustration that had me wanting to scream at them to JUST TALK!
I love when a story can make me feel like I am going through all the emotions of the characters, when I can feel the hurt, anguish, frustration, joy, passion, I know I have read something special. I literally felt the hollow, gutted feeling you get when a relationship ends. My heart broke for them both. It was a complete roller coaster of a read from start to finish.
Michelle Pace and Tammy Coons did an excellent job of pulling me in right from the start. I was hooked, anytime I tried to put the book down, I would just think 'I'll finish this chapter' or 'I'll read one more chapter'. Before I knew it, I was finished!
In this second installment of The Sound Wave series we're reacquainted with the gang whole-heartedly. Rage picks up right where Fury left off but we also see fitting jumps in time and reminiscing over previous months that help us understand choices made and actions taken in situations we missed. I felt more connected with the guys of Fury and the rest of the gang as they've matured and are growing into their relationships. We get an up close and personal look on Steph and Phillip's relationship or lack there of. We learn to understand the reasons behind their actions even if we may not accept or agree with them. Babies are to be had and weddings are to be planned and the banter is ever present with the gang...I love it!! Steph is her stubborn self and she uses her snide remarks as a defense as opposed to allowing herself to feel. I wanted to shake her and say "just feel Steph, cry your eyes out, you need it." My stomach hurt for Steph and her pain and the denial of her feelings. Communication is key and Steph and Phillip need to practice and learn how to do this in a more healthy manner. I was turning page after page out of pure excitement for the new beginnings being experienced and the angst of decisions to be made and risks to be taken. Just like Fury, Rage left me wanting more of the gang...every one of them!! I love the ending and I can't wait to see whose story we'll get in the next installment!! Give this a try!!
Rage was a good follow up to Fury but I missed the mystery element that Fury had to it. I still love Steph though. She was awesome. I first met her in Something's Come Up which is how I got turned onto Fury so I was excited to see the mention of Pace. When it came to him being mentioned though I was kind of disappointed. It seemed like it was just thrown in there because it needed to be to tie it all together. I think since I read that book first I just really liked them together so it made me sad that it didn't mean that much to Steph in Rage. But I will say I did like Phillip as well when he wasn't being an ass haha.
Also usually I'm not a big stickler for grammar and wrong words used in sentences but I did notice that this book had a lot of it especially once I hit the half way point. In general though I thought Rage was a good follow up and definitely good in its own right but not as awesomely amazing as Fury. What can I say I'm a sucker for a romance with some mystery especially when it's unexpected.
This was a pretty good read, I will say I didn't read book 1 first but I would recommend that if you're going to read this book you read Fury, book 1, first.
Philip and Stephanie are in a new relationship and struggling to do it long distance. Stephanie is a traveling photographer who somehow manages to be independent, outspoken, blunt, and yet manage to keep all her real emotions from Philip. Stephanie doesn't believe that love really conquers all and that it will only last so long, having been raised by her father after her mother left has really dampened her outlook on forever love.
Philip is a member of the band Fury and he spends the bulk of his time working on their next album. Philip also didn't believe in love, until Stephanie came along and changed his outlook.
I really enjoyed all of the side stories that you get with this book. The other characters are so well written and I became invested in their lives as well as the main characters. This is a fast paced book with a great plot. I look forward to reading more of this series.
Michelle Pace does it again! She is a rockstar in her own rights! This book picks up where Fury ends...and you are right back into the mix of things with Steph, Cheyenne and the rock Gods of the band Fury. I don't want to give too much away - but I seriously enjoyed this book and found myself rooting for true love once again...not the fluffy over the top make you want to vomit sweet stuff...but the intense feel it in your toes kick you in the stomach love that we all dream about. Michelle Pace is quickly becoming one of my favorite writers and I am sooooo looking forward to reading more of her stuff!
I know I only gave this three four, but let me explain myself first.... It was a good book and I liked having more of Chy and Scot in the book, but there is only so much drama and sadness that I can take from one book. Yes - there were happy parts, but come on. I read for an escape of crappy reality - this was not one of those books. It was an excellently written book, just not my cup of tea.
I thoroughly enjoyed the 1st book in this series (Fury) but I have to say that Rage was so much more...
Michelle Pace put so much emotion and drama into this story line that I found myself misty eyed on more than one occasion. Part 3 of the book had so much humor that I couldn't help but laugh out loud like a mad woman. Such a great book!!!
I felt this book was a let down after reading Fury which I really enjoyed. Both the girls Cheyenne and Stephanie got on my nerves. I tended to feel the book was too immature and I really got fed up with their stupidity. For once I really felt sorry for the guys being stuck with these girls.
Wow. I have found that there really is nothing Michelle Pace puts her name to that I don't like! Great story and amazing characters! I love how all the characters have evolved and become so much more!
I honestly love everything that Michelle Pace writes. If she wrote an instruction manual, I'd probably read it, lol! I loved this book. I loved Fury. I loved Something's Come Up. Read them all. You won't regret it!
Another girl who should have just told the truth from the beginning and things could have been avoided, BUT then we wouldn't have had another great Sound Wave book!
