Brantley Once upon a time, I tried to drown myself at the bottom of a bottle and didn't care who it hurt. I haven't been that guy in years, but no one believes me. Especially not since my father was killed in front of his assistant. Everyone thinks his dealers were after me, and I let them believe it. What do I have to lose, right? Turns out…everything. Because the moment Isla Sterling walks into my life, the past no longer matters. Only she does. After everything I've done, I know I'm not good enough for her. She wants the truth about what happened, and I want to give it to her. I just didn't expect it to go down like this…
Isla I thought having a mom in prison was the hardest thing I'd ever face. And then, my dad shipped my twin off to Texas after she witnessed a murder. Now, I'm alone for the first time in my life. I should let it go and let the cops do their job, but I can't. I need to know the truth about what happened. I just didn't expect Brantley Hill. Everyone says he's responsible…but I don't believe it. Falling for him is the worst possible thing I could do. I do it anyway. Right up until everything unravels, and I'm forced to choose. Can I really build a future with a man who has a past as broken as his?

This feels a bit too intense for me and touches on some pretty heavy stuff. I don’t know, maybe it’s just me, but I feel like the "issue" was blown out of proportion and the FMC's reaction seemed a bit over the top.
I'm just not feeling it, so I'm going to stop now. This really isn't working out for me.

I loved it and recommend it highly!! I am going to go into spoilers by summarizing the story for me to refer to and remember it in future. Also, I will talk about what I think of their intimate relationship. In short, I love these two!
DUAL VIRGINS! THEY EXPERIENCE ALL THEIR FIRSTS TOGETHER, INCLUDING FIRST KISS! (This is what I crave in romance!) *booty shake, happy dancing, grinning like a crazy person!*
Quote, "Until tonight—until her—I'd never even kissed anyone. Even blackout drunk, the thought of anyone touching me made my skin crawl." end quote.
Quote, "'Brantley. Oh my… Why does that feel so good?" I lift my head, my eyes locking with hers as shock rips through me. "No one has ever touched you before, have they, little bird?" "No." "Ah, goddamn." I lunge for her mouth, kissing her like a wild beast as one hand slides down her stomach, seeking the button on her jeans. "You really shouldn't have told me that, Isla. Now, I have to fucking know…" "Know what?" she gasps. "Exactly what you sound like coming apart for me." I pop the button and then inch down the zipper, my eyes locked on her face. "I want your voice to be the one I hear in my dreams, little bird. Only yours." Her brows furrow and then her eyes fly open wide. "Brantley, are you…?" Her tongue skates along her bottom lip. "You've never–?" "Nope. Didn't want anyone touching me until a sweet little bird with a gorgeous blue eyes and a pretty smile sashayed into my office. Couldn't stand the thought of anyone touching me." I tug her shirt up a little, revealing a tantalizing strip of her soft belly. I lean down, planting my lips against it. "But you aren't just anyone, Isla. You're magic." end quote.
Safe No cheating No OM/OW No gross condom use No third act break up 1 day separation (misunderstanding has her running but it is remedied quickly) HEA
This is the love story of Isla (21 years old) and Brantley (26 years old). These two have such a spellbinding, rare bond because they experience and discover intimacy, and romantic love for the first time and only ever, with each other. There were so many emotions between the two, love and passion prevailing. Isla is Bella's twin sister (Cormac's Bella from "The Bodyguard", a favorite DV love story). She wants Brantley's help to get Bella back home, but Brantley refuses, even though his whole world shifted and he felt attraction for the first time. He fell for her right then and there but instead of getting on his knees ready to grant her every wish, his mind races and as a result decides that she needs to be protected from the men who have killed his father, so he refuses and warns her that her quest is dangerous. His father is the same man that Bella worked for and witnessed his murder, making their dad send Bella to Texas under the strong watchful eye of 'Giant/Tiny Carmicheal (I love this man! He is one of my favorite heroes!). Isla wants her sister home with her so she decides to coax Brantley by hanging out where he hangs out, a diner and then the topless bar Memphis owns. Brantley only goes there for meetings, he isn't interested in women and since he is sober from alcohol for 4 years he only goes to these places for business meetings. He really does not care for places like that but has to attend business meetings with musicians, who hang out at bars so he grits his teeth when he goes and is relieved when it is over. Since he was a kid, he NEVER lets anyone touch him, nor does he touch anyone.... until Isla! The only kind of touch he accepts is when he kisses his mom on the cheek when he greets her, but even his own mom can't touch him, or hug him to comfort him. It hurts her, as she was abused by his father as well, but she understands. NO ONE touched him, not even a brotherly pat on the back, until Isla, and he not only loves her touch and loves touching her, but needs it and is addicted to it! His fear of touch turned into a deep need, but only from the only woman to ever be aloud to do so. I love that so much! I swooned and my eyes lit up in delight! Isla gets to claim ALL of his firsts! *swoon so much swoon* He inherited the music business from his abusive father and he is trying to battle his demons and the ghost of his father whom has left him and his mother scarred and broken as a result of severe abuse. It takes time for him to see himself worthy as a man, as a son, but what pushes him to feel deeply and to be ok with being angry at his father, sad for his mother, and even accepting that in some way he still loves his father which makes his turmoil complicated, is Isla's healing touch. Words of comfort, soft kisses and her healing touch, opened him and her to the wondrous experience that is a romantic relationship. One that is full of understanding, love, acceptance and no fear of expressing their deep love for each other by bringing each other pleasure, and the moments of tenderness that follow are exceptionally romantic. Trust is an issue that led to a misunderstanding in the third act, as Brantley hid from Isla that he knew there were men there the night his father was killed but had no idea he was going to be killed and did not know that Bella would witness the murder, sending her into hiding. Had he known, he would not have left. What he is terrified of is telling Isla that when he learned his father was murdered, he felt relief, he even smiled. He was convinced she would see him as a monster. She was not hurt by how he felt, nor did she ever think he was monstrous for feeling relief in being released from the shackles his father put on him, she was hurt by him keeping the truth from her. She overheard the conversation between him and his sponser/psychologist/giant cowboy/friend, and was heartbroken that he hid that from her even though he planned on telling her. He texted her that she did not hear it all, and to come to him, he will wait for her. She feared the worst, feeling betrayed by him lying by omission, but was worried for him as well. She didn't hear the entire conversation, but even though he was chasing after her he was convinced by his friend with whom he was conversing, into letting her have a think alone. He is so afraid of losing her he goes to a bar and stares at the glass full of liquor, but does what he promised Isla. He gave her his word, that if he feels like going off the wagon, that he call someone, so he calls Priest and Dalton. He does not drink a drop, as he knows it would upset Isla, and he is hell bent on being the man she deserves. Speaking of touch, he really is serious that the only person he lets touch is Isla, because when Priest gave him a shoulder pat he yelled "Don't touch me!". He did not go into a full blown panic as he would before meeting Isla, which is a testament to him moving on the right path to healing. Isla could not go long without worrying about her man, so she goes to him and they have a heart to heart, he proposes and they get married. Yes! All this happening very quickly! The epilogue is so sweet with them having a 4 year old daughter and expecting a baby boy. I love when NR writes toddler talk, it is so cute and funny that it made me chuckle. Even though it ends with them in marital and familial bliss they still have their highs and lows, but one thing is certain, his love for Isla and her love for him is indestructible. I believe in their happily ever after, I believe in their life filled with sunshine, I believe that when he has PTSD episodes or when he says he would make mistakes, NONE of them would ever be ones that hurt Isla in any way. Of course, them experiencing intimacy of every kind including kissing and touching for the first time as well as sex, took their love scenes over the top because the magic is that neither have experienced any form of romantic intimacy before! For me the erotica is enhanced, it is hot, passionate and taken to a whole other level. It can only be that way in couples who experience sex and intimacy only ever with each other, because no other before them has inspired lust, and to me, love and lust ALWAYS go hand in hand in romance! There is nothing more powerful than that. The book is quite serious with topics that are very real, but there are brief moments of humor that have you smiling. The subject matters of parental abuse, alcoholism, and working on ones mental health, letting go of traumatic experiences, all these are handled well, and NR has a way of making the drama and sadness bearable. It is the unwavering love between our couple, the multiple reminders of how they are each others one and only, which makes their journey of overcoming all their hurdles successful, strengthening their bond. So I know in my heart that them finding their HEA is a guarantee. There was never any doubt and it is because their love is strong and true, having NEVER wavered! I imagine them old and gray, still madly in love, and lets be honest, still going at it like bunnies! *wink* Tiny (Giant Carmicheal) and Michief (Bella) were so stinkin' cute together, it was good to see them again, even if it was brief! It makes me want to reread, "The Bodyguard" again (it is one of my favorite DVs stories I have read countless times). I don't think that a pair of twins anywhere in romance world are as lucky as Isla and Bella! Bella has her giant 'Tiny', and Isla has her broken sweetheart, and him her "little bird". Both have fully claimed their respective men, mind, BODY, heart and soul. I recommend "Save Me" and I recommend reading "The Bodyguard" if you haven't already! Happy reading!
- 195 Pages - Hero with trauma - Dual v, no owd/omd - h 21, H 26
Cute book. The hero’s father got killed, and the h twin sister was there when it happened. The twin gets shipped away for her safety, and the h wants to find out what happened so she can get her sister back home. The world thinks the H did it, but the H has trauma from how he’s father treated him, and therefore didn’t explain to the press what really happened. H is a former addict, been sober 4 years. The h asks the H for help. They fall instantly.
Safety: - Dual V, H never even kissed. - Their first time, loved how he was a two-pump champ! - H visit strip club (se below)
Didn’t like: - The quick wedding in a court house a couple of hours after they had their third act breakup. - Didn’t like him going to strip Clubs even tho it was for business and to help the h, and he couldn’t care less about the women - I know I know- but it just don’t think my bookboyfriend should be around other naked women. Period.
This is a deep, raw story that tore my heart. Two people whose lives were formed by traumatic experiences find solace in each other. Brantley’s agony and his feelings of not being worthy broke my heart. Isla’s strength and ability to see good was beautiful and exactly what he needed. The author pulled no punches on the pain and societal judgments that abuse brings but balanced it with humor and hot passion. Their journey had twists, turns, truths, hope, redemption, and a healing love. A beautiful read. “The whole goddamn world feels like it's conquerable when I'm holding you."
OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was longer than I am use to reading but I really enjoyed this one!!

This is the 4th book in the Bad Boys of Music Row series and Ms. Rose definitely saved the best story for last a story that addresses some serious subject matter in a beautiful and compassionate way. Brantley and Isla's dark and steamy billionaire insta-love romance grabs your attention from the very beginning and it keeps you turning the pages to see what's going to happen next and we get to revisit some of our favorite characters. Isla goes to Brantley looking for answers after her father Mac sends her twin Bella to Texas to protect her. Bella was working as an intern at the record label that Brantley's father owned interning for his father and she witnesses him get murdered in the parking garage. Brantley wants Isla the moment that he lays eyes on her which is a new feeling for him especially since Bella never stirred any feelings in him and they're identical. Brantley tells Isla to go home and he has her removed from his office he doesn't want her mixed up in anything dangerous since he doesn't want anything to happen to her. Isla wants her sister back so she plans to do whatever it takes to get Brantley to help her starting with showing up at a few of his favorite places. Isla and Brantley have an instant connection with Isla opening up to him about her biological mother and what happened to her and Bella when they were younger. The way that Brantley reacts lets Isla know that someone hurt him also and Brantley tells Isla that he doesn't let anyone touch him ever she's the only exception. However Brantley is still keeping secrets from Isla big secrets that might destroy everything between them if Isla were to find out. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this dark and steamy billionaire insta-love romance to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book as well as the other books in this wonderful series. I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is one book I’ve been waiting years for, and it was everything I could have hoped for and then some. Isla Sterling has had a special place in my heart since reading her dad and stepmoms book “The Billionaires Big Bold Woman”. She was special then, and she’s even more special as a young woman finding her place in the world. Although this can be read as a standalone, I highly suggest you read both her parents book and her twin sister Bella’s book “The Bodyguard”. It’s not completely needed, but I think you’ll have a much better understanding and appreciation for what they’re going through after reading those first. This story touched on so many difficult subjects; addiction, childhood abuse, childhood neglect, PTSD and murder just to name a few. Definitely check trigger warnings before hand, but I felt like all these subjects were done in a very tasteful way, while still holding true to reality. These are the books I love! They give us deep, real life while also giving all the steam and insta love we’ve come to love from Nichole Rose. The love between these two was absolutely electric, and the fact that only she could touch him? It was so heartbreaking and heart melting at the same time. Brantley was a broken soul, but he had incredible strength as well and through Isla he learned to love himself again. Their love was so deep and tender and healing for both of them. I’m so happy we got their stories! No cheating or OM/OW drama, dual virgins, first kisses, first everything (only she can touch him), lots of triggers so check warnings, so much personal mental health work leading to a beautiful HEA and an epilogue 6 years in the future. I adored this series, and all the broken men who loved their woman fiercely. I really hope we get Daniel’s book at some point too, he sounds like a really interesting character!
So. Many. Tears. This was such a beautiful, yet heart wrenching story. My heart broke for Brantley. He has been through so much and he still carries it all. His heart is damaged. He's scarred. And then Isla comes along and awakens something in him he has never felt even once. Not even a smidge. He felt attraction. He felt lust. He felt hope. And he felt love. He felt. He carries so much guilt. He continually punishes himself. But Isla. Isla shows him that he is worthy. He was always worthy of love and care. He doesn't have to earn it. As he is, he deserves all the love in the world. I love that Nichole didn't make it a perfect ride. He wasn't magically fixed in one day. These kinds of hurts take years to get over. But love, the love between him and Isla shadowed all that. In the end, love saved him. Isla wasn't without her past hurts either. So she understood to a point. With help, she understood even more. Their love was life changing. I loved seeing Mac and Jenna again. As well as Cormac and Bella. Brantley and Isla have a beautiful love story. They beat the demons of the past together and grew something absolutely beautiful. Their relationship, their family, their love. I'm floored.
I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Every time I see the cover/title, I hear Jelly Roll. 🎶 Somebody save me 🎶 Isla did just that. It’s so good to see vulnerability in men. It’s not easy, for anyone, to admit they need help.
POV: Dual, First Person Age gap: Brantley, 26 and Isla, 21 - I was a little surprised since thats not the age gap Nichole usually writes, but it worked well and made complete sense. OW(M)/Cheating: No. 3rd act breakup: I wouldn’t call it a breakup. Maybe a cooling off period of like 12 hours. Instalove: Yes. Series: Yes, book 4 of Bad Boys of Music Row. It’s the second generation and has ties to other serieses by Nichole. Spice: It wouldn’t be a Nichole Rose book without having some heat! Writing: I’m constantly amazed at how much depth Nichole’s characters have within the confines of a novella. My eyes were watery quite a bit and I don’t typically tear up/cry while reading. Editing: A handful of editing errors, nothing major. Read this author before: Yes, Nichole is a favorite of mine. Available on KU: Yes Trigger Warnings: Yes, check the front of the book or Nichole’s website. Mostly, it’s reference to severe childhood/domestic abuse (not between Brantley and Isla). Should you read it: Yes. Especially if you don’t have a lot of time to devote to it but still want something with some depth.
Brantley Hill’s father, Bellamy, was murdered. To the world, Bellamy was a wonderful guy. In reality, he was always high and torturing his wife and son. Brantley inherited the record company, Hilltop Records. Brantley abused alcohol to escape the memories but has been sober for the last four years. He did not want to become like his father. Plus, to save his mother, he agreed four years ago to be part of the business. His sobriety coach is Daniel Tipton, who also pretends to be Brantley’s assistant.
Isla Sterling is there to see Brantley. Her twin sister used to work for Bellamy, and she witnessed his murder. Mac Sterling, their father, sent Bella to a bodyguard in Silver Spoon Falls, Texas. Their biological mother, Marion, just got out of prison. She tried to frame Mac and was never a good mother to the twins. Isla has talked to Marion because she wants answers. Isla and Bella disagreed about seeing Marion because Bella wants nothing to do with her. Isla wants answers from Brantley and Brantley does not want Isla involved, so he kicks her out of his office.
Both Brantley and Isla had trust issues and did not let anyone touch them intimately. I loved that from their first conversations, they understood each other. I was rooting for them to be a real couple and wanted them to bring Bellamy’s killers to justice so Bella could come home.
I’ve been waiting to read Isla and Brantley’s story since we learned about them in The Bodyguard (Bella and Cormac/Giant’s story)! Nichole Rose did not disappoint!! Some days you want a story that is smooth and rainbows and sunshine. This story is not that – it’s real, it’s gritty and it’s heart-wrenching.
Isla and Brantley have both suffered through a parent relationship that left them damaged and internally scarred. Each learned different things from those experiences, and they have shaped their lives in different ways. This story shows the differences between those journeys, and watches them grow, as individuals and as a couple, as they work through the trauma left behind. This book had me crying, laughing and cheering both Isla and Brantley on as they found their footing together.
There is so much realness in this book, especially as it discusses society’s view of abuse victims and the perception of them, without give, is spot on, and eye opening that as a society, we still struggle with these preconceived notions.
If you are looking for a tale of struggle, leading to redemption, I strongly recommend this book to you. Please keep in mind the trigger warnings on this book, and make sure you are comfortable before you start reading.
*CONTAINS SPOILERS* Oh, this is my favorite book in the series!!! Right beside The surgeon and The Bodyguard!!!!!
They both suffered so much since childhood. Brantley got it worse though being abused by his father and having to protect his mother from his father too. It’s love at first sight!! Some funny moments. And the thing I love the most: he hasn’t been touched!!! An H that is not only a virgin, but also hasn’t kissed nor touched or been touched because of his PTSD. I love this (not the ptsd, the untouched part!!) Thank you for giving the V h an equally inexperienced, untouched H. I loved how they both healed each other. How she fought for him. How he decided to put the past in the past. Loved the past books characters make an appearance. I just loved it.
The only thing I didn’t like was him going to Memphis’ bar even if it was for business or to talk to Memphis. (It’s a tittys bar - as he said). But was relieved that he didn’t let anyone touch or flirt with him.
I loved the book.
SAFE - yes - Both virgins, each others firsts - age gap: 6 years - ow/om: nope - separation/breakups: no - cheating/sharing: nope - possible triggers: abuse, violence from H’s father (not on page) - HEA: yes
Oh my goodness yes!! We have Isla Sterling’s story. Isla is a second generation character, and I have loved this character since meeting her when she was a princess pirate. Isla and her twin sister had a tough start in life, although their father loved them so much, their mother was a horrible person. When we read Belle’s story, she had been witness to a horrible crime, and her father, Mac Sterling had sent her away. Save Me is the second part to that story. Isla wants her sister back! And Isla will go to the one person who can help her get Bella back, Brantley. Brantley, whose father was the victim of the horrible crime. Brantley, possessed by his past demons, who inherited his father’s company after he was slayed, and Brantley is fighting his own inner demons. One look at Isla, and he had a new addiction, and he wanted to have her, possess her, protect her and claim her. Save Me is so beautifully written, and it rips your heart out, and makes you want to cry for the characters. I could not stop reading!!! Nichole Rose has done it again, given us amazing characters, an engaging story and of course the connections to other characters. Do not miss this book!!!
This is book number 4 in the Bad Boys on Music Row series and focuses on Brentley and Isla. Isla is the twin sister of Bella (from The Bodyguard) and she is actively trying to help get her sister back home safely after she was sent away for her protection after witnessing the murder of Brentley’s dad. Brentley has hated his dad for years but wanted to protect his mom and her reputation so he didn’t stick up for himself when people blamed his dads death on him. He was used to cruelty thanks to his dad but when he meets Isla, he finally finds some greatness in his world. Isla is able to see past what the outside world sees and sees a man worth loving. I love that they both love and protect each other fiercely and are each other's champions against the world. This was such a great story and a great addition to the series!
I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Nichole thank you! Isla and Brantley end the bad boys of music row beautifully. Their heartbreaking childhood to their disrupted adult life, gives us readers so much back story to thoroughly enjoy their happy ending, and they definitely deserve it. I love how Brantley isn't your typical alpha MMC who isn't flappable, and that the trauma of his past isn't magically fixed when he meets Isla but is a constant work in progress. Work he's willing to put in now he has his forever by his side who is going to be one of his biggest cheerleaders. Brilliant read, loved every minute of it. The whole series has been wonderful and I will re-read this one without a shadow of a doubt. Thank you for another brilliant series Nichole.
I've been waiting to see the love story between Isla and Brantley, and omg it was so good! I've loved these characters since reading Mac and Jenna's story forever ago. I'm so glad we got to see how the girls found love while staying true to the personalities of these characters we first met as children. This story is definitely an emotional rollercoaster, with both MC's going through trauma both separately and together, but the support they give each other is beautiful and the HEA was definitely earned. *While not a dark romance, there are some potential triggers so please read your trigger warnings at the beginning.* This story was everything I could have hoped for and I'm so glad we are able to experience it.
I would give this book 10 ⭐ if I could!! Ill be honest, after reading Giant and Bella's story, I wasn't looking forward to Brantley's. I had it in my head that he was awful...I've NEVER been so glad to be wrong!! There was just something about him that just clicked with me and I really liked his character. I wanted to scream at him or throw my Kindle a time or two. If I could, I would sm@ck his dad and hug his momma. Isla is so strong but yet so afraid to be hurt by Brantley. But she will come to realize that he isn't a bad guy and he will be there for her always. I really do feel like this is one of my favorite books Nichole has ever written. 5⭐ 3🌶
I absolutely LOVED it!!! It’s been a long time coming but let me tell you it was definitely worth it!!!! Brantley and Isla are true soulmates!!!! I felt all the feels while reading this one!!! My heart completely broke for all Brantley had been through as well as his mother😭💔 Isla relating to a degree, had their already powerful bond grow even stronger! They are both strong and amazing survivors and I loved watching them help each other slowly heal! The chemistry is beyond worlds and the smexy times were HOT AS HADES🥵🔥 I just loved everything about this book and I kept wanting more lol Highly highly highly recommend this phenomenal book!!!
💞My rating: 4.6/5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ When it clicked for me that this was Isla and Brantley’s story I actually screamed! I loved getting the different point of view of the situation from these two, and it was so much sweeter than I could’ve imagined. Just like her twin, Isla had Brantley hooked from the second he laid eyes on her, and their relationship was so unique in comparison to others in the silver spoon falls. We got another strong and in love couple, and it was such a great read! It was so heartbreaking getting this side of the story, but Isla and Brantley got that love bug just like the rest of their family so not much to worry about there.
I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was an absolutely amazing billionaire romance. This is a story I have been waiting for such a long time, ever since reading “The Bodyguard” I have wanted to get Isla’s story and it was even better than I expected. It was a really emotional story and my heart was breaking for Brantley several times during it. The storyline was so captivating and I really didn’t want the story to end because I love the dynamic between Isla and Brantley. It was one of the best books I’ve ever read by this author.
This is a story I’ve been waiting for. Each of the stories in this Bad Boys of Music Row series have been very good. There were some advances in this story in previous stories. Brantley was in one of the worst moments of his life, some mobsters killed his father and all indicated that it had been for problems related to him. But one day Isla arrives at his office looking for answers to help her twin, who witnessed the murder, and since he met her he knew that his life had changed, that he had to fight, show the world that the bad boy was in the past.
**This is and ARC review for my honest opinion** This book was so good I laughed a little cried a little bit also. But Brantley and Isla were just awesome from beginning to end. so happy that the oldest twin got her story. Brantley and Isla both shared trauma with being mistreated by a parent that person who is supposed to love you and care for you unconditionally. But this was truly wonderful and it made my heart feel so full that it worked out in the end.
Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.
I read this book in one sitting and I couldn’t get enough, I loved every second of it. The chemistry and passion between Isla and Brantley was undeniable and sizzling. They were made for each other.
Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a curvy heroine, billionaire romance then you’re going to love it.
If I could give this book 10 stars I would. I still have tears running down my face as I write this review. What a beautiful and emotional story! As much as I absolutely adore Nichole’s lighter books her “darker” books like this one never fail to amaze me how much emotion pours out of the pages. Brantley and Isla’s story was just so perfect. The only downside of this book was that it ended I could keep reading about these characters for a long time! That epilogue was so darn adorable too.
Brantley had his faults but he is not what everyone thinks he is. He has kept his father's secrets for too long and those secrets got his father killed, not Brantley. From the moment the meet Isla knows Brantley is not what everyone thinks, he had is faults but he is more than those and his past, she just needs him to see he is worthy in this wonderfully emotional read.
Oh my the heartbreak in this one! Brantley feels like the lowest low after his past won't leave him alone. He certainly feels like he shouldn't have Isla. She is torn because of her own past and wanting to fall for Brantley while believing the best of him. I think this read was heart wrenching, as it takes on subjects like addition and abuse while having two people that belong together at the heart of it. Great read, so glad we finally got Brantley's story.
This was a really great story. It has a lot of intense themes but it was amazingly done. I couldn’t wait to see how Brantley and Isla worked through everything. Brantley has a lot of past trauma that he needs to work through. Isla wants to figure out what happened that caused her twin to leave town. Will they be able to work through everything to find happiness together?
I received an ARC from author/publisher for an honest review.
I've been waiting for Isla's book ever since The Bodyguard (Isla's twin sister Bella's book). It did not disappoint. The emotions that Brantley made me feel were all over the place and I loved it. This book was emotional. Reading Brantley's turmoil was like being in a hurricane. I loved Isla and Brantley especially how they understood each other. 5 stars for me!!
his was such a powerful read. I felt so bad for B and all he was put though. Isla was absolutely amazing and how she knew to handle the situations just made it a wonderful read. I enjoyed the book and really appreciated how the ending tied everything/everyone together. Also, I do like reading about Giant. 😂
This was okay. There was a crazy overuse of pet names though. At one point he called her little bird 3x on one page. Maybe it's bc i find birds annoying. Maybe it's bc i find pet names annoying... either way I rolled my eyes and cringed a lot.
