This was so much fun.

I love Senlinyu’s writing. Everything is so meticulously thought out and detailed without dragging on. It definitely wasn’t Manacled, but it was still a short & sweet read that didn’t feel so heavy or sad. Much more lighthearted! I really enjoyed it😌

Love and Other Misfortunes is hands down the best Dramione fanfic I’ve read, and it’s quickly become an instant favorite. If you’re a fan of the enemies-to-lovers trope, this story brings everything you love about it while offering something fresh and deeply engaging.

This the first dramonie fic I've ever completed . It wasn't long compared to the other ones so it was a quick read for me . The writing was easy to read aside from the too long dialogues that made me bored I liked it . I think I was slightly disappointed because I thought there was going to be more yearning and tension between them. They got together rather fast to my liking.

OK I admit it, I think I’m addicted to Dramione!

I really enjoyed this version by SenLinYu - she’s a great author of these various Dramione takes, though you do have to be accepting of multiple typos when reading (I downloaded this from AO3).

In this version Draco is a super-special (and very rare) magical being, who has secretly been in love with Hermione for years.

I’m going to stay spoiler free for you, so bear with me…

Apart from the multiple typos and grammatical errors, which I’m surprised at because the author names someone at the start who supposedly checked the manuscript for these, I enjoyed this one. A lot.

It’s not as dark as Manacled, and will have you falling for bad-boy Draco all over again. 4 stars.

Reread. I LOVE THIS FIC, senlinyu never disappoints. Always so interesting with her magical theory and story building, as well as the emotional depth of her characters. Love when either Hermione or Draco aren't fullg wizard, and verla is perfect.

This is MY manacled. (I’m saying that as someone who’s never read manacled, probably never will, and there’s a 90% chance I won’t be reading the published version. no hate to that book.. there are just themes in it that I’m not comfortable with)


I want to inject this book into my veins.
I need to find a way to get a physical bind of this book right now.

the plot:

hermione granger. my oblivious, selfless, over worked, book loving sweetheart.
she literally tries so hard to help everyone, sometimes a little too hard😭. the poor girl barely even had time to eat or do basic necessities for herself.
I absolutely adore her.
her undeniable dedication to helping every person and creature was wonderful.
I loved that she didn’t back down to anyone’s bullshit, no matter the consequences.
she’s by far one of my favorite heroines to date.

draco malfoy. my grumpy, obsessed, stubborn, smartass.
I will admit, his character frustrated me at times, but his character was meant to in a way? but I still loved him so much. his dedication to hermione and those he loved was beautiful. when he was being an ass, or just uncompromising, his one goal was to keep hermione safe and happy. you could tell he actually cared and loved her from the start. also the pining??? off the charts.

MY POOKIEST BEARS EVER HERMIONE GRANGER AND DRACO MALFOY 💗🫂.

I loved their dynamic, even when they were being frustrating. the banter between them was amazing. him sulking and following her around constantly was really funny.
I loved the slow burn, and that he fell first. I also liked that she wasn’t immediately in love with him. you really got to see her fall for him throughout the book.
(anyone that knows me, knows I’m a sucker for when the guy falls first🤭)
they were constantly fighting for each other.
the love and support they have is unmatched.
the only thing I didn’t like was that when she finally did fall for him, and knew. She said “I love you” too quickly, imo. I know that’s silly but it just felt wrong ya know? I just wish that part would have been later on in the book.

This book may not be a masterpiece like Manacled, but it's still a lot of fun and offers a completely different experience. In this story, Draco is part-Veela and needs his mate to survive. Hermione is his mate, but she's unaware of it, and time is running out. The book is quite intense, and being immersed in this Harry Potter world written by SenLinYu is absolute perfection. I'm a sucker for Draco/Hermione fanfiction, and no one writes it like she does.

TROPE: Enemies to friendly co-workers to lovers.
MAIN CHARACTERS:
1. Draco Malfoy, male lead, is the wealthy son and heir of the Malfoy family fortune with a here-to-fore unknown condition that is slowly killing him.
2. Hermione Granger, female lead, is a nerdy workalcholic researching ways to improve and meld the WRA/ Werewolves Rights Act with the principles of the Regulations and Control of Magical Creatures.
3. Emeliory Bogfeld is the Secretary of Magical Bonds.
4. Pansy Parkinson is a journalist and former girlfriend of Draco.
5. Theo Nott is Draco's best friend and works in the same building.
6. Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy are Draco's parents.
7. Ginny Weasley is Hermione's good friend.
6. Padma Parvati is Hermione's assistant.

Draco finds out that he was quarter Veela from his mother's side and that Hermione is his mate. It's a lovely story with bits of humor.

I am certainly addicted to Dramione and most of all when it's written by Senlinyu. And maybe that's why I hold it to a greater standard. To me, Manacled is cannon. The end. One of my favorite books of all time and I'll hear nothing on it. So I was excited to see a more fantastical heavy take on Dramione.

However, while it did have the writting style and lore that I love from this author, the story left me lacking. For one thing, they fall in love off page, taking away most of the angst and expectation. Hermione tells us she's been in love. Draco gets the short end of the stick in a lot of things. Harry is nicer than Manacled, but also a bit bland. And so much politics. So yea, 2.75 because of the writting style and due to the fact that Dramione still reigns.

Looking forward with angst and trepidation for Alchemised.

Senlinyu never disappoints. Come on, seriously? No one writes a plot like this author.

I loved it! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that the relationship between the two could have been better developed. I missed a slower buildup, even though I understood the author’s intent. Everything was described through Mione’s memories, but I personally enjoy dialogue more! Haha.

And oh my God, the anxiety I felt with Mione not regaining her magic… Senlinyu really loves putting her through sacrifices, doesn’t she? I mean, come on! Losing her memory was bad enough in manacled.

Anyway, I loved it!

Ще один фанфік про відносини між Драко і Герміоною, і знову тут головний герой просто одержимий героїнею і готовий спалити весь світ заради неї. Все-таки, авторка талановита і, як на мене її роботи заслуговують на повноцінні книги.

Ця робота не така склянна як "Закованні", але не зважаючи на те її дуже цікаво читати. Сподобалася хімія між героями, але я не можу їх сприймати як Драко і Герміону, все ж по канону не могло бути між ними саме таких відносин, як в цій історії. Це як якийсь паралельний всесвіт.

Unique storyline, with good characters. I liked feeling like I could learn more about the universe than the original JKR books wrote about. Learning about magical bonding and Veela was different and enjoyable.

The love was a bit instalove at first which is why it wasn’t a 4 or 5 star, wasn’t as believable as it could have been. Also no major emotions, crying/laughing, were triggered except general contentment from reading something well written with an interesting plot. However, it was a great, easy read, and I got to be in that universe again so would recommend.

Honestly, this one was about to get my very first single star rating until I got to the chapter end notes (number 1).

It’s since been redeemed, and I feel comfortable with how much I enjoyed this - strange as it was. (Feathers? Everywhere? Like…. everywhere?)

Essentially, 5 stars.
But. I knocked off a star for the emotional turmoil I was in for about 40% of the book until I was placated and reassured by chapter end note #1.

I don’t fully know why but I am loving this Dramone fanfic! This one has them after the books and H is working in ministry of Magic as magical creature ambassador (seems super plausible) and Draco is a lobbyist.

He’s also Veela which I forgot was a thing and he’s bonded with Hermione but would rather die than force a relationship on her.

It was a fun read! I liked that Harry, Ron, Ginny and Luna made appearances too!

I liked the way this was written, the end didn’t hit for me but I love a good idiots to lovers & hermione piecing together her feelings.

"Potter," he said in a tense voice, "I'm trusting you that nothing is going to happen to her." Harry met Draco's eye. "You're not the only one who'd die for her, Malfoy. In fact, you're rather late to the party."
