Lennox Summers had her life turned upside down in the blink of an eye. She's still adjusting to her new normal, but omega biology waits for no one, and according to her lab work, her first heat is coming right after the New Year.

With The Omega Exchange's New England location at winter capacity, Lennox has no choice but to stay at a local bed and breakfast to wait for a spot to open up.

What she's not expecting is to be so drawn to the former pro-hockey player owner of the bed and breakfast or his gruff twin brother.

Between the two, the holiday season is definitely looking up.

Until a blast from the past comes in the form of one DEA agent, Malik Thorne.

Can Lennox finally take her future into her own hands? Or will everyone's differences be too great to overcome?

Lennox’s novella is set during the holiday season, but it's more of a backdrop than a plot point. You can read Wild Card as a complete standalone or as a fun add on to end the Assurance Security Series on a lighter note. More info can always be found in the Author's Note.

I wouldn't know what to do with myself if Bear grabbed my hand, threatened to spank me, then brought me home to take care of me.
So I'm not judging Lennox too hard for being all up in his lap the very next day. WC is fast laced as should be apparent from the novella title. I didn't think the story suffered for it. This is just a fun holiday romp.

Rarely am I so torn on how to rate a book.
When compared to some things I've read this year is it the deepest? No. I never expect that when a title is novella though.
I would say heed the information in the blurb and authors note. It's not a full length title and you may be disappointed if that's what you're looking for.
That being said I enjoyed it for what it was.
It wasn't pure fluff with Lennon and Thorn's issues and Bear and Rush unique twin dynamic. It also wasnt on par with the levels of emotion in left in ruins or out of options.
4.25
A lot of spice but it didn't overwhelm the story.

80% dnf got the ick:
-“little one” 🛑
-no real relationship building just straight to bed
-spice wasn’t hot just boring heat haze, blacking out and scooping bodily fluids and degradation. It felt gross like she was an inanimate object.
-one of the MMC debuts a pelvis tat with valkyries after breakup and her name across but it’s also on his erect penis is on there somehow in gothic script? 😳 “LENNOX”

As per usual, Jillian West absolutely knocked it out of the park.

This was the perfect ending to the Assurance Security series. I *loved* Lennox and loved that we got her story and happy ending right after reading about her sister’s HEA.

This is the perfect story with a holiday backdrop.. it was cozy and sweet and I loved it. I dont know that is necessarily a holiday book but the backdrop is def there. Also, I know this says it’s a novella, but for people who are used to reading books that are a bit shorter, this could probably be considered a regular sized book. It’s not, like, 80-140 pages which is what I consider a novella. This is more of a short (for this author) novel. 🩷

Tropes:

🌸Holiday
🌸Second Chance
🌸TWIN SANDWICH
🌸Grumpy x sunshine
🌸Undercover DEA agent hero
🌸Breeding kink (no pregnancy!)
🌸Hurt/Comfort
🌸Size difference
🌸”It will fit”
🌸DVP
🌸”Mine”
🌸groveling by one character

I absolutely loved each one of the guys.. I loved the second chance romance and I honestly don’t think you even needed to read the last book to understand what was going on with that relationship. It’s explained very well in this book and gives you plenty of background, so this can 10000% be read as a stand-alone without needing to go back and read anything else from this series (though I would *highly* suggest that you read this entire series!!!)

The spice is freaking HOT AF. I absolutely loved it. Lennox knows shes about to start her heat so she’s checked into a B&B waiting for a room to open up at the Omega Exchange close to where she’s at. There she meets twin hotties- One who runs the B&B/Bar she’s staying at (and loves to take care of her!!!) and his brother who runs the only Bar/Nightclub in town and is a TOTAL grump. The “only soft for her” trope is hot af here. He takes care of her so much and refuses to let her out of his sight from the moment he sees her. Our third guy is her second chance. He met her when she was living in NY— he was a part of the mafia, but turned out to be an undercover DEA agent (we’re talking DEEP undercover). He chose to break it off with her to protect her as a ton of shit was going down and he thought he would be able to go after her right away after he went back to the DEA after making arrests. Well, he didnt. He got caught up in bureaucratic tape so it was WEEKS later when he finally got to catch up to her. But once he’s with her he tells her multiple times he REFUSES to let her go.

Lennox is hilarious. A few different times she straight up tells him “you’re hotter when you STOP TALKING.”😂

Huge thanks to the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

This is such a cute, sweet omegaverse. I’m excited to get Lennox’s story, I needed to see her and Thorne make up and for her to find her pack. If you’re looking for a fast paced omegaverse, with tons of spice and three sweet alphas then this book is for you!

This was such a fun and cute read! I wanted to know more about Lennox, something about her made me intrigued and she was incredible to read. She’s someone I think I’d enjoy being around lol her past with Thorne was the sprinkle of angst I needed. Getting introduced to Bear & Rush left me hungry for a twin sandwich too. They were so sweet and protective over Lennox, gosh I want them all (I have a soft spot for Bear tho that man is yummy like I want my own giant too please).
Assurance Security - such an entertaining series. Wonderful characters and some appearances here and there, but you can totally read them as a standalone too. But please, don’t sleep on the incredible stories.

Lennox is mine. I’m not above murdering anyone who tries to keep her from me.

If Jillian writes it, I’ll read it! There is so much to love in this quick read. It is such a sweet (and spicy) OV novella! While it is holiday adjacent, it is a perfect read year-round. Read it for an uplifting and heartwarming treat!

There are three all-in MMCs, instant connections, and high spice. These males may have taken a page out of Ranger's book but learn to share - even as they have images of maiming the others to have Lennox for their own.

This is a fast burn and spicy why choose romance where Lennox is the center of ALL the attention. Loads of sexy times and aftercare, plus the normal OV goodness of scenting, slick, knotting, and claiming bites.

While this can be read as a complete standalone, I recommend reading the earlier books in the Assurance Security series. Wild Card ends in a HEA.

We can always count on Jillian to nail the tropes and keep the book light all while discussing some tough topics! I love her books so much! They're always such a swoon worthy adventure.

This was a short light and fluffy read giving us the HEA we needed for Lennox. We met her very briefly during her sister's book, Three Of A Kind. This book definitely brings the perfect closure. I have been so obsessed with this series from the very beginning.

"𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑳𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒙 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒊𝒏 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉. 𝑺𝒉𝒆’𝒔 𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒕, 𝒂 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒇𝒚 𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒔𝒐 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒆, 𝒊𝒕’𝒔 𝒊𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒌𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒎𝒚 𝒘𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝒖𝒑."

As usually Jillian gave us the most delicious alphas.

I LOVED BEAR. His grumpy "only soft for her" (and his dog) personality was my favorite.

“𝑰’𝒅 𝒃𝒆 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒄𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒃𝒂𝒊𝒕, 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆. 𝑾𝒆’𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒕-𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒅, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑰 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒕𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒔𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒏’𝒕 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒃𝒍𝒆.”
“𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝑰 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝒊𝒕 𝒕𝒐.”

Rush was a total golden retriever.

"𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒈𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒆 𝒃𝒖𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒐𝒃𝒃𝒍𝒚 𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒔,”

Thorne's persistence won him so many brownie points in my book! I loved the relationship each of them shared with Lennox!

“𝑰𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒄𝒂𝒏’𝒕 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒇𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒕 𝒊𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑰’𝒍𝒍 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅, 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒂 𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆. 𝑴𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒊𝒄𝒆 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒔 𝒂𝒈𝒐. 𝒀𝒐𝒖’𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒆, 𝑳𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒙.”

I couldn't wait to meet Lennox in her own story, and what a treat that it was a holiday novella! I loved seeing Lennox and Thorne reunited. Our goal was no pushover, and she really made him work for forgiveness; Lennox turned out to be one of my favourite Jillian FMC’s!

I adored her twin alphas, Rush and Bear. The five of them made an amazing pack in this super sweet and very spicy omegaverse!

Thank you so much for my ARC copy!

Sweet and easy read full of groveling, knots and heat!!!

Jillian is a queen of Omegaverses and her connected Assurance Security books are some of my favorites! Lennox is a sassy and sweet omega who has childhood hangups, Not to mention the pain of a painful break up. When things do not go as planned for her coming heat, Faith has a funny way of making things right! If you love, sweet, growly, alphas, look at her and die vibes, you will adore this book!

"Wild Card" is a charming holiday novella that follows Lennox, the sister of Brooklyn who we briefly met in "Three of a Kind." The story revolves around her relationships with three contrasting men: the grisly caretaker Bear, his charming ladies man twin Rush, and the initially off-putting ex… Thorne. Big doe-eyed Lennox is adorable and sweet, contrasting her height and personality with the men. However, I didn’t think I was going to accept Thorne, but his transformation took him from a straight up AH to an accepted part of the ensemble.

This was a super quick holiday read with a satisfying blend of both sweetness and high OV heat.

I'm at the point where I'll read anything this author puts out. Even my least favorite of her books were all fun reads.

This one is a cute insta-love-ish OMV. It felt very fast, and was a quick read overall. There wasn't a lot of angst despite the second chance aspect, which is different from the other books in this story. This one was a much faster connection overall, and it lacks the security/mafia/high stakes aspects of the other books in this series.

With that said, I liked that it was set in the same world, and we saw a few of the same things like the lightning scent of soul matches. It was a much sweeter read overall.

I did feel that the one MMC who needed the second chance was forgiven far too quickly with hardly any grovel. She went into heat and all was forgiven then, which was disappointing.

She also bonded with all of them because she was in heat, which took the place of forming relationships. On one hand, it was short enough of a read that I didn't mind that too much. It was clear it was meant to be a quick but strong connection. But on the other hand, I'd have liked to see more of their time together before she went into heat and they all came out of it in love.

Lennox fell in love with an alpha that broke her heart. Sure, there were extenuating circumstances, but he still walked away. She's nursed her heartbreak, but with her heat coming up, she can't ignore the fact she needs alphas.

Rush and Bear fraternal twins are in the right place. When one chaotic omega shows up at their businesses, they know she needs a keeper. She's not doing a great job caring for herself.

Thorne made the only choice he could to keep Lennox safe. Now, he's going to have to beg for a second chance with her. How can he prove he's 100% committed to her? Will she give him a second chance, or will she turn to the 2 new alphas?

This should be read after you read Three of a Kind. Lennox's story starts in that one on the edges of her sister's story. While we didn't get a chance to really know her, the little that was disclosed frustrated me. She was speedrunning into bad choices, or so it seemed. In this one, we get a better understanding of her relationship and why she was unwilling to give up Thorne.

Rush and Bear are new additions, and I loved them! Fraternal twins sign me up! Bear reminded me a lot of Murphy from A Pack for Christmas. Thorne was all about Lennox and was willing to put in the work to prove he wasn't walking away again.

Sweet perfection

This s a novella length addition to the Assurance Security series, though you do not have to have read the others. Thorne and Lennox’s history took place in a previous book, but you will not be lost without having read it. Their brief relationship and traumatic breakup is explained , so you’ll be fine.

This is a quick sweet, steamy, low angst fun Omegaverse read. I love that each of the guys have very distinct personalities, which is sometimes a challenge in RH genre books. They’re all great- none of the cliche “I don’t want a mate” alphas here. I love that Lennox doesn’t fall for Thorne right away. He knew he screwed up and was ready to work for her, even if it took forever. And his screw up meant she found two amazing alphas before he won her back. Lots of possessive and protective vibes, loads of caregiving, and plenty of 🔥🔥. Just a fun read all around.

This was a just about perfect holiday ov novella. It was really fun to see Lennox’s happily ever after, especially since last reading her sister’s. The MMC’s were just perfect, Rush has golden retriever but sexy vibes, Bear is, well, huge, overprotective grump. And Thorne is dark and obsessed with Lennox after previously dating. This was just so cute, it was a fun little Christmas short but within the work of Jillian West we know and love. And the spice is, as always, fun and dirty. Overall just great, definitely recommend reading!

Absolutely another amazing book by Jillian West! One of my favorite OV authors. This was a great book where we meet/see more of characters from Brooklynns book. I love how there’s always one slightly unhinged alpha. Bear is so amazing! He was one of my favorites from this holiday themed book. It is fast paced but the characters had enough information that I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. The guys adore Lennox and it is so nice. A lot of the story is focused around her heat but I loved all of it!

It’s peculiar to read a story set around Christmas, with snow all around, while it’s one of the last hot summer days outside. It made me a bit nostalgic about the end of summer, while also looking forward to everything I love about winter.

“Wild Card” is a true comfort read, and it made me all warm and fuzzy inside. I wasn’t entirely sure about Lennox before reading her story, and now I think she’s a wonderful young woman. And the men that ultimately become her pack, are exactly what she needs: protective, growly, hard on the outside and absolute mush around their woman. This is the kind of book that makes me wish I was an omega myself. Cause let’s be honest: who wouldn’t want courting gifts, pampering and a few hot men who know their way around a woman’s body?

This standalone is on the shorter side, but a true spicy comfort read and the perfect book to follow up the Assurance Security series.

Wild Card is a short Novella from the Assurance Security series, it's a cross between a small town and christmas story that meets Omegaverse.

Lennox's story wasn't one I was too fussed about, but it rounded off the snips of her and Thorne we got in other books. With a broken heart and a heat approaching she goes to be near a clinic and ends up finding herself packed up pretty quickly.

This was a feel good insta love with twin sandwiches, nesting, heats, holiday vibes.

Jillian West’s omegaverses always feel like a warm hug and obviously I had to read it right when it came out. The cosy comfort she accomplishes in her stories is one of my favourite things about this genre and I’ve been eating this entire series up. After reading about what happened between Lennox and Thorne in her sister’s book, she really deserved her HEA as well. The low angst high attraction caregiving is so heartwarming and the butterflies are unrivalled.

This was a light-hearted Omegaverse novella, with the focus pretty much being on the FMC Lennox barreling towards her heat and gathering up Alphas to help her through it. Even though it's purported to be a Christmas novella, that's more so a background element and not really the focus. The author highlights at the beginning of the book that it is not plot heavy, and that aspect is true. The main meat of this one is just smutty. There's a little drama with an ex-boyfriend of Lennox's, but it all turns out okay in the end. But once that drama is cleared, there's just lots of sex and getting the FMC through her heat. While some Omegaverse books tend to gloss over the time during the heat, this novella's entire purpose was describing all the salacious details of Lennox's heat. Here for it. I only gave this one three stars because of my issues with the FMC (see below) But the smut was on point and I liked literally everything else about this book. Big fan of the alphas and how they act, and the ending as well! I would absolutely recommend reading this one!

Lennox certainly doesn't fall into a traditional Omega roll from the books that I've read. In other stories, the Omega tries to please and cater to her Alphas. And while that does get tedious and some of the characters break from that mold, you know what you're getting when you read an Omegaverse book. Lennox is equal parts a breath of fresh air as an Omega character and frustrating. She is stubborn, speaks her mind, and demands the things she wants. And while it's nice to see a FMC taking what she wants, at times it comes across as pushy and overly demanding. These guys are bending over backwards to accommodate her, and she keeps telling them what else they can do for her, what else she wants. I just feel like there should be a give and take, and Lennox gives off the vibe that she's all take. She might say the right things, but it's her actions that scream something else.

Wild Card, book 5 of the Assurance Security series by Jillian West @jillianwestauthor. First, I am a fan of Jillian’s & this book was no different!

I thoroughly enjoyed & loved reading this book about Lennox, Thorne, Bear & Rush! If you like Omegaverse, RH, no MM, ex-hockey player turned Bed & Breakfast Inn owner, Bar owner, ex-DEA agent & a server, then you'll love this book.

Great stand alone in the Assurance series. I absolutely adored Bear he was so vulnerable and sweet in such an unexpected way. I liked that Lennox had her own struggles as an t shows that there is a HEA for all.

Prolly around 2.75⭐️ I read it with a straight face, maybe because it was short like novella so the feelings are not deep enough to connect with the characters. Still, it was cute, the guys was nice
