A case of mistaken identity leads Emma to believe Alex is a tech-savvy hero, when in reality, he's a hacker with a mysterious past.
As they begin to spend more time together, their off-limits attraction blooms into something beautiful, but Alex's dangerous secrets threaten to pull them apart.
As they navigate the complexities of their relationship, from an enemies-to-lovers dynamic to the revelation of Alex's true identity, they must face the heart-wrenching decision of whether to pursue their love or let it slip away.
This book centres around hacker, Alex and bookstore owner, Emma. Alex is trying to get out of hacking and to go to college. There is not much detail about Emma other than she owns a book store. The author does not give any information on her background and how she came to own a bookstore. The book mostly centred around Alex and his background, so the book felt unbalanced. There are huge gaps in the storyline, not much depth to the story - it almost feels like a summary rather than a short story. The plot is not plausible and tech people do not go to bookstores for resources, they look up all their information online. Emma closed her bookstore to randomly meet him for coffee, what about her customers? There were discrepancies - initially Alex had blue eyes, then in the next chapter he had topaz coloured eyes and then later in the book, blue eyes again. The main characters emotions were not expressed well and the dialogue was stilted. This book felt incomplete and it was not well written. I did manage to finish it but I did not enjoy the book.
Their Inexplicable Insta-Connection - The story was okay overall, but it seemed to be all over the place, which meant it didn’t flow effortlessly. I don’t know what it was, but the story just felt off all the way through, like there were parts of the story missing. It is still worth a read, as another reader may enjoy it more than I did.
I received a copy of this book free and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
Not much of a story. Alex is a hacker and hacks into casinos for his uncle. He promises to send Alex to college but he finally realizes they are empty promises. He meets bookstore owner Emma and they become close. He is contacted by Resistance who help free him from his uncle.
