Could online dating be this single black woman's key to finding laughter and love?
Veronica Ferris, a curvaceous San Diego paralegal, is tired of dating men who take her kindness for weakness and her love for granted. When her best friend suggests online dating, Veronica is skeptical. But after some encouragement from her boss, she posts a profile on the Plenty-of-People.com dating website. From the pile of disappointing but hilarious messages she receives, there is one a message from a 6-foot-2 Hispanic admirer with no photos on his profile. Veronica decides to take a chance, wooed by their fun and deep conversations. Is this mystery man a fraud or her fantasy come true?
Although I loved reading this book, I felt like it could have been better. As a reader/reviewer, I didn't like the fact that it started off slow, and ended abruptly without an epilogue.
In my opinion, this book had the potential to be a 5 star read, but it was the little annoyances, that brought the rating down to 3 stars. Hopefully in the future, the author will give more consideration to how she ends her stories. (Yes, half way decent epilogues are always appreciated...)
Um, wth was up with the ending?! Who do you know would just give up there job like that?! It seemed thrown together. Whatever, only thing I liked about this book was the chat messages. I personally would not have tolerated waiting that long without meeting him.
