When Dreams Return

Rate this book
it's Hallowe'en and it's a full moon. When Chelle is persuaded by Sara to use an ancient book of magic spells to conjure up her ideal man, what happens next is the last thing Chelle expected. Is her husband Andy's disappearance linked to a strange black cat with vivid emerald eyes? And what is the strange shadow in the attic of her newly renovated Victorian house, where she must spend tonight alone. For a girl whose artwork depends upon her elusive dreams for inspiration, will the supernatural goings-on be a nightmare, or the answer to her prayers?

When you're 12 and your teacher says 'please finish your creative writing homework - I'm dying to find out what happens...' it makes you think about your future. So I promptly signed up to become... an accountant. Then a radio and TV presenter, now a QVC shopping channel presenter. But at least I get to do a weekly blog - on qvcuk.com - (12,000-17,000 views per week) - always longer than they should be, 'cos - of course - I'm supposed to be writing!

'Serial writing course attender', RNA New Writers' Scheme, and script-writer wannabe, I am loving having finally finished my first trilogy of steamy romantic novels ('Hawaiian Escape/Affair/Retreat'). Now available on paperback on amazon - PG available too if you don't want steamy version!

There's another book called 'Till the Fat Lady Slims' too - a semi autobiographical weight loss book which is being updated for September 2014. it helped me lose 35lb in the early 2000's so give it a go if you fancy. Actually, opt for eBook then you can always get a refund if it's not your cup of black tea!

Plus, there's a couple of short stories - with more on the way! From gentle Valentine's romances to a spooky supernatural one, and watch out for more this Hallowe'en!

Finally, there's always my only paid commission (so far) - good old 'Clive the Camel' - a very short kids' story, broadcast by Buena Vista (Disney) 'Rise and Shine' breakfast show from the early 90's. Considering the file was written about eight computers ago, finding it would be a tall order! One day... : - )

My next project will be based on 'how to find a husband' and it's going to be a script first - with a time-slip plot, partly current day, party 1930's.

Would love to connect with you and if you've read any of my titles so far, do let me know what you think! Twitter, facebook or via my website!

or email me debbie@debbieflint.com

Plus check out my author questions section on here, and my blog, updated regularly (on top of the three I write on my own website and for QVC each week! lol)

best wishes and happy reading!

When dreams return

So confusing. I don't believe in magic. It was a book that I would really enjoy. This book is suitable for preteens

I really enjoyed this little novella. The characters were great and the little hints of something mysterious was enough to want you to keep reading to find out what happened next. But the twist in the tale made my hairs stand on end and left me whispering "oh my god". I didn't see that twist coming! It was a good story, magical and warm and heartbreaking too.

Debbie's writing just keeps getting better and better.

This story is a complete contrast to the Hawaiian series and tells the spooky tale of two girls who are married to brothers and what happens one Halloween.

There is plenty to get the heart racing and with a really good twist in the tale. Can't tell you as you have to read it yourself.....

Although I don't normally read short stories, this had me gripped right from the start. Full of twist and turns along the way. Nice twist in the end! I will definitely take a closer look at short stories and this author is on my radar. X

I enjoyed this book. Not too scary, but there were moments when I noticed my heart beating faster. It is a splendid short story (I read it in an evening), and does make you wonder 'what happened next?'
