Eva Tamke and Brett Wilson went on a date and then had a one night stand. The next morning Brett gets a text saying she can't see him anymore. Tamke is a RN and Brett is a medevac pilot . Eva shows up to fill as the nurse on the flight crew and things become awkward. Eva's grandmother is in the hospital in Encantador so she agrees to fly as the nurse since that is where they are going and she can go visit her grandmother . When there is a helicopter crash due to bad weather there are some fatalities . Eva and Brett survive the crash and rely on each other as they are stranded in a Texas desert with a serial killer at large. Will they be able to survive with limited supplies?

Quick Thoughts: I had a great time with this one. Super action packed and also a steamy hot romance. This is exactly what I want in a Romantic Suspense category.

Stranded starts off with a bang, literally. These two meet and have an incredible night together…but the morning after, regrets and life stress set in for the FMC and she basically gives him the preemptive heave ho. He’s super disappointed, but can’t spend too much time on it because he has to go to work. His annoyance with her feels genuine and her frustration about family stress and pressure feels earned.

He’s a medical helicopter pilot and she’s a trauma nurse at the same Austin hospital. When they are tasked with flying a super dangerous criminal to San Antonio for a trial appearance they decide to deal with the awkwardness by cold professionalism.

Unfortunately, things take a dangerous and deadly turn and they end up running for their lives in the desolate Texas hill country while the weather and a killer try to take them out.

This is the follow up to the last Texas Law series book which I also thought was excellent. Bokal delivers the perfect mix of steam, emotions, and conflict. Characters from previous books drop in and continue their exciting stories. She doesn’t shy away from danger, or flawed people either.

Stranded has a “danger bang!” mid journey that’s super hot and felt right for these two characters.

Can’t wait for the next installment of this series.

Steam/Spice Level: very steamy scenes, open door, in the bed, hot times
