Em & Rio
These stories are no more than a single bite, and I find myself craving the whole meal. More world building. More character building. Just more story. Since these are chronological, we get a throw away line that Katie is happy with her riggers, but mostly she’s here as the supportive bestie. (A bestie that will get you off in a pinch.)
Em has been crushing on Rio forever. He’s her older brother’s best friend. She’s been coming to the club a few weeks, always watching him, but has yet to scene with anyone. (It felt like a probationary period, before you’re offered a full membership.)
He’s watched her as well, watching her grow comfortable with herself and the dance club side of things. Only she’s been wearing a mask, so he has no idea who she is. But tonight she’s joining the big girls & boys, and the mask is going. She offers herself off as part of a charity action. Doms paying for the opportunity to scene with her the first night. She locks eyes with Rio and he places the winning bid.
When he unmasks his submissive, he’s shocked to see his best friend’s kid sister, who he has been lusting at since she came home from college. At first he pulls back, thinking his tastes are too rough for the girl he’s known. But eventually she convinces him to play, followed by sex.
Post-orgasm, at first she thinks he’s rejecting her, but he declares he wants it all, no matter how her brother reacts. Existing off stage relationship, but damn, that was fast. Instalove.
Okay, major complaint. BDSM is all about negotiation and limits and consent and safe sex. They went right into the scene and sex without any talk. Apparently she had some paperwork “on file” with the club, but Rio didn’t take the time to study it or check in with Em. And there was no talk of condoms and/or alternate birth control. You’d think stuff like that would be more strictly enforced in a private club context. And if you’re having sex with your best friend’s sister, you might want to make peace with him before knocking her up.
And Rio might have been a big bad Dom, but the kinks here were fairly tame. Though the anal play in particular should have been negotiated.

I rate this story 3.5 stars. A story of a woman who goes to great lengths to obtain the love of her life. Emerson wants Rio, her brother’s best friend, and Rio is trying to be a good best friend by leaving his friend’s younger sister alone. Emerson goes after what she wants and finds something about herself that she didn’t know about. I like the way the story weaves her desire for Rio in one look that takes him completely. A HEA.

Emerson will take it as far as she needs to if it means Rio will notice her, or at least acknowledge her. What we learn very quickly is Rio has noticed the mysterious woman in the mask, but there is something familiar he just can’t pinpoint.
In this short story about Cat and Mouse (not always sure who was the cat and who was the mouse J) Ms. Gayle again brings her readers into the world of Dominants and submissives, of fetishes and deep desires. As a reader, I was immersed in the world and would have been completely happy for this book to continue on a chapter or two.
For readers looking to take a new step into the underground world of fetishes, this is a great first step. For readers already there, this one will be enjoyable but I highly suggest her third installment of Whipped.
I am quickly finding if it has the name Eliza Gayle attached, I am already drawn in.

This time around, we meet Emerson, who has a crush on her big brother’s friend Rio, since she was a teen. As much as Rio wants Em, he will never act upon his desire.
But she has a plan, to become a submissive at Purgatory, were Rio is a Dom. Wearing a mask, Em is going to be presented for auction. She is taking a big risk, what if Rio doesn’t bid. Has he even noticed her? What will happen when her mask is removed?
Rio has not just noticed Em but is intrigued by the mystery of why she feels the need to hide behind a mask. When he finds out that Em is being auction, he determent that no one else will have her.
As with the first book, Displayed was short, sexy and very entertaining. I was a bit disappointed that Katie, who we met in Book one Roped, only made a small appearance. Then again, this was a novella, maybe I was expecting too much.
I am moving on to Book 3, Whipped

Eliza's Purgatory shorts are just that - little bites of sexy goodness that leave you wishing you have the whole candy bar instead. Displayed introduces us to Emerson and Rio. Em is Rio's best friend's little sister, but he sees her as more. Doesn't matter though - he knows it's hands off where she's concerned. Em, who's unwilling to accept that, hides behind a mask at the Purgatory Club where she's found Rio. On the night of her big reveal, she wants nothing more than to be chosen by Rio.
This series, so far, gets a D for its torturously small word count, which doesn't allow for much character history. But, what it lacks in length, it makes up for with its heat.

This was a good story. Bit shorter than I would have really liked. I would have liked to see a little more tension between the two characters, I thought this could have made an excellent novel instead of a novella. But, the story was good. It was steamy, even if a bit rushed.
I read this out of order, Amazon doesn't really seem to care to put series orders on the kindle menu. But, it was enough to make me want to go back and read the one I missed.

The 'Purgatory Trio' of short stories are very well written BDSM erotica.
They are basically BDSM scenes that involve members of the Purgatory Club. The stories are well constructed and meet the challenge of short story writing.

I’ve read this book before and really enjoyed it, the narrator did justice to the story, she has a nice voice that’s easy to listen to. Her pronunciation is clear.
No unnecessary descriptions of surroundings
Good dialogues
Well described characters with feelings that made them realistic.
The scenes are great and tasteful (for a person that loves BDSM books)

Unluckily for them, she only has the desire to submit to one man, Rio. He is the man that she has been lusting for years. Unfortunately, he is the only man who will probably run a mile when she is finally unmasked, as she is his best friends little sister. Rio is can’t help but be attracted by the mysterious Em. When he hears that she is to be auctioned at the clubs notorious after-club party, how can he resist? However, will he send her packing when he discovers who she is? Or will he fulfil all her desires and more?
Wow, this really is a story of how far a woman will go to win the man of her dreams. The only question is will it be enough? I enjoyed this one far more than the first in the series. The sex is off the charts in the smut factor and I enjoyed the fact that, although Emerson blatantly enjoys being “displayed”, there is still an element of intimacy kept throughout the scenes. The characters were very engageable; Emerson is a fabulous lady who is willing to do almost anything to be seen as more than the kid sister of his friend. What she doesn’t really expect I to find that the club has more to offer than just Rio; she really does need that extra bit of kink. Rio is a stubborn ass therefore I liked him. He really takes that guy code thing seriously and tying up his best buds little sister is DEFINITELY on the banned list. Will he let that get in the way of his chance of happiness with a woman who not only suits him, but also understands and shares his needs? I really like Ms Gayle’s writing, she has enough knowledge on the topic to keep it realistic, but doesn’t try to shove the different toys down your throat; I looked up a few of them mentioned because they intrigued me, but it wouldn’t have made any difference to the tale if I hadn’t. Word to the wise (This is a BDSM book, I don’t know why I need to warn you of anything!) but there is anal play and F/F play. Oh and we get to see more of the players from book one in the club. Turns out I like Katie a lot more in this book, she has some balls :D

Book Two in a three-part series of novellas based on "scenes" at the Purgatory Club and rooted in the BDSM lifestyle. Thought this story, like book one, was well written and yet felt that the bevity of the work detracted from telling the story fully. It is one reason that I have never really liked short stories or novellas. Ms Gayle is a very talented writer, but even her expertise is stretched in getting the point across or making all the aspects of the story hang together. Even extending this work just a bit into a short novel would have gone a long way in redeeming this story. Just didn't feel I had sufficient time to get my mind around some very fascinating characters. That being said, it is a work that, for all its limitations size-wise, is a good read.

I really enjoyed this installment of the Purgatory series. I loved that Em went for what she wanted and I loved that Rio gave it to her. I like that these stories are more than just a sexual experience and have the potential to lead to something great. I also enjoy the slight connectedness of the characters as you read on.

Short and sweet/hot. This story is about Emerson who's had a crush on her older brother's friend Rio since she was a young teenager. Now out of college she decides to go after him by putting herself up for auction at Purgatory, a BDSM club Rio frequents. Well written, and very hot.

I guess my biggest complaint is that the novella was way too short. Quick sweet read. There isn't a lot a depth or connection for me. I enjoy Eliza Gayle's books so I enjoyed the tale but Em and Rio's was too short really get into the story.

I loved seeing Katie again, and had become nervous about the prospect of not hearing anything about her story in this sequel to Roped. Lovely fast paced (incredibly short) erotica. Continuing to enjoy Ms. Gayle's character development achieved in so few pages.

I liked it more than the previous one, and I believe it was steamier. However, the romance between the main characters wasn't that much believable, probably because there was little development, done in a rush. Anyway, it was a quick read that I enjoyed.

I wish these books went a bit longer, but Ms. Gayle sure does hit the mark with them. Displayed is the perfect title for the story, and the characters make you smile.
