For the fourth anthology in the Fiction River line, paranormal romance writer Kristine Grayson invited a stellar lineup of cross-genre authors to tell heartwarming stories of love set in the holiday season. From Regency England to modern day Portland, Oregon, ghosts facilitate—or try to stop—true love in the dark at the end of the year. Featuring stories by bestselling authors Mary Jo Putney and Carole Nelson Douglas to fan favorites M.L. Buchman and Anthea Lawson, Christmas Ghosts provides the perfect beginning to the mid-winter festivities.
Another wonderful collection edited by the folks over at WMG Publishing. Yes, it is not Christmas or the Christmas season, but sometimes one can be rather far behind in their regular reading and holiday reading can turn into summer reading. Given how crazy times have been I barely noticed the somewhat reversed seasons. A few of my favorite stories: - The Farewell Gift - Christmas, Interrupted - Miss Merriweather's Christmas Follies If you are in mood for some soft romantic tales (that also happen to include a ghost or two) you will find this edition of Fiction River perfectly timed for your reading pleasure. Enjoy!
Another one of Lisa Silverthorne's never miss short romances that a like a sweet confection between stories to clear your literary palate. You know that these members of the never-ending true love tribe will be able to surmount their stars crossing and will end up safely entwined in their Happily Ever After. There's enough tension to keep you reading, but enough certainty of the HEA that it makes this the perfect comfort read for all of us with the heart of a romantic, no matter how hidden in real life.
I was unaware these were romance novels with a paranormal twist. I don’t read anthologies,. By the time I get into the stories, they’re over. This set, however, intrigued me because of the variety of stories offered. I’m glad I did and I highly recommend this Christmas anthology.
Not a bad collection, though romance stories are not my thing. Some were pretty well written and I mostly enjoyed how Christmas and ghosts were integrated into the stories. Kristine Rusch's story about theater and ghosts was the best one of the lot, but there were no klinkers, it just wasn't my bag is all.
More like 3.5 stars. A heart warming collection of romantic Christmas ghost stories, with touches of mystery, fantasy & science fiction. One or two were a teensy bit sappy, but most of them were just plain fun.
As a fan of short stories, fantasy and similar, I enjoyed reading this one.
Not every story was interesting to me, and I have read it a few months ago so I don't remember details, but I remember some were interesting and well done.
I'll probably reread it and write a loner/more detailed review,
An anthology of Christmas ghost stories (after the Victorian tradition). I liked two of the stories, but the rest were kind of meh. But then anthologies are always hit or miss.
I'm not a big romance fan, but some of these stories were quite good. Others weren't so great, but thus is always the peril of anthologies like this. I will continue reading Fiction River.
