Suppose that a single phone call is the only thing between you and the opportunity to start over? For a lonely man, that call comes in the middle of a heat wave, the phone ringing and overpowering the sounds of a dying air conditioner and thundering car stereos outside. The bags are packed, the house is empty. So what do you do next? You drive, of course.
The four short-short stories that make up Drive tell four distantly related stories of learning how to escape reality, sometimes for good. Drive is the first ebook available from indie author Roman Theodore Brandt.
Roman is not my legal name, but it's the name I've chosen to call myself because it sounds much more interesting than my real name. I was born nearly thirty years ago in the Midwestern frontier. I am an indie author, which makes me part of a very large group of authors who write independently of traditional publication. I have a lot of respect for authors who are able to publish traditionally, because it's a difficult business to break into that way. It takes a great deal of talent and determination.
