Amber Davison always imagined herself with the perfect life – she would grow up happy, attend University, become a surgeon and marry a handsome doctor. So, with all of that accomplished, why is Amber Pryor so very unhappy? Enter Elyse White, a savvy businesswoman who owns a chain of department stores with her long-time partner, Cora Fletcher. Acquainted through coincidence, their friendship could be the only thing that gives Amber the strength and determination to carry on with her life when everything she hoped for turns sour. Maybe it will even set her free…
All in all I enjoyed the book though there were a few bits that seemed unlikely. Most notably, it was difficult to believe that Amber-a Neurosurgeon (in training)- would have so much free time on her hands. I've never known any type of surgeon to have much time for anything beyond all that surrounds their particular field of specialty while still in training
The idea behind the story was good. I was just a little disappointed with the result. I had expected more. I felt that everything just wasn't good enough, for me to really empathize with the story and characters. Like there was something missing all the time. This is the first published book for this writer, unfortunately I'm not really impressed.
