Their mistake was thinking Gear would be unprotected...
Gear has been in love with Kai for as long as he can remember. When those feelings became too much, Gear does the only thing he can--run. He finds himself in Hanoi for an internship that could launch his fashion design career. But something isn't right. Feeling as if he is in danger, he calls Kai, and true to form, the beautiful guitarist drops everything to rush to Gear's side.
Gear is Kai's forbidden fruit. There are rules to staying hands off when it comes to one's best friend's brother. As much as Kai tries resisting, being in close quarters with Gear is test him in ways he never thought he would be.
Never have I purchased a sequel and consumed it as fast as I just did with Love Is. Now the wait for Seua and Bank’s story to be written... *sighs*
Kai and Gear's love story moves away from the university setting, but there are still plenty of Thai BL tropes to enjoy. Here are some of my favorites: ~kid abandoned by family but they return with their hands out when the kid grows up and is successful ~pull & crash into a naked chest ~run away to another country to avoid your feelings for someone ~find yourself in danger; call your family and not the authorities for protection ~two dudes / one motorcycle ~escape to a beach to think about "things" ~love confession while partner is asleep
It was great to watch Gear and Kai fall in love. Their friends were always supportive and repeatedly kept them from spinning out emotionally. Without their encouragement these two lovesick fools would have continued to hide from their feelings for each other and come up with excuses to not get together.
The sequel was just as enjoyable as the first book and I am very excited to continue this series as soon as possible.
