This cookbook reminded me a lot of a Rachael Ray cookbook. There were very few photographs of the dishes and some of the food combinations were just strange. Miller claims to have quick and simple recipes, but many of these ingredients people wouldn't normally have on hand. The whole concept of making meal kits and piggybacking on other recipes wasn't very clear. All in all, for the average home cook, the recipes don't seem very easy and they didn't all appeal to me.

This book is made to have some of the items you'll need made ahead which makes the preparation for the meal much quicker on busier nights. The chapters are separated by proteins, then side dishes/salads, and desserts. There are meals which can be made into "meal kits" and/or "morphed" into something else with the leftovers.

While I haven't really tried any of the recipes in this cookbook yet, I have read through it and want to own a copy of it rather than just copy of few recipes from it for the future. I like her approach to cooking and all of the options she gives; each recipe ends with different prep/cooking options such as doing it in the slow cooker instead of the oven or having everything prepped so you can just do the final cooking when you get home from work. While how to do this may seem obvious to some people, it is nice to have it all spelled out for you already.

I read one of her previous cookbooks and wasn't as impressed with it as I am this one. So unimpressed, I don't even remember which one it was. Anyway, I think this one is a keeper.

This book has some great strategies to help you get dinner on the table in a flash! Robin Miller shows how to do some prep ahead of time (meal kits) or make an extra meal ahead of time and freeze it for another day (bank a batch). She also tells you which meals work well in your slow cooker and more! The best part is the recipes are really tasty. Because let's face it, if dinner tastes like crap you've just wasted your time and money. I highly recommend this book.

Yumalicious. Second of her books. It has a wide variety of recipes and has either a morph, freeze, or slow cooker option for most recipes.

Can I just say I'm making the Calzones (pg. 36) tonight for dinner? I like that her recipes are fairly simple and are not time-intensive. I plan to try out a couple of recipes!

Some nice ideas. The biggest detraction is that the pictures aren't next to their recipes.
