In 529 A.D. Cybele and Diana are the Thelma and Louise of Rome. Both are on the lam to Constantinople, Cybele from her life as a prostitute, and Diana, a socialite, from being framed for the murder of her groom on their wedding night. Chloe, a modern archeologist uncovers the sarcophagus of a young woman and child in an ancient tomb in Istanbul (then Constantinople). Disturbing the tomb creates eerie disturbances in Chloe's life and danger to those around her. Are the two connected in some way? The lives of both women -- ancient and modern -- crackle with intrigue in Tanya Goodwin's hands. It's an irresistible tale of attraction, love, jealousy, and greed. A 5-star read!
