This is a beautiful art book with images of exceptional quality. This is the whole of the Sistine Chapel, not just the ceiling or The Last Judgement.

The images are well grouped and you see both a section and a closeup. There is no text on the pages with images except for the artist and the title of the piece. So you can go through and just enjoy the images for themselves. There are thumbnails at the end of the book with text that you can read and then go back to study the images.

Very well done!

Fundamentally, this is a good book, which provides a brief overview of the artwork located in the Sistine Chapel. The reader is informed on what each painting/section depicts and is also sometimes provided with wider context. However, the translation of this book really lets it down. There are some parts that are really incomprehensible, sparking questions for which google has no answer.

The most incredible room to exist. Pure beauty. A quick read that covers the art of the Sistine chapel while providing some insight to it’s history
