In a fun new culinary cozy mystery from USA Today bestselling author Sarah Fox, chocolatier and actress Becca Ransom must sift through suspects to clear her co-star's name when a suspicious death threatens to steal the limelight.
Spring has arrived in Larch Haven, Vermont, and the town is abuzz with excitement over a movie that’s being filmed among the picturesque canals and cottages. Actress-turned-chocolatier Becca Ransom is dipping her toes back into her old life by taking on a supporting role in the film while trying to keep her family’s chocolate shop well stocked with truffles and bonbons. When the film’s leading man—also Becca’s former tv show co-star—Cooper Graystone arrives in town with his entourage, several townsfolk have stars in their eyes. However, those stars dim when the film’s props master is found dead and Cooper finds himself in the spotlight of a police investigation. He turns to Becca for help and she soon uncovers secrets and grudges worthy of a soap opera plot. With a long list of suspects, Becca will have to sift through clues and motives to find the killer before the final cut.

Boulevard of Broken Creams by Sarah Fox the 3rd instalment in the "True Confections Mystery" series. I love this series and had been waiting patiently for book 3 and it did not disappoint!
Becca will have to sift through clues and motives to find the killer before the final cut.
I really enjoyed visiting Larch Haven , and the True Confections shop Again. It’s springtime in Larch Haven and Becca is staring in a movie that is being filmed there with some of her old co-stars. What could possibly go wrong …
It was entertaining, full of twists and turns and I didn’t completely guess whodunnit until Becca did.
I highly recommend this series to all my cozy loving friends and I can’t wait for book 4 to come out!
I requested and received an Advanced Reader copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my OWN.
I am so glad Ms Fox decided to continue this series on her own! This was truly a delightful, cozy mystery. Becca is a wonderful MC, not too pushy, not one who knows better than everyone else. She is smart, level-headed, curious, and has the knack for being in the right (or wrong) place at the right time. I love the town with it unique setup, the chocolate shop, the village of characters fun and frustrating, and the loving and real family Becca has around and supporting her. At this time, Becca gets to combine her past and present when a film crew comes to town for a made for TV movie. With her background, a connection with the male lead, and others on the set, Becca accepts a secondary role and enjoys doing a little acting while staying at home, keeping a finger in the chocolate shop and sharing her former profession with family and friends. When the props manager is found dead outside the props trailer, can the truth be found? Who wanted the man dead? Becca has to wonder, was it one of her Hollywood friends? Was it a local? Will her questions stir up trouble with her policeman friend? I have to tell you this one had an ending I never saw coming. Very clever. I definitely recommend this book.
This is the 3rd book in the True Confections series and the first self published one. I’m so glad Sarah Fox decided to continue this series on her own as it’s become a fast favorite. I truly wish the picturesque town of Larch Haven wasn’t fictional because I’d love to visit. Between the scenery, the cottages, the chocolate shop and the gondolas it actually is too good to be true! The romance part to this cozy isn’t cloyingly sweet but the MMC makes me kick my feet and squeal. I hope Sarah Fox will keep this series going on her own for many more books.
Chocolates, A movie crew, romance and a cozy mystery
Boulevard of Broken Creams is the 3rd book in the wonderful A True Confections Mystery by Sarah Fox. This is a really enjoyable cozy mystery with wonderful characters, family, friendship, romance, a movie production and a really good cozy mystery. Becca is the chocolatier for her family's chocolate shop in Larch Haven, VT. The town has cute shops, canals and gondolas like in Venice. A movie is being filmed there and Becca has a role in it. She used to be an actress so it is the best of both worlds and her friend Cooper is part of the movie. One of the actors ends up dead and Cooper is a suspect. There are secrets among the movie people and some other things going on that keep the story interesting. Becca and her crush Sawyer, a Police Officer, move to the next step in their relationship. Becca's best friend Dizzy is a great sidekick and friend. The book moves along at a good pace and the mystery kept me guessing. There are some twists and turns which results in an interesting finale without peril. The characters and friendships are what makes this series so cozy. I really enjoyed this latest addition to the series. #BoulevardOfBrokenCreams #ATrueConfectionsMystery #SarahFox
I’m so glad that this author decided to continue this series independently! Becca may have left Hollywood, but when Hollywood came to her in Larch Haven, Vermont, of course she took the supporting role offered to her. She gets to work with an old friend, have fun acting again, all in the comfort of the hometown she loves. When the film’s prop master is found dead, Becca’s old friend is among the suspects. Becca tries to help him while trying to keep up with her responsibilities at the chocolate shop, deepen the burgeoning relationship with local cop Sawyer, and fend off the malicious behavior of an old nemesis. Larch Haven is a marvelous community, fashioned after Venice, Italy. The film company takes precedence in this, the third book in the series, but Becca’s family and friends are still important support figures. There’s plenty of joy, sorrow, secrets and mistakes that sift to the surface when an investigation occurs. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I looked forward to reading time each day, and snuck in a few extra reading sessions for this book. And I can’t wait for the next one!
What more can you ask from a cozy - movies, murder, and mayhem?! Chocolate, you say? Well, there's that too! In Boulevard Of Broken Creams, the third installment of Sarah Fox's delightful True Confection cozy mystery series, Becca is on the set of a movie being filmed in her picturesque little town of Larch Haven. When someone on set is murdered and her friend becomes the number one suspect, Becca steps up to help prove his innocence. But will she become the next victim in the process? I throughly enjoyed this book, I was completely invested from the first page, to the very last, the storyline was easy to follow, while still being fast paced and the outcome was not obvious until it t was revealed. The only downside to this book was I had awful chocolate cravings! I would recommend it for all cozy lovers.
I was gifted a copy of this book which I voluntarily reviewed, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Very much enjoyed this latest adventure of Becca and crew and happy the author continued the series after her publisher decided not to! Hollywood has come to Becca this time around and a Hallmark-esque rom-com is being filmed in Larch Haven with one of Becca's old co-stars in the lead role. But of course, murder comes with Hollywood and a very unpleasant person who everyone hates ends up dead. Cue Becca asking too many questions and slight chaos ensues. I really adore this very Hallmark series (it was a bit meta this time around which I like an author that can poke fun at herself) - it's cozy, fun, I would totally visit Larch Haven if it was a place, and has a sweet romance baked into it to keep moving forward at a snail's pace.
I'm really enjoying this series and getting to know the characters. I really love Becca and Dizzy'd friendship. It also feels like Dizzy is a main charcter and not just the side kick. I'm also enjoying Becca's relationship with Sawyer.
This book has Becca back to acting in a movie that is being filmed in her hometown. It was fun to get to see Becca in a different setting other than her candy business. The mystery was also interesting and always there are many suspects and the killer was a shocker!
I loved this 3 installment of the True Confections Mystery series. We are back in Larch Haven with Becca as she is cast in a film shooting in her home town. Falling back into acting comes easily to her, but complications arise soon. Cooper is the movie's leading man and a good friend. Tongues start wagging in town about a possible romance. Add to this a murder and trying to work in her chocolate shop (with help from family, of course), and you have a great mystery with many different facets. I can't wait for the next one to come out!
So happy that the author continued this series. I love the setting and characters so much. Becca has the chance to combine acting and chocolate making in her home town. But when the prop master is found dead outside the prop trailer, Becca tries to figure out who could have wanted him dead. Sure of her fellow actors as innocent, who else could it be? The ending is a surprise and it was a very satisfying read. I hope there will be more in the series!
I am so happy the author continued this series. It is so good and I’m glad about the progress with the romance. This murder was so surprising! I did not guess this at all. Her bestie is so fun, I love when the MFC has a few people around her that help investigate the crime, it makes it more interesting to me. I hope that a fourth comes out cause I can’t wait for more!
Glad to see this series continue. I like the town and characters- and the chocolates and recipes! Slowed down a bit where not much progress was being made in the case, but instead we do see a change in Becca and Sawyer's relationship. A couple fun red herrings and a good ending. Not a conclusion I often see, but one I always enjoy. It's different and to me it feels fitting.
This was a fun cozy mystery. Very interesting characters and relationships. Enough twists and turns to keep me guessing who did the murder. The "Gossiping Grannies" are wonderfully annoying characters we love to hate. I hope she continues this series.
I'm so glad this series got another book! I love the combination of Becca's chocolatier and movie star days coming together in this book. The ending really surprised me.
I was so excited to see a third installment in the delicious True Confections mystery series. It was fun to see Becca return to acting, even for a short time. The murder itself was a puzzler, the plot as twisty as the canals that wind throughout the town. The surprise ending astonished and delighted me, leaving me hungry for another installment.
