Sometimes all you get is a single chance to turn a surprise into happily ever after…

Chance

One night. That’s all I wanted.

A single night to forget I’m a widowed single dad with a million responsibilities and a ton of emotional baggage. To remember what it’s like to just be a man.

I didn’t need any extra drama in my life. Romantic complications? No thanks.

But after that night, everything changed. Forever…

Rowan

Having a one-night stand with a sexy, older stranger was not part of my plan.

All I wanted out of this small town was a place to recover. A fresh start. Maybe even a little New Year’s Eve fun.

I had no way of knowing my hot hookup would be my new co-worker.

Or that I was actually way more fertile than I’d been led to believe…

My absolute favorite single dad of Dragonfly Lake! *heart eyes*

Chance isn’t my favorite single dad just because he’s swoon personified, it’s also because of the journey he had with Rowan to the ❤️sweet spot❤️ #IYKYK It was kismet and such a joy to have their story take up space in my head. The performances by Sebastian York and Emma Wilder could not have been better, especially Emma’s. Her range and versatility captured every emotion phenomenally and I’m pretty sure that’s what had me sobbing in places! I still maintain that Sebastian should always be doing duet narrations because the man is just *sigh* not that great with female or child voices! LOL I love him as a male character, but he reeeeeeeeally just can’t pull off a child, and a girl at that! LOLOLOL

Rowan’s journey to a new beginning was heartfelt and also had me sobbing many times. I’ve been down her journey before and I’m about to be deep into it again and it is not for the faint at heart. I’ve never had to journey this path on my own and that leveled up my empathy for her. This is not a journey one should ever have to take alone because it is heartbreaking, and it can easily drown you. Amy Knupp did an exceptional job making sure it was realistic and relatable. None of it was overly dramatized yet all of it was organically dramatic. Thank you for that. I appreciate my fiction realistic.

Chance’s journey with his daughter was fraught with landmines, just as it should have been for a girl of her age. He also comes with quite a bit of past circumstances to hurdle of his own, which I loved because it evened out the playing field. It made them both, at all times, equally invested. Does that make sense? LOL

I loved how Sam, Chance’s daughter, connected with Rowan, in her own way and not just as the daughter of the man that Rowan was interested in. Make sense? It’s like they both needed Rowan, but in different ways, which made the journey as a whole, that much more poignant.

I have loved every story that I have devoured by Amy Knupp thus far. She is truly gifted and if you’re in the mood for smalltown romances with all the feels, I recommend any book of hers!

4.5 easily rounded up to 5+ STARS!

Chance & Rowan meet in such a great way! I loved the 80s themed New years party and main characters' costumes. They were instantly attracted to each other and had an explosive one night stand(that he sneaked away from in the morning), thinking they would never see one another again.
But of course they did 🤣 & they ended up being co-workers, oh, and she's pregnant.

Rowan was truly alone in the world once she lost her grandma, so my heart ached for her. When she found out she was pregnant, after thinking she never would be able to get pregnant, she knew instantly she would keep it. I'm so glad she found her girl friends who were supportive and loving to her. She needed someone on her side.

I was honestly worried how Chance was gonna handle the news of the baby, but he took it better than I expected him to, considering he has a 14 year old daughter giving him a hard time at home. He didn't, however, handle pretty much everything else better than I expected. He was and I quite a "stupid stupid boy".

I loved that their relationship progressed naturally, and they didn't just get together because of the baby. Chance reallllly made me made after they got together. I know he freaked out, but he handled it poorly. It did seem like Rowan was begging for his love, too, which made her seem desperate.

Overall, it was an enjoyable take on an unexpected pregnancy.

Read this if you enjoy these tropes:
💗 Single Dad
💗 Surprise Pregnancy
💗 Small town
💗 Workplace Romance
💗 Forced Proximity

Dual narration
Narrated by Emma Wilder and Sebastian York

Have I been hiding under a rock or what? This was my first ever Amy Knupp book. I absolutely loved it. It was the perfect balance of sweet and angsty with the best storyline. I few through this audiobook I couldn't put it down!

Sebastian York and Emma Wilder did such a wonderful job with this audiobook performance! My favorite narrations Sebastian does are always age gap or single dad and man did he nail his performance for Chance. Even though Chance second guessed himself as a father throughout the book he truly was the best dad. And Sebastian did such a great job highlighting his emotions behind Chance's feelings. Emma was such a wonderful Rowan. This was definitely on the lighter side when it came to drama, but the emotions these characters all felt were so strong. And Emma did such a great job with all of Rowan's fears and excitement for what was to come in the upcoming months! I really loved the relationship that grew between Rowan and Chance's 14 year old daughter, Sam. It was so sweet to listen to them.

The sweetness level of this book is so high! And it was such a smooth and easy listen! I really enjoyed it!

Plot : 3.5
Spice : 2.5
Narration : 4

This was my first experience with an Amy Knupp book, and I genuinely found it enjoyable and I never felt lost having not read the first books in this series. The captivating storyline included just the right amount of spice to balance out the sweetness, allowing me to glide through the audiobook with ease. Although pregnancy tropes are not typically my favorite, I am drawn to stories that feature single dads and one-night stands. I would definitely recommend this read to anyone in search of a charming romcom.

Sebastian York and Emma Wilder delivered an outstanding performance in this audiobook! They created the perfect atmosphere for the narrative, skillfully conveying the emotions of each character and allowing listeners to fully immerse themselves in their experiences. These two are truly captivating narrators and a delight to listen to.

Single Chance is the kind of book that sneaks up on you in the best way—full of heart, charm, and all the small-town goodness I love! Chance is sweet, a little hesitant, but you just know he’s going to do the right thing. Rowan is determined, smart, and someone you can’t help but root for. Their journey together was heartfelt and real, and I enjoyed every moment of it. And let’s talk about Sam—Chance’s daughter completely stole my heart! Add in a surprise pregnancy, a town full of personality, and a llama (yes, a llama!), and this book had me smiling the whole way through. Such a great read!

This one was cute! The main characters navigate, and let's face it, fumble their way to lovers. But I feel like what started as them being strangers seriously built on a solid friendship. I really liked that Chance had a teenage daughter and was having to navigate those waters, and he was doing and being the best dad he could possibly be! Rowan was a gem! She was so understanding so sweet and her dealing with her own grief but still being a rock star and pregnant rock star at that. She was a true baddy!! I loved her! Together, they made a great couple and blended their family seamlessly. This was another great addition to this series and I am looking forward to the next book!

Single Chance starts out like one of those oh-so-romantic movies we all love: strangers see each other across the room and that’s it! You can practically see the hearts and flowers and little birdies floating between them. That’s how it was for Rowan and Chance. A little funnier, maybe, since they met at an 80’s themed New Year’s Eve party, but it already has your heart fluttering. They meet, they click, they spend a night. Both feel a little tingle and have a fleeting thought this could be so much more, but neither is in a place for anything serious or long-term, plus they don’t expect to ever see each other again. They enjoy every minute together, and then it’s just memories.

Except this is Dragonfly Lake. You never know what will happen, but it’s often magical. And surprising. Very surprising when Rowan and Chance discover they’ll be co-workers. The attraction is still burning hot, but it’s also still right place, wrong time. Rowan has come to Dragonfly Lake to finish grieving the loss of her beloved grandmother. She’s so wrung out from caring for her that she needs a break. She doesn’t have the emotional depth or energy to start anything new right now. Chance is the single dad to his very trying 14-year-old daughter Samantha. He lost his wife several years ago and they’ve been in Dragonfly Lake for 2 years. Sam is struggling and is a daily challenge. A sweet girl who doesn’t often show that sweet side anymore. Between trying to be both mom and dad and his job, Chance doesn’t have the bandwidth for a relationship either. But as Rowan and Chance spend time together on the job, they reluctantly realize that not only is that scorching hot physical attraction still there, they also like each other, a lot. They’ll just ignore it, and it will go away, right? Well, maybe, but they can’t ignore the fact that Fate has taken over and there’s a baby on the way.

It was absolutely marvelous to be back in Dragonfly Lake with these two wonderful people. Chance is a member of the Single Dads Club and we’ve seen this lonely, good guy struggle for a couple of books now. Rowan is a new character and from the start you know she is something special. Favorite folks are back too and as delightful as ever: the Henry brothers and their wives, the rest of the single dads, the business owners, everyone. It’s like a giant family reunion where you get to catch up and also get acquainted with the new people.

Rowan is going to keep the baby. Chance is going to be a part of the baby’s life. It’s all new and misunderstandings and hurts happen. The other dads rally around Chance ,and Chloe, Presley and others become good friends to Rowan. And Sam is a pretty smart 14-year-old with a little Cupid in her! it’s a joy to be in the midst of this story. Author Amy Knupp has skillfully added and smoothly incorporated new people and new events to the wonderful world she has created in Dragonfly Lake.

I was lucky enough to receive both advance listening and reading copies of Single Chance. Knupp’s books are great to read, exquisite to listen to. Sebastian York has that rumbly, sing-song-y voice that makes you shiver. He captures Chance’s moods and emotions; makes you feel all his uncertainties and fears and his concern and growing love for Rowan. Emma Wilder shows Rowan in her grief and her surprise and her comfort around Chance, and also the strong woman within who isn’t afraid to stand up for what she wants and needs and to stand on her own two feet. The pace, the tone, the emotions – all perfect. I didn’t want to remove those earbuds. Amy Knupp is such a talented writer; you are always satisfied at the end of her stories. And I hope we never have to leave Dragonfly Lake and its charming occupants. I loved Single Chance and can’t wait to see what’s next. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Heartwarming!

Single Chance
Single Dad of Dragonfly Lake, Book 3
By: Amy Knupp
Narrated by: Emma Wilder, Sebastian York

It is great to be back in Dragonfly Lake and the wonderful world Amy Knupp created is one of my favorite places to visit and spend time with the fabulous characters she created, who are always the stars of her books. This third book of the series is Chance and Rowan’s story, and it is a story that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire book. Chance and his teenage daughter are fairly new to Dragonfly Lake, and there is a tension between them ever since she hit her angsty teenage years. When he gets a night to himself, new year’s eve, he goes out partying with friends and has a steamy one-night stand with someone visiting from out of town. Rowan gave up a lot to take care of her grandmother, whose health and cognitive ability diminished because of Alzheimers. After her grandmother’s passing, on a recommendation of a friend, she went to Dragonfly Lake to start over, interview for a job and hopefully get a teaching job at the start of the next school year. Her first night out in town, an 80s themed party, she did something she normally did not do, had a no strings attached one-night stand. There was an instant connection between Chance and Rowan, but neither were looking for more or expecting it, since he had his hands full with his daughter and she had a lot going on too. Neither thought they would ever see each other again, but fate had other plans. The job she was interviewing for, a personal assistant job, was at the same business where chance worked. They agreed to keep things professional and put their steamy encounter behind them, except something unexpected happened that night. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out with a perfect balance of drama, low on angst, some heartwarming moments, lots of heartfelt emotions, and a wonderful romance. It was great to watch these two get to know each other, and despite fighting the chemistry between them, watch their relationship morph into something more. I wanted to scream at Chance for letting his inner demons get the best of him, and was his teenage daughter who was wise beyond her years, who schooled him, which was a turning point in their own relationship. As always, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Amy Knupp, thanks for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 With Emma Wilder and Sebastian York at the mic you know you will be in for a treat of a listen, the two made a great team, with voices and talent that complemented each other and a performance that takes the already amazing story to another level. I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. York was a natural in Chance’s role, grasping every aspect of his personality perfectly, and Wilder was just as amazing in Rowan’s role and nailed it with her personality, doing the same for Sam. They set the right tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These two are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to.

📚Single Chance by Amy Knupp
🎤Emma Wilder & Sebastian York

DUAL NARRATION
4.5⭐

When a story starts off with an 80's themed New Year's Eve party & spice in chapter 3, I know I'm gonna enjoy it! The Single Dads of Dragonfly Lake have been so much fun to listen to. I absolutely LOVED this one & it's very much in part to the casting of these roles. Emma & Sebastian were PERFECT as Rowan & Chance. I didn't put this one down.

When the MC's decide to forget about their troubles & let loose at a New Year's Eve party, a one-night stand happens, leaving them with no regrets. They don't plan to see one another again, but fate has a different idea.

Rowan & Chance have both been grieving the loss of important people in their lives. Chance is trying to parent his teenage daughter, Sam, alone & its been challenging. Rowan is coming off of being the sole caretaker to her grandmother, who recently passed away from Alzheimer's, literally the only family she's had. Having to quit her full-time teaching job in order to do so. It just became her life & now she's at a loss for what to do & where to go.

Their "chance" meeting was no coincidence. These two people needed each other in their lives. Being thrown into a working relationship together after a one-night stand was not what they were expecting, let alone the new of a surprise baby, but these adults navigate this situation so maturely. This is a light & easy listen, but it's filled with lots of emotion & these narrators do such an amazing job bringing these characters to life.

I loved how Rowan made it a priority to become friends with Sam, Chance's daughter. She empathized with her about her own loss. She sought ways to help make this big transition easier for her. Despite Chance being made to feel like he was a terrible dad, he was NOTHING short of the perfect one. He loved his girl so much, and when he finds out he's about to become a father again, there is nothing but support & love for both the baby & Rowan. She helps Chance realize that living without hope isn't living. Without hope, what's the point?

This book is so darn sweet & exactly the way I love to read about a surprise pregnancy. This story has the perfect balance of sweet & angsty all leading up to the most heartwarming love story & happy ending.

🎧Let's talk narration: I pressed play on this & seriously didn't stop. Age gap is my happy place for Sebastian York & he was FANTASTIC as Chance. A single dad who is struggling to keep up, raise a daughter & navigate his way through the news of becoming a father once again. Emma Wilder is so, so talented. She's such a delight. Her performance of the vulnerable, happy & sweet Rowan was so much fun to listen to. She is so great at voicing multiple characters, men included. Always in awe of her abilities!

Amy Knupp is terrific at crafting mature characters who feel very relatable & real. You get emotional depth, heart, humor, spice & tension all with a hilarious llama that shows up in every book.😂 If you're a single dad lover like myself, this series is an absolute must! It's a heartfelt romance that will leave you will all the feels.

Thank you Amy Knupp and Home Cooked Books for a copy of the ALC. All thoughts are my own. Can't wait to head back to Dragonfly Lake.

3.5 stars rounded up

This was a sweet, if predictable, unexpected pregnancy story. It can be read as a stand-alone, but the other now-formerly single dad friends have their own books too.

Chance is a single dad to a 14yo teenage girl, Sam. Their relationship isn’t so great, she’s starting to get in trouble and pulling away. Frankly, he makes some really shitty decisions… like after he learns Rowan is pregnant, and moves her in without even a heads up to his daughter. And then drags out telling Sam about the pregnancy until she finds out on accident. It seemed particularly hurtful as the guy who insists his daughter is his priority. That being said, parenting is hard, and we all do stupid things we regret in hindsight 😏 So I’ll buy it as “single dad is clueless and keeps fucking up”.

Rowan is still reeling from the loss of her grandma and looking for a fresh start as she tries to rebuild,e her life. A New Year’s Eve one night stand with Chance changes both their lives, and they’re left trying to navigate what the future will be. Neither was ready for a relationship, but they are fast tracked into one even while insisting otherwise. They are mostly platonic room mates with chemistry until the end, and there is a brief third act break up when Chance can’t face the changing dynamic and is temporarily stupid.

I have to admit I hate hate hate when the grovel is ruined by throwing in a proposal. It’s a me thing, sure. But if you haven’t don’t anything to grovel or show you’ve earned her back yet, or given her a chance to accept your apology and grovel and get over the hurt and anger, I think it’s manipulative to throw in a proposal. Like “if you really loved me, you have to say yes. And now you can’t be mad anymore”. 🙄 Also- it’s always during a grand gesture, which is meaningless words without action. Bah. Anyway- that ruined things for me. Obviously he was a scared coward, and they were going to get back together, but four days apart…. 🤦‍♀️

I loved the relationship Rowan was able to make with Sam, but it was also very predictable in the “troubled girl just needed the perfect random woman to show up and fix her life” Disney magic kind of way. With all the wives and fiancés of the other single dads, none of the women had considered trying to talk to the poor teenage girl before? Meh.

I would have liked to see more of them actually falling in love. We got sexual chemistry and tension, the physical attraction, and that’s it. It was basically them being platonic roommates due to their circumstances, then one night out listening to music which leads to sex, then a breakup in the aftermath. Like yeah- you have sexual chemistry… but there was very little to no “relationship” time in the story. Also for the pregnancy being the whole main part of the plot line, it felt incomplete to just end with a jump to the gender reveal and that’s it.

The quirky small town, runaway llama, and entertaining cast of characters were enough to keep me interested and entertained. I would not mind revisiting this place in another book in this series.

4.5 Stars! One night only….sure 😏!

Single Chance is book #3 in the Single Dads of Dragonfly Lake series and is about Chance and Rowan. Chance is a widowed single dad of a teenage girl. Rowan just recently moved to their small town to get a fresh start. They meet at a New Year’s Eve party, sparks fly, and they have an instant connection. They end up sharing a New Year’s kiss and a little more than that. Afterwards, they part ways because they both are not looking for any romantic complications. Chance only wanted a single night to relax and put aside his responsibilities for one night. He also thinks that Rowan is an out-of-towner, whom he never has to see again. Meanwhile, Rowan is looking for a fresh start, the last thing she wants is to start something serious given the past few years she’s had. They had no way of knowing that Rowan was about to become Chance’s new co-worker. To complicate matters further, Rowan ends up pregnant and they now have to navigate this new reality.

This was so sweet and heartfelt! I loved seeing our MCs relationship journey; they got to know each other, building a solid friendship that turned into a solid relationship. Also, I generally just enjoyed our characters... very much. Chance was such a sweetheart. He was so caring and immediately stepped up to help Rowan so she wouldn’t be alone dealing with the pregnancy. I also loved his relationship with his daughter. Trying so hard to be there for her, whilst also stepping up for Rowan. Rowan was also wonderful. She was such a strong woman, a baddie and a queen, given she was dealing with a lot; her own grief, as well as starting over, all while being pregnant to a near stranger/new co-worker. Plus, now having to get to know his daughter (and soon to be her child's half-sibling), and navigating all that came with that. She took it all in stride. I really loved watching them all come together, and not just doing the bare minimum to make their new situation work, but they all fell for each other and blended their family flawlessly.

Sidenote, Chance's grand gesture at the end had me giggling and kicking my feet! It was just so cute!!

Another great addition to this series. I really can’t wait for the next book! I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a small-town, single-parent romance with tropes that include age-gap, close/forced proximity, unplanned pregnancy + blended/found family vibes.

Narrated by Sebastian York and Emma Wilder. They portrayed Chance and Rowan perfectly and their storytelling was truly fantastic.

Thanks to the author, Amy Knupp, and the team at HomeCooked Books for providing me with an advanced audio review copy of this book. All opinions provided in this review are entirely my own.

This is the third book in the Single Dads of Dragonfly Lake series and what a fantastic addition to the series it is. Rowan and Chance meet at a New Year's Eve party at the Inn where Rowan had just arrived that day. Rowan was ready for a drink and hopefully a good time trying to forget the sadness and grief which has been such a huge part of her life, she was so sick of crying. Chance was on a rare night out, his teenage daughter is at a sleepover so he can afford to relax and have a good time, few and far between as a single Dad. Their amazing connection on New Year’s Eve which ended in a passionate night in Rowan’s room at the Inn, Chance left in the early hours after realising his daughter wasn’t at her sleepover but at home. Rowan is a high school teacher and hoping to get a teaching role in the fall but her friend had organised for her to meet Chloe who was looking for someone to assist her in their brewery and event space, they hit it off and she was offered the job immediately. Chloe was showing Rowan around the business and introducing her to the other workers, when she took her into meet the head of Marketing, imagine the shock both Rowan and Chance felt when they see each other! Awkwardly Chance greeted her like they had never met, so Rowan went along with that, they spoke later and agreed to stay professional at work and put NYE behind them. All was going well until against all odds, Rowan finds out she is pregnant, she knows she will have to tell Chance at some point but she is so worried how he is going to react and how Sam his daughter is going to take the news. However, Chance is ready to support her and co-parent the baby, and Rowan moves into the spare room at Chance’s house to save money, they have both agreed that they are not looking for a relationship.
Reading how Chase and Rowan’s relationship grows, and Rowan developing a bond with Sam was such a beautiful read, I was hooked right from the very first page and didn’t put it down until I finished.
Can’t wait for Book 4!

Star: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Amy Knupp delivers another heartwarming, small-town romance in Single Chance, the third installment of her Single Dads of Dragonfly Lake series. This book blends emotional depth, humour, and sizzling chemistry in a way that makes it an addictive read for romance lovers.

The story follows Chance, a widowed single dad carrying the weight of past grief, and Rowan, a woman seeking a fresh start after her life takes unexpected turns. What was meant to be a simple one-night stand turns into something much more complicated when Rowan discovers she’s pregnant—especially when she realises her mystery man is her new co-worker.

Amy Knupp excels at crafting characters who feel real and relatable. Chance is a devoted father, torn between responsibility and the rare opportunity to pursue his own happiness. Rowan is independent and resilient, navigating the shock of her unplanned pregnancy while grappling with her attraction to Chance. Their chemistry is undeniable, and their journey from casual to committed is filled with emotional moments, witty banter, and undeniable heat.

This novel brings together beloved romance tropes, including the single dad, forced proximity, an age gap, and the classic unplanned pregnancy storyline. The small-town charm of Dragonfly Lake adds warmth and familiarity, complete with quirky residents and the occasional llama cameo. The pacing is well-balanced, allowing the relationship to develop naturally while keeping the tension high.

Amy Knupp’s writing is engaging, blending steamy romance with genuine emotional depth. Single Chance can be read as a standalone, but readers who enjoy small-town romance with humour, heart, and well-developed characters will likely want to check out the rest of the Single Dads of Dragonfly Lake series. It’s a heartfelt, spicy romance that delivers all the feels.

I knew Sebastian York and Emma Wilder were going to be fantastic as Chance and Rowan and I was 100% correct. Their duet narration made me fall in love with this story and couple from the first chapter. The emotion and vulnerability they emanated was straight from the heart and had me feeling all the feelings as Rowan and Chance navigated a complicated situation.

Rowan's new to town, looking for a fresh start and a night of fun when she decides to go to a New Year's party and spots a hot stranger that grabs her attention the moment their gazes connect.

Chance is a widowed single dad with a ton of baggage and emotional turmoil that's just wanting to let go for the night when he spots a gorgeous woman across the room.

They share a night of unbridled passion and a sizzling chemistry and connection that makes no sense as strangers.

Imagine Rowan's surprise when she starts her new job and runs into her one night stand. What could possibly be worse when they both still very much feel the pull between them? A positive pregnancy test when she's been told she couldn't have children further complicates Rowan's life when she's not in any position to plan for the future.

Chance being the stand up guy he is takes matters into his own hands and offers Rowan a place to stay until she gets on her feet and assures her he wants to be involved in the babies life. Feelings bloom and their connection grows, and just as their attraction to one another is about to combust they give in and have their F it moment.

Listeners will feel like they're in the room with Chance and Rowan and they navigate their feelings and relationship while dealing with their past trauma. Sebastian York and Emma Wilder narrate with such raw and genuine emotion that your heartstring will be tugged to the point of snapping. The epilogue and bonus epilogue were beautiful and the way Chance's daughter, Sam, accepted Rowan and her sibling to be was the absolute sweetest. The little family they've created is special and I loved getting to know them.

**Audiobook Review**

What should have only been one night, turns into more. “Single Chance” is a romantic, heartfelt and sweet accidental pregnancy/single Dad romance that was a wonderful addition to the series.

Chance is a widowed single Dad and is able to go out on New Year’s Eve to relax. He wasn’t expecting to meet a woman who captured his interest. Rowan, after caring for her grandmother with dementia, is in Dragonfly Lake looking for a fresh start. The two have a connection and spend the night together. And both are surprised to find out that they are going to be working together at a brewery. And they are even more surprised to find out Rowan is pregnant after their night together.

This was such a sweet and romantic story and I loved everything about it. Chance is an amazing father to his teenage daughter who is still struggling after her mother passed away. His love for her is so deep and he just wants to make sure she’s safe and happy. Rowan is an incredible woman who spent the last few years of her life caring for the woman who raised her. She’s truly selfless and I loved her moving to Dragonfly Lake to be able to reclaim herself. I loved how they were drawn to each other at the party. Them working together was unexpected and I loved that plot twist. And after finding out she was pregnant, these two vowed to work on a solid friendship for their baby. They were solid as friends but I loved them as a couple. They were intune with each other’s needs and so respectful of Chance’s daughter, Sam, and how she would react to everything. Rowan and Chance had a lot to work on and they did it like adults even if Chance got scared for a second. The ending was so sweet and left me with a smile on my face.

Emma Wilder and Sebastian York were so great as Rowan and Chance. Emma did a fantastic job bringing the caring and sweet Rowan to life. And Sebastian was great as Chance. His narration was vulnerable and genuine.

This series just keep getting better!

I adored Rowan and Chance. They meet at an 80s themed New Years party. Hello! Enough said. That set the tone for the rest of the book. Mad respect for anyone that comes as Lloyd Dobler, how can you resist?

Their meeting leads to one night together and no expectations to see each other until they end up at work together, surprising them both. Then, surprise, Rowan is pregnant. When housing becomes an issue, Chance moves Rowan in with him and his daughter, Sam. These three have all suffered loss and are dealing with it differently. Chance is determined to avoid relationships, and his sole focus is his daughter. Rowan’s grief is more recent, and she shows throughout the book just how strong she is. Sam is struggling as any teenage girl missing her mom would.

I loved that this is not only about Chance and Rowan. The relationship between Chance and his daughter will melt your heart. He is so devoted and it’s downright swoony when he turns that level of devotion to Rowan. However, one of my favorite things was the bond between Rowan and Sam. Rowan turns out to be the bridge that helps Chance navigate the issues that come up with raising a teenage daughter.

Sebastian York and Emma Wilder were perfect in this story. I’m not going to mad anytime Sebastian plays the single dad. He gave us Chance’s protectiveness and frustration over his daughter then the heart and humor dealing with Rowan and the single dad group. Emma Wilder is a delight as Rowan and showing both her strength, playfulness and vulnerability.

Overall, this was a story I didn’t want to end or stop listening to. The backdrop of Dragonfly Lake and all its characters, including Esmeralda, the escape artist llama, and the single dad group just adds to this story. There’s a feel-good epilogue that gives glimpses of what’s next and I can’t wait.

🎧Audiobook Review
Plot ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice 🌶️🌶️.5
Narration 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤

I’ve been a fan of Amy since starting the original Dragon Fly series (Single Dad’s is a spin off of it) and she never disappoints to capture me with her stories. Single Chance was such a sweet and heartwarming romance with the perfect amount of humour, emotion, and spice mixed in. When Chance and Rowan meet at a New Year’s Eve party and sparks fly both decided to throw caution to the wind. Chance, because he’s a single dad of a 15 year old and this is a once in a lifetime opportunity that he can’t pass up. Rowen because she’s ready to let go after the emotional drain of looking after her sick grandmother. Neither expected what came next … not only are Chance and Rowan thrown together in her new job, but there’s two little blue lines on a stick that change everything.

Sebastian York and Emma Wilder both did a fabulous job in this dual narration. Sebastian’s deep voice has always been a favourite of mine and he’s always so good at truly becoming the character he’s narrating. Emma has the kind of voice that can convey such emotions through her words and she does an amazing job with the male voice as well.

I was over the moon at how once Chance found out about the pregnancy they both decided to be friends and work together. They also took Chances 15 year old daughter, Sam, into consideration and how to tell her and the possible outcome of it. While this book started off with a spicy bang it truly become a slow burn after that with neither Chance or Rowan truly sure where their feeling lay. Chance constantly questioned himself as a father and if he was doing everything he could for Sam, spoiler alert, he’s a great dad. Rowan had came to Dragon Fly lake to rest and find herself and instead found herself in a situation she never expected. Can’t wait to see what Amy has in store for book 4.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ .5 almost perfect! really loved the story, but maybe a minor issue pulling it back or less emotional pull
🌶️🌶️: mild spice, around 2 to 4 scenes, still tame sex scenes with a slight touch of kink and still romance focused

chance just wanted one night—one moment to forget the weight of being a widowed single dad. romance wasn’t part of the plan, but after that night, everything in his life shifted. rowan was only looking for a fresh start in a small town, maybe a little new year’s eve fun. she never expected her one-night stand to be her new co-worker—or to find out she was unexpectedly pregnant. now, they have to figure out if a single night can turn into something more, or if life had other plans all along.

amy knupp was a new-to-me author, and i was pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed this book. even though it’s part of a series, it was not a problem to start at the middle. the story had the perfect mix of heartfelt moments and chemistry, making it an easy and engaging read. as someone who is single dad and accidental pregnancy lover this book was an absolute slay! chance was sweet and steady, while rowan was strong, determined and was the type of fmc you can't help but love. their journey from strangers to something deeper felt so authentic and sweet. i abolsutely adored chance's daughter and the same town charm this book had me hooked from start to finish and really got me through a tough time.

sebastian york and emma wilder brought the audiobook to life with their incredible narration. they captured the emotions of the characters so well, making it easy to feel fully immersed in the story. their performances made an already great book even better.

tropes: single dad, forced proximity, accidental pregnancy, small town, ons turned workplace romance

At the eighties-themed New Year’s Eve party in the quaint town of Dragonfly Lake, high school teacher Rowan Andrews is dressed as Claire from The Breakfast Club. Hometown single dad Chance Cordova, wearing a trench coat as Lloyd from Say Anything, is attending the ball as well, and their eyes meet, they dance, take a stroll down to the lake, share a heart-stopping kiss, and have explosive sex in her hotel room. Thinking he will never see her again, while she sleeps, he leaves to go home to his daughter.

The next day, Rowan meets Chloe Henry at the Rusty Anchor Brewing Company hoping that she can secure a job to tide her over until she can apply for a teaching position. Introduced by Pressley, a mutual friend, the two hit it off, and Chloe hires her on the spot as an assistant for her and husband Holden. While touring the facility, she is gobsmacked to “meet” her one-night stand Chance, Director of Marketing. Fortunately they are able to not only keep their secret but to get along as coworkers, until Chloe finds out she is pregnant, and circumstances change.

Even with daughter Sam, a teenager with issues, Chance knows he wants to be a part of the new baby’s life, so he invites Rowan to live with them for as long as she wants or needs. They also agree to talk to not only to Sam but their friends and business associates because in reality, word will spread like wildfire throughout the community. But there are obstacles in the way of HEA. Will the baggage of losing loved ones derail their future, or will they find a way to overcome their deep-rooted fears? Can they redefine the meaning of family to become found as well as biological?

I absolutely adore this story set in a small town whose residents are not only tightly knit but welcoming of newcomers, working together to create a safe, caring home for all. Single Chance is a stunning addition to the Single Dads of Dragonfly Lake series, and I recommend it with highest acccolades!

I received this book as an ARC reviewer and voluntarily offer my honest opinion.

This one owns my heart, from the 80s-themed New Years Eve party at the beginning to the movie-inspired grand gesture at the end. Rowan Andrews is new to Dragonfly Lake and attends a party before starting her new job. She's had some big life changes and is focused on finding a place for herself in a new town. When her gaze meets with Chance Cordova's across a crowded room, a fun retro party ends up as a party for two back in Rowan's hotel room.

Chance doesn’t have time for romance. Between his job as a marketing director for Rusty Anchor Brewing and single parenting his teenage daughter, his plate is full. Which may be why, when introduced to his new coworker, Chance acts like he's never met Rowan rather than recognizing her from their unforgettable night together. They agree to keep things professional, until Rowan sees the little plus sign on a pregnancy test.

I think the thing I like most about this gifted wordsmith's writing is how authentic the characters are. They have some experience, often heartbreaking loss, and they’re getting through life as best they can. It's not only that they’re relatable, but they read as real and are people we'd value having in our friend circle. Watching them grow into the best version of self and find love in the process gives us all hope.

This one deals with some difficult subjects, which only serves to make Chance and Rowan more likeable and endearing. What reader can’t relate to the loss of a loved one, the effects of addiction, or dealing with a challenging teenager? But Knupp has a way of showing us the acceptance in loss, the peace that can come from trials, and the triumph of second chances. A charming, humorous, steamy, and full-of-heart romance, you won’t want to miss a second of this enchanting, uplifting romance.

Chance and Rowan were a cute couple that navigated a tricky situation after a spontaneous one night stand ends in a surprise pregnancy.

I was partial to Rowan, she was a quiet girl, with no family and very little friends and even though she kept getting stumbling blocks in her way, she never let that keep her down for long. I loved her. She was resilient and kind hearted.

Chance was a good person but he was a little more guarded after having life throw some heartbreak his way. He's a single dad with a moody teenager and he feels overwhelmed and a bit of a failure. So he sees and reacts differently than Rowan when he gets news of the baby.

This was an easy read with only a small dose of drama and angst thrown in. I was hoping for a more emotional declaration from Chance, especially since he was the one to first put up a wall. Rowan was a champ and always kept her cool but she definitely deserved a little more of a grand gesture to really make it full circle.

Favorites Bits:
🖤 Sam, she was surprising mature for a 14 year old. I loved how to easily bonded with Rowan and how it wasn't unnecessary drama with her.
🖤 Rowan's group of friends.

This is my first book by the author and it won’t be my last! I loved this single dad romance. I didn’t realize it was a part of a series so I can’t wait to read the other books. I was able to follow along fine though without reading the other books.

This book follows Rowan and Chance. And it was clear they were meant to meet. It starts with Rowan and Chance having a ONS and they think they will never see one another again but their lives quickly become interconnected. Rowan is looking for a new start and her new job is the same business where Chance works. Rowan and Chance agree to keep their relationship professional since they are working together and not tell anyone about the one-night stand. But, the situation quickly changes as the book develops.

Chance is a single dad to a teenager and is having a hard time connecting with her. It was really sweet how Rowan wanted to have a relationship with Sam (the daughter) and be someone that would be there for Sam.

I ate the tension up between Chance and Rowan! This book was so sweet and heartwarming but also touching on real events that they were going through. Both of them had great character development.

🎧 Audio Review: Sebastian York and Emma Wilder were fantastic! They are two of my favorite narrators and were so great as Chance and Rowan. They both did great showing emotions of the characters.

When Rowan and Chance meet at an 80s-themed New Year's Eve party and have a one-night stand, they never expect to see each other in the office of the brewery that he owns. Or that their bc failed that night, and they are now expecting a baby together.

As a single dad to a 14-year-old who can't stand him most days, Chance has enough on his plate. But he steps up big time for his new colleague/former fling and offers Rowan a place to stay when she runs out of housing options in Dragonfly Lake.

Chance is rather twisted up because of the way his first marriage ended, and while he's vowed to be there for Rowan as a co-parent, he is hesitant to get romantically involved. But the more time they spend together as housemates, the more Chance is drawn to her. And when the lines he's drawn for himself get messy one night, will he toss away the best thing that's happened to him, or take the chance that he's been given?

Sebastian York is a classic and I loved listening to him and Emma Wilder narrate this story. I also loved the friendship Rowan developed with Sam, and how having another woman to confide in around the house helped heal what was broken between Sam and her dad.

Amy Knupp is a new-to-me author, but I quite liked this story. It's part of a series with interconnected characters who make up Chance's found family. I loved the support system he had in his friends and how they immediately adopted Rowan into the fold.

I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Thanks to @theauthor.agency and @amyknupp for the #gifted copy of this book.

"I was beginning to suspect that when I'd landed randomly in Dragonfly Lake, the universe had thrown me right in the path of the man who might be perfect for me."

Summary: What started as a one-night-only thing on New Year's Eve quickly turned into something neither of them expected in the new year. After surviving the loss of her grandma, Rowan is looking for a fresh start in a new place. Not in her plan was working at the same small company as her one-night stand, Chance. This is a spicy, unplanned pregnancy, age gap, and forced proximity romance between a single dad of a teenager and a grieving woman in a small town.

My Thoughts: I have enjoyed this series and getting to know all the characters throughout. This was a fun addition to the series. The family found in this story is strong, as Chance and Rowan need that to help support them through this new chapter in their lives. The friends that Rowan quickly made were pivotal in this book, especially during certain moments. I loved Chance's daughter Sam because she saw right through them and called her dad out for the feelings she knew he was having. The bonus epilogue was such a treat to read because I could relate to their birth story with my twins' NICU experience being a month early as well.

This can be read as a standalone within this series.

OMG I'm in LOVE with this series! Amy gave me a new book boyfriend with Chance! I could scream and jump around like a crazy person from how good this book was. The story and characters were well written and so enjoyable. I couldn't stop listening to this book. I was hooked from the beginning until the end! The narrators Emma Wilder & Sebastian York were absolutely perfect for telling this story. I didn't want to stop listening to these two!

Rowan has just had a one night stand with a girl at their towns New Years Eve Party. The next day Rowan meets Chloe "his one night stand" at The Rusty Anchor Brewing Company. Rowan is the Director of Marketing and Chloe has just been hired by Pressley their mutual friend so they will now be coworkers. Now Chloe find out she's pregnant. Things just took a turn!

Rowan is a single father to a teenage daughter Sam who is a handful. Even though he's having a hard time with her he wants to be there for Chloe and the baby. So he has Chloe move in with him. Will everything work out for this family?

Let me tell you even though Chance has some commitment issues that man will have you swooning like crazy!! I absolutely loved Rowan and the relationship she ends up having with his daughter Sam while their trying to figure things out. This story was beautiful and I just loved everything about this book and this series! I HIGHLY recommend this book.

*Audiobook Review*

Single Chance is a small town, single Dad, surprise pregnancy romance narrated by Emma Wilder and Sebastian York that absolutely captures the heart!

Chance and Rowen meet at a New Year’s Eve party where they have a no names allowed hot one night stand! Only to discover that hot night would have some unexpected surprises

I listened to this in one day and just couldn’t turn it off! This is the third book in the Single Dads of Dragonfly Lake series (can be read or listened to as a standalone) and my favorite book in the series so far! There is just something special about Chance and Rowen that pulled me all the way into their journey. Amy Knupp really knows how to pull at your heartstrings while balancing the complexity of grief, unexpected life changes and the struggles of a teenager girl with a father who always has her at the forefront of his choices, all while building a New Romantic Relationship. These characters were genuine and relatable and as I’m writing this review I already want to listen to the story again!

Emma Wilder and Sebastian York puts the pro into their performances. They are such noteworthy narrators who always seem to capture the essence of the characters and the story they lend their voices to without exception! I’m a huge fan of them and they did a phenomenal job in this book.

Overall this was an easy enjoyable wonderful book

Thank you Amy Knupp and Homecooked Books for the ALC!

Rowan has been through so much the last few years and is just looking to escape it all at the Dragonfly Lake New Year’s Eve party. She needs to force her grandmother, her grief and profound loss out of her mind. A one night stand with an attractive man could do that. She has never experience the instant, powerful attraction she feels to a particular man she meets there. As a single dad of a teenage girl, who breaks rules more often than she follows them lately, Chance never gets many evening to himself. He has not been with a woman for ever. This New Years Eve things lining up in his favor though. Rowan catches his eye the second she enters the ballroom alone. The chemistry between them is like fire. He has never experienced anything like it before. One explosive night together then on with each of their lives. They do not even exchange names. I keep thinking Amy Knupp’s “Single Dads of Dragonfly Lake” Series cannot get any better, but Amy keeps proving me wrong. Each one can be read as a standalone, however, you will not want to miss any of them as they are all connected. Chance and Rowan’s story has all the genres, single dad, unplanned pregnancy, forced proximity and more, that make it a spellbinding, heartfelt contemporary small town romance. These two get a happy-ever-after that is absolutely deserved. Do not miss reading the bonus epilogue as it had tears streaming down my face. Love this series.

Single Chance is another installment from the Single Dads of Dragonfly Lake series. It follows a handsome single dad of a young teenage daughter and a beautiful woman who had just recently moved to Dragonfly Lake to restart her life after losing her grandmother to Alzheimer’s/dementia. Amy Knupp does a fantastic job of engaging you as soon as the book begins with the characters meeting at a themed New Years Eve party, leading to a spontaneous hook-up between the hero and heroine. Little do the characters know, they’re both in for a HUGE surprise…a life altering surprise. As the book carries on, the author did a fine job at making the plot line very realistic when it comes to reactions, decisions, and actions taken by both characters. The supporting characters are also integrated very well to continue pushing the story along and providing realistic advice and support for both the hero and heroine of the story. The storyline is interesting and gripping, making it nearly impossible to put down. I finished the book in about two days. I highly recommend this book to everyone, especially those who are avid readers of stories about single parents trying to make their child’s life a good as it can be while attempting to take care of their own sexual and romantic needs. Everyone loves a HEA! This book was gifted to me as part of the authors ARC program. All thoughts and opinions are mine, and mine alone. Thank you for reading my review.
