Fake dating a pack of billionaires should be easy, right? Everyone tells me I need to get out there again. That I can't live my life with a permanent scowl on my face, jaded from my past and not looking forward to my future. Dating is the last thing on my mind, especially when my beloved cafe can barely stay afloat. That's where Pack Axton comes in with an offer I can't refuse. Pretend to belong to Donovan, Liam, and Hunter. One has a heart of stone, one wears a thousand-watt smile, and the other is obsessed with me. If I can be the doting Omega to the three billionaires, my cafe and everyone's jobs are saved. No feelings involved whatsoever. Besides, the last thing I'm capable of is falling in love with anyone, let alone three Alphas. It's all fake. Right?
Knot A Good Idea is the first book in April's story. It follows the events of Knot a Trace Duet, but it absolutely can read as a standalone! This ends on a cliffhanger and concludes in Knot a Bad Idea.
Liliana Carlisle is a romance author that loves angst, drama, and passion. The spicier the better!
She resides in Northern California with her husband, stepchildren, and emotional cats. She started her writing "career" in seventh grade, writing Backstreet Boys fanfiction in her notebooks. When she's not writing she can be found studying classical voice, playing Fortnite, or gulping cold brew.
MFMM Omegaverse He Falls First Touch Her and ☠️ Fake Dating Friends to Lovers Traumatized Omega Billionaire Alphas
Knot A Good Idea is book four in the Bittersweet Omegas series. It is the first part of April’s duet. Characters from the previous books make an appearance.
April is struggling to get to a new normal after a traumatic event. She’s tired of everyone treating her like glass. When a handsome Alpha, who knows nothing about her past, asks her out - she decides to throw caution to the wind.
Donovan is drawn to the lovely Omega but he has other plans for her. He and his pack mates, Hunter and Liam, need an official plus one for business events. Now they just have to keep things strictly business with the feisty beauty.
This was a great short and spicy romance. It does end on a cliffhanger but not a bad one. The banter was fun and the characters enjoyable. Looking forward to part two, Knot A Bad Idea.
This follows April the bff of the FMC from the previous duet!
So in the previous duet something happens to April and now we follow her story of how she’s coping after everything.
We see how she struggles a bit and how much she has changed
There is faking dating but honestly by the end only one of the alphas is still stuck on it and April herself. She just thinks she’s kind of broken and shouldn’t burden other but I just want to shush her. She deserves this!
3 alphas and I have to say Liam is my fav 🤭
I can’t wait to get to the next book and see how everything concludes!
ARC REVIEW🎀💗 This book literally had me SWOONING and giggling SO HARD!!! Oh how I love April and her amazing, sexy men! I’m not even joking you when I say that this is just SO GOOD. From reading Sky’s book I was so intrigued by April and was waiting for her story and it didn’t disappoint at all. I absolutely loved this storyline and how different it was from other books I’ve read. It was so cute and def had me intrigued. And when we met her hot billionaire men?? Swoon🥵it was so cute how attentive and caring these men were to her! They took care of her in all her times of need and I do mean ALL her needs🥰honestly I just can’t choose a fav man bc I literally love all three of them the same. They were all so cute and adorable in their own ways and I absolutely LOVE the focus on their love for board games! This book had me turning the next page only to be left on that cliffhanger. I NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOW!!! If you love why choose, baker FMC, billionaire, they’d do anything for her vibes then you will def love this book!!
April Waters is tired of everyone knowing who she is because of being kidnapped and used to make the drug "O", tired of people apologizing, and especially tired of folks who tiptoe around her feelings. She's surly and depressed and knows it. She doesn't really like herself, and you get a sense that she blames herself for her trauma. She never comes out and says that, but refers to herself as broken and ruined. And wonders why anyone would want her. However, she continues to push through with her friends and her therapist. She promises she'll make an effort to be more social.
Donovon Axton enters her bakery, and young Devyn thinks the handsome young man in his expensive business suit is just what April needs. Young people. But it does get them to talking and they both appreciate that neither one knows who the other is. Donovan the billionaire is intrigued, asks her out to dinner which April accepts with much hesitation. Donovan has a proposition-- he and his pack need an omega for social engagements for the summer. Would April be interested? She's not, but the promise of money to save her bakery from going under is the lure. Donovan, Liam, and Hunter vow that there will be no intimate stuff unless April wants it.
Donovan knows about her past after the background check and the other two find out eventually. I am not sure why she would not disclose this the first time Donovan brings up the deal. Then again, she doesn't want to talk about that. She wants to get away from that.
This book, unlike other Lilliana Carlisle books, seems to be more of a slow burn. As I age, I tend to care more about how they feel than the steam. I liked April, I'm glad she is in the process of finding joy again. I liked Donovan he is complex in that you get the impression he is a Type A personality, but find out he works all the time because he feels that is what he is good at, that's all he can do.
Hunter and Liam-- gamer dudes-- offset Donovan's personality well.
This book ends on... I wouldn't say a cliff hanger, but the pack is not yet complete. There are some issues to get over before they can fully be a pack. I have it loaded on my Kindle.
Who among us hasn’t felt like we are “too much” or “too broken” and self-sabotage right when we’re on the verge of getting everything we want because we’re afraid? April has to be my favorite FMC that I’ve ever written. Her reactions as a result of her kidnapping are so spot on. When you are a victim of something horrific and others know your story, it’s hard to not get angry when you see everyone around you, well meaning that they are, look at you with pity. April’s strength - putting in the work and trying to get back some semblance of herself - is such an inspiration. That she can find pieces of the old parts of herself and bring them into the new version of her “after” is really beautiful. This pack…Liam stole my heart from the moment he was introduced. Something about the gentle Alpha just leaps through the page. It’s not that we’re told he has a calming effect (because we are) but we feel it through the writing. Hunter is a “James Bondesque” man that honestly I imagine looks like Jonathan Bailey - he’s brash, tired of his lead Alpha’s BS and isn’t afraid to vocalize what he wants. It’s refreshing. He embraces his “weird” and doesn’t judge others for theirs…and he would probably burn the world for those he loves and whistle the whole while doing it. Then there is Donovan. I’ve never wanted to both trip a character down a flight of stairs and still hunger to know more about him. He’s a bit of an enigma in all of this. I think that’s by design - make us interested enough to want the scraps he’s told us / shown us about himself but also make us so infuriated we hope he takes a long walk off a short pier. Donovan, you got some explaining to do.
After surviving a kidnapping by a drug trafficking ring, April feels she returned "wrong". She doesn't enjoy life like before. She doesn't smile as much, she's prickly, and she has triggers that send her spiraling. Most of all, she's tired of everyone treating her as if she's broken. The only place she finds comfort is her cafe and it's in financial jeopardy. So, when a handsome Alpha doesn't recognize her and offers her a deal that will save her cafe, she takes the opportunity. She agrees to be Pack Axton's Omega. Donovan, Liam, and Hunter have a series of events they need an Omega for culminating in their ex's wedding, and for accompanying them to the events, they will ensure her cafe is permanently financially secure. No feelings, no complications- no problem?
April is an example of hurt people hurt people. She lashes out at those closest to her, those she feels safe with. It makes sense but doesn't make her a sympathetic character. I would have liked April to be a better balance between damaged and vulnerable and likable. How could she expect her closest friends and mom to treat her normally if she constantly reminded them she wasn't healing? April set the tone for the book and the Alpha's followed. The story came close to being excellent but missed. If April was removed, Donovan was even more so. It's hard to be fully invested in a relationship if the characters aren't. I will read the second book for Liam and hope this sweet man gets his HEA.
Another amazing book by an amazing author! I love everything that she writes, but this book really hit home. I love how April is able to overcome her past and realize that she does deserve happiness. I thought that Liam would be my favorite, but I think that Hunter is actually my favorite alpha in her pack. I love how he pays attention to her and his pack mates. He studies them and learns about them to love them how they deserve and I love that about him. I enjoyed the journey that April went on. Yes, it started out as fake dating, but it ended up her finding love. April does have some trauma in her past to get over and I like how it is brought up and how she doesn’t just immediately get over it because in real life that’s not how it happens. I like the uniqueness of each of the alphas; they all have their own quirks and personalities. I couldn’t put this book down. I finished it in a couple hours. I highly recommend it. I received this as an advanced review copy but I one click all of this authors books. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
But damn… that cliffhanger of an ending 😭😭😭 Donavan…. Why?!?!?
I was super excited to know that April got her own book! I had been looking forward to it after reading about her in Knot A Trace. I loved everything about this book including the depth of the characters and plot. I thought it was well written. Something about Liliana’s books always draw me in and get me excited for the next book!
I love April and I love that this book doesn’t shy away from mental health. Instead it shows the trauma and ways people cope with it. I love April’s mates they are all so good and bring something to the relationship that they all need.
The romance is sweet and swoon-worthy. I love the fake dating, it’s been a minute since I’ve read something with fake dating in it and it was so good! And the spice is a plus! I’m excited to see where the romance goes in the next book!
Overall, this book was so good! I’m so excited for book two! If you haven’t read knot a trace I do recommend that before this one just because their is some context from that book, but you don’t need to! I highly recommend this book though! It was such a good read and I really loved the romance.
~ARC REVIEW~ When Liliana announced that her next duet in the Bittersweet Omegas series would be from April’s POV, I was PUMPED. While not *technically* necessary, I would highly recommend reading the Knot a Trace duet first in order to have some pretty important context going into this one. . I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - Liliana’s omegaverse is like candy. They’re so addicting and have a wonderful balance between sweet/spicy and serious content (hence the series name). I found April’s story l so refreshing because it doesn’t shy away from the topic of mental health and showcases the different ways in which people cope with trauma. . Of course there’s also drool worthy romance, as April finds herself fake dating a pack of three billionaire alphas (swoon). I had such a soft spot for sweet Liam and can’t wait to see how her relationship with the pack evolves over the course of the next book. I just know that seeing April’s struggles in book one will make her character arc so satisfying!
Someone needs a kick in the pants. Hint, it's Donovan. Liliana's book, Knot a Good Idea, picks up with April and her trying to overcome the traume from being kidnapped and found near death. She's working through it to try to be better, but she's just so mad at everyone. One day in the bakery, she meets an alpha that she likes, and he asks her out. Only he's really just looking for someone to pretend to date the pack. He's drawn to April and her no-nonsense approach to this wealthy alpha, and she's drawn to him and them since they don't know who she is. Be warned this amazing book 1 ends on a small cliffhanger where you ask yourself "what is he going to mess up now". Can't wait for the next book to find out what will inevitably turn into a grovel from one particularly stubborn alpha afraid of his feelings.
I enjoyed everything about the book. I loved the characters and the storyline. There was drama, a bit of humor, lots of feels, tension, and spice.
I loved April. I think her feelings were perfectly normal for what she went through. She is still trying overcome. I love the alphas too. Donavan, with his grumpy and reluctant personality. Hunter, the playful one. Liam, the sweetheart. Each one of them wanted her and were so good for her too.
I don't think the ending was a cliffhanger per say... however, it definitely left we wondering how things were gonna work out.
Overall, I loved April's story and I can't wait to see what happens next. Will she end up becoming a part of their pack?!
April has been through hell and back. Everyone is walking on eggshells since she was rescued from her kidnapping. She just wants to be left alone to try to forget what they did to her. Donavon stops in the bakery for a coffee acting like a stick is stuck up his bumm. Donavon and his pack, Liam and Hunter need a temporary omega for several events including their ex-omega’s wedding. April decides it’s time for a new start and goes out to dinner with Donovan where he asks her to be their omega. Well, the old April is slowly coming back to life. The electricity between all of them is off the charts. I loved this story. It was April’s turn to find HEA.
Knot a Good Idea is book 4 of the Bittersweet Omegas series and part one of April’s story. I do recommend reading this series from the beginning. Book 1 Knot Inn Love can be read as a standalone but Knot a Trace part one and part two should absolutely be read before starting April’s story; Knot a Good Idea and then move on to Knot a Bad Idea. Books 2-5 follow the same plot and the characters, events and locations carry through from each book and are left on cliffhangers.
This is a very entertaining Omegaverse, Why choose series with all the fun expectations I want from a Omega/Alpha story plus there is a lot of drama, secrets, denial, hurt/comfort, healing, love and lust to go around and make this a can’t put it down series.
I am diving right into the next book, Knot a Bad Idea!
Oh, April!!!! She is still having a rough time and isn’t sure how to help herself when Donovan walks into her cafe. April knows there’s something between them, but she just doesn’t think she deserves it, even after meeting the rest of Donovan’s pack. Things turn from business to pleasure pretty quickly, but can they turn into forever? It’s a little bit of a slow burn at first, but the spice is worth it. There is a pretty good cliffy at the end. Luckily, we shouldn’t have to wait too long for book two!
The FMC has a traumatizing past and I love how all 3 alphas don’t judge her for it. Instead they are so supportive, loving, caring, such sweethearts! Despite Donovan being in a constant state of denial and refusal to let go.
Liam is my absolute favorite! He’s so loving and shy who often times get anxious but he’s adorable!
Hunter is 🥵 such a flirt! No filter! He goes after what he wants!
Donovan is closed off but he gives of commending vibes. There’s more to him that wasn’t explored in part 1 of this DUET.
Gotta make this quick cause I need to get to part 2, though I’m scared for what’s coming…
The characters are enjoyable to read, and each of the MMC’s POVs is easily distinguishable, the FMC is relatable in how she’s coping with her trauma and I’m very nervous for part 2 because I can feel a heartbreak coming, and hopefully some excellent grovelling (I do enjoy a good grovel trope).
The spice when it happens is amazing!
Romance? ❤️❤️❤️ (3.5) Spice (though few and far between, it’s very well written and hot hence): 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I don't know if it was the book or me.. I found the fmc to be really annoying. I don't mind a traumatized fmc but to be rude to everyone around you for caring about you and letting the trauma control you like she does.. it just got old really fast how mean she was.
And the mmc's are using her and not giving her all the details about why and what it will entail? Recipe for disaster and I just don't have the patience for it. So I gave up sorry.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Knot a Good Idea? I really enjoyed this Omegaverse book. April was very feisty and I love the alphas I like the drama I like the connection I love the pack Dynamics between the Alpha and the Omega they do run into some situation that they got to face but I'm looking forward to reading book five book four does leave off in a bit of a cliffhanger so I'm just excited to see how all the things are going to play out
Knot a Good Idea (Bittersweet Omegas Book 4) by Liliana Carlisle – This series is on kindle unlimited. April may have been rescued from her kidnapper, but her life is anything but normal now. When a pack offers her a secret dating pact with a sizable paycheck, she can’t refuse their offer. But when things start to get a little too real, there is a lot for April to unpack in therapy! Happy Reading!
Another awesome book from the Bittersweet Omegas series. I love the continuation of the O story line and hearing about April and her story. I love her guys, at least Liam and Hunter. Donovan makes me nervous, especially at the end of book one. It’s not necessarily a cliff hanger but it will make you nervous for what happens at the beginning of book two.
Liliana Carlisle has done it again! I absolutely love April and Pack Axton, Donovan, Liam, and Hunter. This book can be read as a standalone but to best understand how April's trauma came about, I highly suggest you read the Knot a Trace beforehand.
I loved April. I really liked how she is dealing with her trauma. She doesn't give up. Donovan, Liam, and Hunter are not the all perfect pack. They are flawed, they fight, but at the end of day, they love and they are family. The chemistry between them and April is instant, and boy, this is something hot, spicy reading.🌶🌶🌶
Is there a cliffhanger you ask? Bloody oath there is! It's a doozy and my heart almost gave out. Liliana Carlisle likes to keep us in suspense! This is one of my favourite reads by Liliana so I am extra excited to read the second book in the duet. 💕💕
After April was kidnapped she finds it difficult to move on, throw in her beloved cafe not preforming well financially, leads to her agreeing to fake date wealthy alphas in order to stay afloat. But it appears that not everyone in the pack agree...
while I thourghly enjoy this book and series be prepared to want to throw your book with the cliffhanger...I know I did (my poor eReader)..
I actually really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed reading Aprils story. I will say I liked all the guys. I really enjoy this world the author created. Does end on a cliffhanger. So I’m desperate for the next book. Storyline is really good. I’ve lived this series since the first book. Definitely recommend reading!!
This is the first one in a duology. You don’t need to read previous books but it can give some good backstory contributions. The relationship definitely takes off quickly. This is pretty much insta love/lust and the contract is quickly pushed aside (mostly) as the 4 characters interact. The ending is not TOO bad of a cliffhanger situation.
I was so happy to receive an ARC of this book! I really enjoyed it. I loved watching them help her and start to fall for her. I love seeing types of mental health issues in books as well! I can't wait to read the next one!!
ARC for an honest review. This is a continuation and a cliffy. If you haven't read the prior books you may be lost. This follows a new leading Lady on her journey to regain herself after a horrible kidnapping. Non shifting, existing pack, alpha and omenga dynamics, FMMM, OAAA.
Knot A Good Idea is the fourth in the Bittersweet Omegas series by Liliana Carlisle. Anna is a determined Omega. I love the pack she finds herself in. Love it. Such a good story. But, um, the cliffhanger. I need the next book now!
