No thinker has had a more profound influence on western civilization than Aristotle. Whether we realize it or not, his work has been one of the main props of our culture for over two thousand years. Underlying all of it is a conviction that system and order can be found to govern everything, even human conduct. In Ethics and Politics Aristotle examines what is the best kind of life, and what is the best kind of society for making this possible. Specially written for NAXOS AudioBooks. Don't judge me. Do you know how much shit Aristotle wrote? A whole lot of it. I never thought about the pure idea of Dog before. I've never thought about dogs this much in general. Highly recommend for all dog lovers!
Fantastic! This was so much better than I had anticipated. If you are interested in Aristotle and his works, but aren't ready to read his actual writings, this would be a great place to start. In truth, I almost wish I started with this before deciding to read the Nicomachean Ethics.
facinating to read how much ahead of his time he was. I agree with with most of his political prescriptions but certainly not his education policy (state owned children). The support for virtue, against pornography, and for the family was right on. His science was extremely advanced for the ancient times. Good introduction to Aristotle.
