Kelly Flynn is on an emotional roller coaster ride from hell.
Saturday night she had hit a freakish all time low when she had been caught in a broken elevator. With a phobia of being trapped in small, dark places Kelly had totally flipped out when the lights went out and the elevator screeched and jerked to a halt.
MY BOOKS in the order I wrote them: Elizabeth Bondage* Bound and Freed* Carmen's NY Romance* Amy's Forbidden Fantasy* Karma What Wendy Wants Fate Kink* (Fate #2) Promises to Keep Abuse Trilogy Accuse (Abuse #2) Avenge (Abuse #3) Demon Blessed
André (the sexy sex counsellor) is 36 years old in the above books. In ABUSE he is 26 (to 28).The stars* mean heavy BDSM. André is in all of my books except "What Wendy Wants," "Promises to Keep," and "Demon Blessed."
Sweet Jesus! I thought that Kelly had been a bit of an overreacting diva when she ran out on John, but he really trumps her drama with his punishment. Poor Kelly! I really felt for her. For a while, I was worried that John had reverted back to his former, emotionally closed-off self. Thankfully, he just wanted to teach her a lesson. She got the message loud and clear!
As we learn a little more about Kelly's relationship with her family, John's childhood ties to Kelly come to light. Little by little, a picture of an awkward and lonely, abused boy is coming together. While Kelly seems to be the focus of her mother's ridicule, it is clear that what John endured was far, far worse.
Whatever skeletons John has in his closet might not remain hidden away for long. The huge cliffhanger ending hints that all his secrets are about to be brought to light. I certainly hope so. I'm dying to find out more about this ultra-sexy, mysterious man and what makes him tick!
I loved this series! I was hooked an invested in the characters (John and Kelly) from the very first book. Who doesn't like a damaged hero??
This series was sexy, erotic and, at times, heart-wrenching. Nikki Sex makes character development look easy. Her story flows, she has a great writing style and plot. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes grit with their erotica.
Ok so this book was another quick read. The big difference was this one really left me hanging & can't wait for the next book;) Kelly and John try to work through things so that they can be together. Now John's counselor turns up dead...who done it???
Please note, I read this as part of the Bound & Freed Boxed Set.
This was a very interesting and captivating novel. I’m still thinking about it days later.
The author develops some amazingly vivid scenes throughout this novel. These scenes weren’t necessarily even erotically based (although those were definitely there as well). There was mystery, suspense, heartbreak, and relationship drama galore. She keeps the novel intense without it becoming vulgar or garish. There is a stark contrast between the prayers to God and the subject matter that heightens this intensity. I really appreciate how the author approaches the world of BDSM. She does so with tact and class. She also approaches it in such a manner that you realise how much there is to this world, and what it really means to those there. She introduces you to the scene in a positive manner that you can’t help but be captivated by. She explains some terms and practices common to the scene so that unfamiliar readers can get into the story. She does so very tactfully and without breaking the overall flow of the story.
This story was very intriguingly written, even if the writing did become a little disjointed at times. Amazingly enough, this added to the mystique of the novel. There are times when the author uses the same phrases and thoughts repeatedly. Although disconcerting at the beginning it really adds to the character development. The shortened sentences and small issues with grammar also become superfluous. In most other works I’d say that the novel needs to be re-edited. In this one, it adds so much to the story that I was very surprised.
I enjoyed how the author develops her characters. She doesn’t dump a pile of information on her readers all at once. Rather, she gives small glimpses into the past to provide understanding into the present and the future. It gives insight into the characters and more depth to the story. The large variety of character types who interact with each other gives a very unique perspective of the world as a whole, as well as the world of BDSM. She combines this world with real and heart wrenching relationship issues that make you feel for and want to help out these brilliant characters.
I also really appreciate the symbolism behind the title of this boxed set. Not only does it apply to the subject matter at hand, but also to more than one character. That’s all I’ll say about this. Read the novels and you’ll find out.
My overall impression? Whether you’re a Dom, a Sub, or neither, this series makes you re-evaluate what’s important in your life.
Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Ok so the next section of this serial was really intense! I also think so far it has been my favorite because soooo many secrets and insights to both characters were revealed.
Last book, Kelly found a file on her at John's house and took off. John was broken but would NOT let Kelly go. He ends up making a plan to win his little sub back OR push her away from him and all his baggage. He hoped for the first and not the last.
Kelly talks to her brother and discovers that John and her know each other from when they were kids. She also talks to the club owner and gets information about John. She realizes she really screwed up and wants her Dom back. She needs to make it all right with him.
Kelly is getting punished by John for her behavior when she ran out. John and Kelly spend some time together and they start to sort out everything. The story looks like it is going to be getting a nice HEA when.......oh snap, someone is murdered ANNND the fingers are pointing to John!!!!
This series had so much potential but unfortunately fell WAY flat. The storyline had a lot going for it but the rushed execution killed it. The "BDSM" tag is also really misleading in my opinion. This was less steamy than most "vanilla" sex scenes. And why would a Sadist, a true Sadist not a poser, suddenly not need to inflict pain upon his subs? The author actually writes that the couple is "screwing 20 times a day", which let's face it is not even remotely close to possible. Also stating the female having 10 orgasms, umm this is a BDSM book and you haven't heard of "orgasm torture"? The female body can only take so much before that becomes painful and not pleasurable at all. There were a ton of editing mistakes and character confusion. It was just a really poorly executed book that left A LOT to be desired.
I feel like I have been on a rollercoaster for this whole book. The tension and anticipation as we climb higher and higher. The quiet and peace at the top. The fear looking over the edge and the excitement and overwhelming loss of control. John and Kelly truly compliment each other so well. Pink daisies- big smile.
Okay this one was better, it had some emotion and finally John is showing some personality. His punishment was really well played. Kelly remembered why John looked familiar and she really wants to make him understand that she cares.
