Rate this book
Daniel Montague has a secret.

A secret so dark, so disturbing that he’s pushed it to the back of his psyche and moved on. Unfortunately for him, it’s itching to find the light.
Down in New Orleans, Daniel finds solace in the winding waters of the Mississippi River. He’s found a place that he can put his past behind him, a place that he can call home.
He thinks he’s finally found peace, but when his past comes knocking on his front door and the town erupts in a wave of brutal murders, he is forced to face a harsh reality. You can forget the past, but that doesn’t mean it will forget you.
“Night Slashers” a gripping thriller riddled with twists, turns and the ultimate betrayal.

“The sound of water splurging around echoed like a distant whisper. The soft gurgle grew louder and louder in Daniel’s ears until he realized he wasn’t dreaming. A slow suffocating feeling burned his lungs robbing him of air. Each breath he took was raspy and shallow like he was sucking through a broken straw.
As he lazily opened his eyes he spit out mud and wiped his face. His soaked t-shirt clung to his back the other side was glued to him with mud. He was face down in a puddle of rain water and his own vomit. Shivering he rolled onto his side and curdled into a ball.”

The date was October 31, 1979. The air was cool and a light fog blew in from the gulf, cloaking the Tampa area in an ominous, tight-fitting tunic. The annual Halloween festivities had just begun and a night of mischievous tomfoolery was afoot.

Scandalous and nefarious characters took flight. Doorbells were rung and ill-boding tricks were played regardless of the treats given. This was the dark reality of the bustling Florida metropolitan.

To the north, Grateful Dead crooned the night's theme music at the Nassau Coliseum. Within earshot of the concert, witnesses stated a UFO hovered over the grounds for thirty minutes before vanishing.

At the same time the Cromarty's were busy hosting their notorious Halloween party at 112 Ocean Ave., better known as the Amityville Horror House. Screams and cries for help were reported throughout the night, punctuated with the disappearance of the family next door. They were never heard from again.

Unknowingly altering the course of history, Kurt Vonnegut released "Jailbird" the same week KISS gained infamy on The Tomorrow Show. The aftermath of this collision would not be felt for decades until the emergence of Justin Bieber.

After a night filled with mayhem and destruction and the deaths of several prominent entertainers, politicians and a notorious bank robber, the Federal government was forced to loan $1.5 billion dollars to Chrysler. This spurred a series of violent protests, resulting in the Brunah Agate oil spill. Over 10.7 million gallons of oil were dumped into the Galveston Bay. This became the worst oil spill disaster in U.S. history.

A few hours later on November 1, 1979, Rashad Freeman was born. Feel free to draw your own conclusions.

Yeah I finished it already! I created this profile just so I could leave a review for this book. I'm seldom passionate enough about anything I read to actually sit down and say something about it one way or the other. But I absolutely loved this book. Suspense, Romance, engaging funny characters, murder, twists and turns, hell what else could I ask for. I loved Victor, I mean he was an a$$, but he reminded me of so many people. It was so easy to visualize everything that was going on. What else can I say...I loved it!!!

Night Slashers by Rashad Freeman

Daniel Montague has buried a secret for so long. He leads an ordinary life, great career and the perfect wife. But soon people end up dead and his whole world is about to turn upside down. He finds that he can only hide from his past for so long, until it catches up to him.

A fast paced murder/thriller. I liked the writing style, the story line, and the suspense. I was at the edge of my seat.A definite all-night read. I highly recommend to those who enjoy a thrilling story!

This is the best book i have read hands down. I really enjoy a good mystery and boy did i get one. There were soo many twists involved. Everytime i thought i knew who did it, they ended up dead and keeping me guessing. You really had to pay attention to the small stuff. Really amazing work.

Night Slasher by Rashad Freeman introduces readers to Daniel Montague, a man trying to leave his past behind. Daniel moves to New Orleans to start a new life. He has a beautiful wife and a thriving surgical practice and believes nothing could go wrong. Unbeknownst to Daniel, his past comes back as unexplained deaths start to stack up. These murders are hitting close to home and Daniel finds himself in the middle. Daniel has to face his past if he hopes to have a future.

Night Slasher was a psychological thriller and mystery that had me on the edge of my seat. It had drama, murder and a secret that will shock readers. Having been the first book I have read by this author I can say I really enjoyed the suspense and the unsuspected twist at the end of the book. The book did have a variety of death scenes but the author does a wonderful job with leading up to each scene with great details. On the other hand, Daniel’s flashback in story may throw readers off but they are necessary for readers to relate to his character. I do believe this book would be great for film and applaud this author.

In New Orleans, Daniel Montague is co owner to a popular after hours business. He's a plastic surgeon. With a lucrative career, good friends and a beautiful wife, one could say he has it all. But as we all know, a life filled with glitter is not always gold. When the return of an old friend begins to turn his world upside down, Daniel attempts to cling on to his sanity and the secret he's tried so hard to bury has come to light, and with it, a price to be paid.

I was introduced to this book by the author and was glad I took the opportunity to read it. I was intrigued from the first chapter and honestly, I had a hard time putting it down. I liked playing the "guessing game" and loved the authors descriptive story telling...so much that I could picture the scenes as if it was a movie I was watching.

The only down side...It was a little too fast paced for me. I wanted to get to know the characters more. perhaps, as the series continues, I'll get more of that.

I read this book during the late hours while the house was quiet...perfect setting for this murder mystery.

This is a great story with believable characters and a captivating crime mystery plot. I hope the writer does a sequel, as I got rabidly interested in how the tangled web of intrigue would be resolved. I'm only giving the book three stars, however, because I was turned off by poor grammar and syntax, lack of commas or misplaced commas, dismbiguations, and malapropisms. "Lawsuit" is one word, not two words, and the stunt daredevil is Evil Knievel, not ""Evil Ken evil." There's sophisticated software out there, free online, to check not just spelling but also grammar and sentence structure. Disambiguations and malapropisms can be spotted electronically. Even clumsy paragraphs can be red-flagged. With a little more focus and the same fresh ideas, it is entirely possible that the young Mr. Freeman (no relation) will make it to the New York Times list of bestsellers. I will be waiting, with baited breath!!!

The protagonist, Daniel is this cool mysterious man who had me at hello. His friend Tom seems like that type that gets more girls, but Daniel's the one you take home to the folks. The book overall was like speeding down a twisty road in the dark with no brakes. When things happened, they happened and smacked you right in the face.

I'm in LOVE....

This book had me all over the place...in a good way. It was a twisted and warped story that I loved every minute of. Rashad Freeman you are my hero. I'm developing a book crush. I've read YA books from you, zombie books from you, snappy comedies and now this. I loved them all, but this stole the show. It was perfect in every way. Please keep them coming, at this point if you write it I will read it.

Don't waste your money on this book. And if it is free, don't waste your time. The editing is horrible. During attacks, the author keeps switching from 'attacker' to 'attackers' or 'them'. There is only one attacker, so it is confusing using plurals. If a high school English student did this, his/her teacher would deduct marks and perhaps explain the error, but this guy gets published??? What a strange world, in which this gets published with errors still in it. It happens a lot lately, particularly with e-books. Are editors too expensive? Are authors illiterate? In any case, some readers (not me) could forgive this if the story is suspenseful and engaging, but this is really not. It kind of goes nowhere and gets quite dull in places, despite its short length, leaving the reader to not really care that much about the ending, which, well, I won't spoil it, but let me reiterate, don't waste your time. To any authors reading this review, please edit your work carefully or have someone do it for you before it gets published and becomes open to criticism. Publishing a book with errors is as avoidable as it is stupid.

This book grabs you from the very beginning and does not let you go until you way after the end, as you sit there trying to process the full extent of what you have just read.. For someone like me who is not a huge fan of murder thrillers this book delivered a lot more than I was expecting. The character and plot development was just superb and each chapter had that little hook to drag you further into the story. I am not going to go into the storyline here because I don't want to ruin or diminish any of the impact of this first rate story for the reader.

This book for me once again highlights to me all that is good about Indie authors and that is a vibrant and creative revolution of the publishing industry. I look forward to diving into more of this authors offerings in the near future.

I enjoyed this book. The characters were interstimg, fun and engaging. It was a quick read and full of intrigue and suspense. The ending might be a little outrageous but, nevertheless, lends itself well to a follow-up sequel. I feel Rashad has some great potential and knows how to tell a good story. I do agree with one review that the editing needs a little more attention. All said, thumbs-up.

Better and Better

The further into this story you get, the better the story becomes. The plot is getting thicker than coagulated blood on a day old corpse. I cannot wait for the final installment of this series.

Twisted Tale

What a twisted tale of love and betrayal. Night Slashers had me coming and going. Just when you think you have it all figured out, the tale twists and turns again. This was a well written story with an unbelievable plot. A true murder mystery.
