Eleven longish short stories about bog men, swamp hags, witches' curses, hell hounds, pagan warriors, slavic gods, death wishes, bucket lists, professional vigilantes, musical necromancy, artificial life after death, demonic possession, aphrodisiacs and satyrs.
A nice collection of short stories. Despite the fact that I typically dislike present tense, I found Noumenon and Severance my favorites. Probably because the subject matter of each falls into the same philosophical life and death musings that this author does really well.
These 11 stories cover a variety of genres. A. Sparrow has a wild imagination and spins excellent tales. Any of these could be spun into a full length novel. My favorite story here is The Latch Key League. "George" could be the star of a full blown series. I really enjoyed this compilation. Mr. Sparrow deserves a lot more recognition than he gets.
