First sentence: The day we met,
frozen, I held my breath,
Right from the start,
I knew that I'd found a home for my heart.
Time stands still.
How to be brave
when I'm so afraid that you might fall?
But watching you stand alone,
all of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.

Premise/plot: Christina Perri's lyrics to A Thousand Years have been adapted--shifted--to fit a parent's love for a child. It isn't just the lyrics or modified lyrics. The narrative fits for a family situation. Throughout the picture book, a mother's love for her daughter is evident.

My thoughts: I like the idea of this one more than I actually like it. However, I do think it is lovely enough for what it is. There will always be publishing space for sentimental, sweet, precious books celebrating a parent's unconditional love for a child. Always and forever there will be books published about this special type of familial bond.

I received an ARC of this book for my honest opinion.

          Do you love the Twilight movies? Does your mom love the Twilight movies? If yes to either question, than this book is for you! (and also if those were no’s) The famous song from the Twilight movies is now a Mother’s Day book and it is not only gorgeous, its very moving as a book about a child and mother, sure to bring thankful tears to your mom’s eyes. Perfect for baby showers, Mother’s Day, or anytime you want to say “I love You” with a song from Twilight.

One of the most iconic songs that was used in the Twilight movies is now part of the most adorable children's books. Christina Perri is a singer and songwriter. She is a mom and wrote the perfect book to gift to mom's. I loved that she used parts of her iconic song to tell this beautiful story between the love of a mother for her child. The illustrations were whimsical and perfectly matched the text. I enjoyed the rainbow scenery used throughout the book. You feel like you are in the clouds with so much love.

This book is a love letter to all moms and their babies. The book's illustrations are gorgeous.

Sentimental and sweet, portions of Perri's song fill the pages with starry illustrations of a mum and daughter. The ending of the book, where the daughter goes off to school may leave a reader wondering if the mother was there all along. While not a terrible book, it did not hit the right notes.
