From #1 New York Times bestseller Vi Keeland comes a brand-new slow-burn romance about a recovering jilted bride and her boss’s heartthrob son who get thrown together on the ultimate wedding assignment.
After getting ditched at the altar, every “I do” makes me want to scream.
Which is a problem, considering I’m an associate editor at Bride magazine.
Just when I thought my job couldn’t get any worse, I got roped into being a last-minute bridesmaid... and paired with Wilder Hayes.
Gorgeous, smug, and maddening. Cue the bickering, the sparks, and one very unexpected coat closet moment.
Not my finest hour… or was it? Because that kiss? Easily the hottest thing I’ve ever experienced.
At least I’ll never have to see him again.
Until Monday rolls around, and—surprise!—he’s my boss’s son and my new work shadow for the season.
It's a match made in heaven...or hell. Only time will tell.
Jilted *Pro athlete hero *Boss's son *Cocky hero *He falls first *Forced proximity

Wedding season is right around the corner…are you ready? Sloane endured the most humiliating moment of her life. She was left at the alter. Yikes! Putting it behind her wouldn’t be the easiest thing, to say the least. Especially given the fact that she’s a writer for Bride Magazine, showcasing bridal events. Ironic...don't ya think?💁🏼♀️
Her latest project puts her right in the middle of a bridezilla moment when she’s directed to substitute as a bridesmaid to replace a missing one.
No worries, Sloane can roll with it. That is until she’s matched up with the most handsome and self assured groomsman in the wedding party. No, no, no! Sloane is not ready to take another chance at love.
Come on Sloane… take a bold step and just give him a chance!
This was a fun, spicy rom-com. I enjoyed both Sloane and Wilders’ characters. The chemistry between the two worked!
🎧 The audio was narrated by Andy Arndt and Aiden Snow. Both did a fantastic job with their characters!
DNF 87 pages in. I'm going to quit while I'm ahead here.
The premise of this absolutely had me hooked but the more I read the more red flags I started to notice. There's a lot of casual misogyny in Wilders POV. That combined with a few offhand comments about how Bridal isn't 'real journalism', and that you should always pick up the bill for cops or those in the armed forces... I can guess at the authors political affiliations and I fear they will not mesh well with mine.
Thank you to Piatkus and Netgalley for this e-arc.
Sloane is an insecure diabetic who no longer loves weddings after being left at the altar, which sucks considering weddings have been her lifelong obsession and are now her career. Her boss’s son is an azure-eyed manwhore with a bad tattoo who becomes inconceivably obsessed with her after their first meeting. She refuses to date him due to a one-year man moratorium, so she lets him kiss her on the forehead and buy her a bunch of expensive stuff instead. Bad nicknames, infidelity, aggressive lovebombing, and the use of “peepers” instead of “eyes”. 2-stars for cramming all my biggest icks into 275 pages, including a third act surprise pregnancy that had me wanting to eat glass. So much for “leaving room for Jesus,” which is Sloane’s feeble attempt at humor. Getting married soon? Don’t ask people to be backup bridesmaids.
100% - cannot sleep so wound up finishing it faster than anticipated. A cute read that was a little too steamy for me, but I still enjoyed. Full review to come.
16% in - it's cute so far. Narration is really good. It's quite steamy but manageable so far.
I have heard nothing but amazing things about this one, so I am going in. Thank you Macmillan Audio for the gifted advanced copy.
"Why would I need to look at another woman if I have you?"
"You scare me, Wilder." "Likewise, but you are worth the risk."
"Sometimes we say what we mean, even when we don't mean to..."
"We all bring baggage to a relationship. The important thing is what you do with it. You can carry it with you forever, or you can unpack it. The choice is yours."
"I told him you make your own choices, and if that's what you want, then that's what you want..."
"This was the type of man I wanted, one who put my choices first, even when my decision wasn't his first choice..." ------------------------- WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME THIS IS LIKE 27 DRESSES BUT SHE IS THE WRITER?
“Jilted”was such a frustrating read that reminded me exactly why I stopped picking up Vi Keeland’s books years ago.
The cover is the best part of the book, the contents were, unfortunately, a letdown on almost every front.
Let’s start with the male lead, Wilder, a character I found utterly unlikeable. His whining about how hard it is not to sleep with pretty much every attractive woman who throws herself at him was tiresome and off-putting. His reaction to rejection (getting drunk and sulking like a child) only made him more unlikeable, and his behavior toward Sloane often came off as controlling rather than romantic. Showering her with gifts and even choosing her clothes, including her underwear, felt like a huge red flag. This wasn’t charming, it bordered on possessiveness.
Wilder's chapters were especially painful to read. His cringeworthy dirty talk and general bad attitude toward women gave off misogynistic vibes. The book had a bit of an “all other women suck except the heroine” vibe.
As for Sloane, I struggled to connect with her because she barely had a personality. She felt more like a blank slate than a real character.
The romance between Sloane and Wilder lacked any emotional depth and seemed based on physical attraction only with no real connection beyond instalust.
The story itself didn't do much to redeem the book either. The plot twist was glaringly obvious, so was one of Wilder’s “grand gestures.” The pacing dragged, and I was tempted to skip entire sections (especially Wilder’s POV) just to get it over with. There were also a few strange, off-putting comments from secondary characters (Sloane’s father), particularly around topics like guns, which felt tone-deaf and also completely unnecessary.
In short, “Jilted” reads like a shallow, smut-heavy romance with little emotional substance and characters who lacked chemistry or complexity. If you’re looking for a compelling love story with depth and likable leads, this isn’t it.
Thank you to the publisher for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
5 Stars! (ARC provided by author/Tor Publishing Group/Bramble)
Sloane Carrick has been obsessed with weddings since she was a little girl, so she was thrilled to have landed her dream job as a writer for Bride Magazine in New York. Then she lost her joy and love of weddings when she was left standing at the altar six months ago. She was completely blindsided, and her trust had been shattered. She’d sworn off men, and decided not to date for at least a year. Then she meets Wilder Hayes. The gorgeous groomsman with captivating eyes at the current assignment she’s working. She’s there to cover the wedding, and suddenly she’s persuaded into filling in for a missing bridesmaid. From there her night continues to take many unexpected turns, and at one point she ends up having a moment with her partner in the ceremony. She thought she’d never see him again, and then he shows up in her world, and everything gets complicated. As they run in the same social circles at weddings, she feels drawn to him. There’s a connection neither can deny, and he always knows how to make her smile. When real feelings get involved, will she finally get her fairy tale?
Jilted by Vi Keeland is a heartwarming, captivating, slow burn romance about trust, healing and second chances at love. It’s packed with tension, humor, electric chemistry, fabulous banter and all the swoon. I really loved this couple together! I couldn’t get enough of this story and just kept smiling while reading. <333
I had high hopes for this in the beginning, but it quickly veered off course. Wilder’s POV chapters were horrible - casual misogyny in MY romance in 2025? No thank you! Women deserve better! And especially not the anti-commitment / “man-whore” guy trope who suddenly changes because of the FMC.
And of course the college pregnancy alluding to Lucas being Wilder’s son (surprise: he’s not and you literally do not find this out until the very end) juxtaposed with Sloane’s accidental pregnancy - yuck.

I enjoyed most of this book but it wasn’t something that was out of this world change your life forever type. It was average but it was fast paced which was a positive.
The mmc was good but his dialogues felt a little robotic idk. Plus the British accent thing wasn’t doing him any favours with me 😭🤚
The fmc was cute but she had this weird stubborn streak just for the sake of adding conflict. It got annoying at one point but other than that she was sweet.

Jilted by Vi Keeland Contemporary romance. Alternating POV chapters. Sloane works for Bride magazine. She’s a little burned out since her own fiancee left her at the alter, and the number of bridezilla she deals with seems overwhelming. When one particular groomsman’s eyes seem to follow Sloane all day, she rebuff’s his comments but is pulled into his orbit for a night of passionate kisses. Seems he’s the son of the magazine’s owner and Sloane is now attending a couple dozen weddings over the next year with that irresistible man. Sloane isn’t ready for a relationship. But Wilder isn’t taking no for an answer.
🎧 I listened to an audiobook copy of this story narrated by Aiden Snow and Andi Arndt. Both did a fantastic job with their POV chapters. Emotions practically jumped off the pages. Aiden’s voice was a bit lower than I’m used to, so I had to slow down and turn up the volume during his chapters. In general I listen at a speed between 1.5 and 1.7. This couple (of narrators) turned up the heat and made the story and characters come alive for me. I will definitely put them both on my favs list.
Loved the inclusion of family, cops, and firefighters, as well as Parkinson’s. Sloane and Wilder live in different economic levels but they make it work with easy acceptance. The banter between the couple is entertaining and often laugh-out-loud funny. He’s clearly smitten and isn’t trying to fight it. His flash back chapters are clearly to give the reader more background on him and his romantic history but it’s wasn’t strictly needed. IMO.
Captivating story. Swoon worthy romance.
I received a copy of this from NetGalley and publisher Macmillan Audio.
The book Jilted by Vi Keeland was such a fun romance read! This dual point of views book gave a clear premise at the beginning. I felt it to be cleverly plotted and really enjoyed the female main character! The male main character was so sweet. I have a soft spot in my heart for him. This slow burn romance left me feeling smitten and full of joy! Both of them connected due to past negative situations.
The writing style is clear and easy to read. It wasn’t hard for me to get pulled right into the book. It had humor, spice, strong chemistry between the two characters, a witty banter and romance! It is a fast paced and quick read for anyone that is looking for a great romance book! I highly recommend this book! I give this romance read a 5 out of 5 romantic stars!
Thank you to NetGalley, author Vi Keeland and Tor Publishing Group | Bramble for this digital advanced reader’s copy in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I really enjoyed this audiobook. Aiden Snow and Andi Arndt are part of my top favorite narrators and they did a fantastic job bringing this book to life. As for the story itself, I found it endearing. I love that Wilder fell first. It was even better because he was a no commitment kind of guy. Sloane was also a respectable heroine. She did have a few prideful moments but I felt like she owned them which is why I respected her so much. The author had me rooting for them pretty much from the start and I loved that. I even enjoyed a few of the side characters. I could easily see her brother getting his own book.
This one gave me total early-2000s rom-com vibes—cute, breezy, and fun in that nostalgic way. But wow, it was rushed. Blink twice and the whole romance has already unfolded. A sweet story, just needed more time to breathe.
I’m sorry but Wilder is just a major ick. His POV ruined this book for me, he’s literally so gross and misogynistic i couldn’t read anymore. I skimmed the rest and really feel confident in the decision to DNF - this is not redeemable
4.5 stars. I honestly went into this book thinking I was going to not like it. Woman who hates weddings photographs weddings and meets man, blah. BUT NO! It was sooo cute! I loved the chemistry and the banter. Even though she was jilted, she still could appreciate other people’s love and I loved the idea of twelve weddings.
I also liked how the bit with the ex wasn’t drawn out.
The third act is not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but I thought it was played out well.
I enjoyed the book and it was nice and spicy but I just wanted a bit more groveling on page.
It’s cute. Not at all mad I read it. I do wish I’d eyeball read it instead of listening to the audiobook. The reader for the MMC was…not my cup of too. He has this sort of cheesy, porn-ish type of voice and it just sounded ridiculous for the character. He also never did the partly-British accent, so wtf.
Other than that, it’s a nice fluffy read. It’s kind of cute how much the MMC adores the FMC. There are definitely a lot of plot threads that begin and then sort of fade away, but eh. Not here for depth. The banter was good in the beginning, but now that I think about it, that also kind of fell off after a bit.
I also realized that not a single mother is alive in this book. They must all be hanging out in the afterlife with the Disney movie mothers. This is an epidemic, man.
If you’re curious about the spice, it’s pretty minimal. Like, there’s one or two spicy chapters and then that’s it. The spice is good when it’s there, but it’s not there a lot, if that makes any sense.
Cute story. Gorgeous cover. Interesting plot- a little different than what I’ve come across in the rom-coms lately.
Funny, some good banter, steamy chapters, quick read and would recommend to pick this one up in the springtime/ early summer during wedding season. 👰🏼♀️ 🤵🏼 ⛪️
Overall not super memorable. Characters are not deep, not the best chemistry. 🧪
Short and nice story. It's wasn't bad and I would recommend it, maybe, for palate cleanser. But it wasn't something special. Still I loved that he fell for her fast and deep. And I enjoyed the spicy scenes here and the mouths on both of them, wish there were more.
Audiobook is dual narration. My least favourite type and again it was okay. I don't think they did a good job with the British accent.
“Fair warning, Cupcake. When I come into your room—not if, but when—the gentleman in me will be staying at the door.” 😏
I’ve always been on the run, trying to get somewhere. But since I met you, the only place I want to be is where you are. It scares the crap out of me, and some days I’m not sure if I’ve lost my mind for feeling this way or if I’ve finally figured out the meaning of life.” - That's beautiful
“Sometimes we say what we mean, even when we don’t mean to.” - Yeah.....
I've read many of Vi Keeland’s books over the last few years. And I have to hand it to “Jilted” because this one is my new top favorite by her. Which I’m going to be completely honest I wasn’t expecting in the slightest. But I’m overjoyed at the outcome.
“Jilted” follows Sloan and Wilder. Sloan absolutely loves weddings and her job as a writer for Bride Magazine. However, after being left at the alter she’s become cynical towards impending nuptials. Meanwhile, you have Wilder who is a millionaire rugby ex playboy. The two have a meet cute moment at the wedding Sloan is working. Wilder is immediately captivated by Sloan but after having her heartbroken Sloan isn’t convinced. Throughout the story the pair have a series of running into each other and decide to strike up a friendship. Leaving us with the question will Wilder get his way and get a relationship with Sloan? And will Sloan let her walls down and let Wilder in?
Y’all I love Sloan and Wilder so much. Not just as a couple but as individuals as well. Sloan in particular. I relate to her so much. I was never left at the alter but I was engaged and had discovered things about my ex during the planning process. That kinda of heartbreak is debilitating. I 100% understand and can relate to Sloan being hesitant to start again. Being burned and then also being brave to put yourself back out there is a journey. I love that we got to watch that for her and also for Wilder. I love that their relationship was a slow burn. These two needed to go on that journey after everything they endured and I respect Vi Keeland so much for giving them both that time. Because when they did finally come together it was so meaningful and perfect.
I also really loved the side characters in this book. Especially Will & Andrew. They both were amazing supporting characters. And after reading “Jilted” I really want them to have their own books because I was equally invested in their stories.
Overall, I cannot recommend this book enough. “Jilted” came out of complete left field and left me non-stop smiling. I cant wait to pick up my trophy copy when it releases May 2025. Lastly big thank you to NetGalley & Bramble for providing me an arc to read and review.
Thank you to NetGalley, Macmillan Audio and Vi Keeland for an advanced audio reader copy of this book. I will be giving my honest review. I almost liked this one. The premise of this book was such a fun concept. Sloane & Wilder have a meet cute at a wedding that tumbles into forced proximity through an outlandish idea that basically an entire frat has weddings approaching. Weddings that he is in and she will cover/write about for work. Okay I can suspend my disbelief because this makes for an early 2000s romcom vibe. But then misogynistic rhetoric crept in over and over. Then anti-commitment Wilder seemed like a lovebombing extraordinaire wrapped in a red bow. No sir please keep away from our sweetie fmc. To top it off even Aiden Snow’s steamy voice couldn’t save me from the cringe at some of the word choices during specific spicy scenes.
Ekkkkk 😍🥰😘 I giggled and fell in love with both these characters! They both had trepidation about relationships both for very valid reasons. No childish bs. Almost had a second act breakup but they communicated like adults and worked it out! The freak out at the end was also valid given his past. Billionaire English RUGBY Star MMC 😍 NY Cops daughter 👮♂️ Gay best friend 💅 Boss’s boss’s boss forbidden love
Thank you to Netgalley and Vi Keeland for the ARC of Jilted! I ate this up and finished it in a day. The slow burn, banter, spice, and personal healing between Sloane and Wilder was the perfect romcom combo.
Jilted was an entertaining and easy listen. It was a pretty typical contemporary romance featuring tropes like: forced proximity, opposites attract, billionaire (or at least very, very rich), etc. It had some cute moments, but I never really felt like we got to truly know Wilder or Sloane. They each have baggage that makes them nervous to start a relationship, but I liked that they didn’t rush into things (even though the instalust was there). Repeatedly being reminded of Wilder’s extensive sexual history wasn’t fun though. Seriously, is there anyone he hasn’t slept with?!? The third act drama felt forced and the big reveal about Wilder’s past felt over the top/overly complicated, but the epilogue was sweet.
The narration by Andi Arndt and Aiden Snow was great. I do wish there was a bit more variation in the voices Aiden Snow uses though. Overall, this was an enjoyable listen, but there wasn’t anything that made it stand out from any other contemporary romance.
CW (possible spoilers): diabetes, death of parent (past), Parkinson’s disease, grief, cheating ex, accidental pregnancy, mentions of secondary/minor characters with: dementia, death related to drug overdose, cancer
*I voluntarily listened to an advance review copy of this book*
This story had the ingredients of a Vi Kreeland novel, and hit the good notes that we expect from her stories.
Sloane meets Wilder at a wedding that she is writing an article for the magazine she works for. The sparks are off the chart and she decides a little flirting won’t hurt. They share a kiss and part ways. She learns that her bridal magazine will want to do a series of articles for a year with the wedding group she met. This also means she will see Wilder. He is attracted to her but she has her walls up because she was engaged to be married and left at the alter so trust is not easy for her. However, she is also attracted to him and the chemistry is off the charts. Their attraction is tested with geography and past experiences and they have to navigate through that to get their happy ending.
