This delightful Regency romance, spanning around 60,000 words, offers a charming story filled with honesty, gentle twists, and a heartwarming happily ever after that will leave you smiling.
No cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily ever after. If you like the Regency and Victorian era, this novel is for you.
Amanda Stones gives the reader an easy to guess romance but her character, Swift, keeps getting in the way. Can two people find happiness? Will ait take a trip to Greta Green? Or will it take an intervention only God could orchestrate? Nice reading - just a bit overplayed about "Does he/she love me?" This is an enlightening read into the expectations of society, parents, sons and dutiful wives and daughters. Sometimes the "good old days" lack the allure of today. The story is free from swears, sexual references ( does have sweet kissing) and violence. Read and enjoy.
I felt that the storyline was a little drawn out - too much thinking and not a lot of action. The heroine’s father want a high title for his daughter. She wants a love match and when her childhood friend/sweetheart returns they enter into a fake courtship. The hero has continually loved her. They have to overcome basically two obstacles- her father and the duke who has ill intentions. I received an ARC for an honest review.
Lady Chloe Swift and Lord Anthony James were childhood friends who had a connection that as they grew older began to turn into more. Without a good bye or any message, Anthony left quite suddenly on a Grand Tour. Many years later he returns. Are their feelings for one another still there? Why did he suddenly leave without speaking to Chloe? You will need to read this very interesting story to find these answers and more.
Chloe's father is determined to marry her off to a high ranking nobleman. Her beloved Anthony is a mere Baron, not good enough in her father's eyes, so he threatens to ruin Anthony to keep him away from Chloe. Anthony leaves on a Grand Tour, returning as Chloe enters her third social season, still single because nobody else matches up to Anthony. He returns as her father is matching her with a Duke she detests. How does it all work out?
This is the story of Chloe and Anthony, as children they played together and promised to be there for each other no matter what. Then her father warned Anthony away. He left for years. He returned years later, and him and Chloe new their love was still between them. Thank you ♥️
A perfect match is what her father desires & demands…but Chloe has other simple desires. And no matter what her father always wins, until there is an issue he cannot overlook. Love conquers all!!
Author continually repeats same, tired, old sentiments in word salads. Story could have been told in two pages without all the drivle. Not worth the time.
A heart warming story of faith and true love. This story had me sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I love the strong characters and the love they shared for each other.
