I do love a bit of redneck/white trash horror, it's always a fun time and depravity usually seems to be the dish of the day….

Splatterpark is a series of stories all set in Pine Park, a trailer park full of rednecks, and a very special pig…

The scene setting was great and the way the stories all interconnected with the people who live in the trailer park, the way they overlapped and blended together was pretty cool.

This was a stomach churning read, even for hardened readers like me! It had ALL the fluids...and a few lumps... 🤢 This book should come with its own barf bag...a very large one!

You girls are GROSS!! 😂

This book was SOOOO good. The difference in the stories but also the way they tie into eachother and worked together blew my mind. It went together seamlessly and each one was as intense as the other one. Pretty sure my jaw physically opened/dropped at times..

There is legit a little bit of everything this book!

I give it 10/10 on everything. I cannot wait to get a physical copy bc that cover is INSANE and I'm obsessed!!

It was a wild ride!! 💀🙌🖤

I reread this book 1: because I was sad and I knew this book was ridiculous and just what I needed 2: I never left a proper review when I read it in the first place
This is an entertaining read to say the least, funny as fuck and just all around a good time if you don’t mind getting down and dirty.
I’m no longer sad, I’m deeply disturbed and giggling, I love these stories :3

Welcome to Pine Park! It may look like your regular hillbilly trailer parks but this one has some very messed up people living in it and doing some of the most depraved shit you can think of! All hell breaks loose in these 8 short stories! Can you handle a trip to Pine Park?

This was one of the best short story collections I've read! This isn't your typical splatter/extreme horror collection. This is hillbilly horror done by 2 excellent female authors. You have some of the worst situations with tons of humor mixed into. Each story has a character from the previous story and there's a ton of Easter eggs hidden in here!

It's hard to choose a favourite short story in the collection because they all were done so well. Charlotte the pig stole the show! We have shit shots (you heard that right), necro, uncle fuckers (you heard that right again), meat curtains, so much blood, werewolves, revenge, death, HUMOR, you name it..it's in here! I love both of these authors and I highly suggest to pick this one up! It's nice to see women in horror do well! 🖤

I heard that Asher Dark & Carietta Dorsch were offering splatter stories that all took place in a trailer park. I was frightened by the term trailer park alone, full disclosure. Like that’s it, my pearls were clutched already, thoroughly frightened. Peed a little even. Then as I DELVED into the tales, I found out there’s far more sinister stories being told within these trailer parks of the damned. Stories about JAPANESE CHERRY BLOSSOM BODY SPRAY. The horrors, the horrors.

Quick Synopsis:
Pine Park might look like the typical trailer park: random gunshots; hooting & hollering; siblings fighting to be christened daddy’s best kisser; always some guy with a pig. Yeah, in that vein, it is the typical trailer park but there’s so much more lurking behind those thin MDF walls. The most revolting round of shots I’ve ever witnessed, werewolf babies, in-app challenges that will make you lose your lunch, and one of the most unlikely vampire hunters ever.

This was a violently fun and gross collection of stories that all came together to show just how frightening a double-wide can be. They came in swinging with Hershey shots, which set the grossedout stage. Easter eggs were well placed, which my brain appreciated. Then came stories that touched more on fantasy, which I tend to shy away from but ended up enjoying the most. The final story ended up being the perfect end cap for the collection and also gave us some insight to another character in the Asherverse, which I geeked out over. This trip to Pine Park was fast and fun, the way any trip through a trailer park should be. With the doors locked, just to be safe. I definitely recommend a road less traveled take on splatterpunk, and this one was very well done. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip, but won’t be comin’ back now. Y’here?

This Collection is absolutely FOUL. Splatterpark will forever leave a permanent scar on my brain. I’m still processing from finishing this a few days ago. 😅

This is by far the most difficult review I’ve made to date. Why? Simply because the contents of this collection are so immoral and completely unhinged that I couldn’t possibly put these stories into actual words from how I feel because I’d definitely get thrown in fb jail 🤣

It doesn’t get more backwoods than this fckery right here folks. Asher and Carietta y’all win the gross-out trophy, hands down! 🤢🏆

P.S.
There’s a lot of hidden gems within these stories that you might recognize from within the Splatterpunk community. As well as some pop culture references. 😉

Now let’s dive in and embrace the madness ahead 🤪

Duct Tape and Whiskey Shots by Carietta Dorsch

If this is only the first story then I might definitely puke before I finish this collection in its entirety. SO MUCH POOP. 💩🤢 I really enjoyed seeing all the references within the indie extreme horror community as well as some nostalgic Harry Potter and can’t forget Mickey D’s. First time I’ve heard of the term “Hershey shots” and with that I’ll never eat that candy again… 🤮

Uncle Fuckers by Asher Dark

Ahhh wouldn’t be a Splatterpunk story without some family incest and battling to the death. Ohhhh and there was more POOP. Why all the pooooo?! Only Asher can write incest stories that are equally disgusting as they are hilarious. I gagged and laughed while saying a lot of bad words during this tale of depravity. The saber tooth crotch crickets took me out lmaooo.

Yesterday’s Lunch and Today’s Supper by Carietta Dorsch

I gagged and actually threw up a little in my mouth while reading this one. It definitely didn’t help that I chose to pick this up after eating lunch. Carietta, you’re one nasty betch. Fck🤮
Idk what’s worse vomit or shit but god damn. This story was fcking nauseating and absolutely revolting 😷🥴

50 Shades of Garlic by Asher Dark
Okay this was a fun one! I love a good vampire story and this one was creative and original for sure. A cougar vampire slayer finds herself in the presence of a vampire after many years of searching. I don’t want to embellish any further but this story was a wonderful addition to this collection and I thoroughly enjoyed.

Mud Tires and Meat Curtains by Carietta Dorsch

Yay another incest story🙃 this one is actually enjoyable though because Mary Ann gets revenge. However, this is still absolutely foul in every way. Period blood. Enough said. 🤮

Pork hole Shootout by Asher Dark
Alright… fighting over a pig to do other things than eat is a new one for me. You know exactly what I mean by “other things.” 🥴
Also the Bacon Grease for lube? Absolutely not🫠

Two Shots of Wolf and a Glass of Karma by Carietta Dorsch

Rufus beats his wife constantly. One day this comes to an end when their baby completely transforms right before their eyes 😳 andddd imma just leave it at that.

Beauty and the Werebilly by Asher Dark
Peanut is no regular hillbilly anymore. He finds himself in the presence of a woman in danger and wins her affection.

Ohhhhhh and we get a little surprise from a well-known character in the world of Asher Dark 😉

Releases August 18th on Godless and August 20th on Amazon!

Take a trip with me, why don’t you, to Pine Park! The rootinest, tootinest trailer park full of every type of trash imaginable; the place is a dump, too!

Here we have 8 stories by Asher and Carietta that thrust us into depravity and different holes, sometimes unwillingly. Which is just how Uncle Daryl likes it! These woven tales teeter from incestuous, to brutal, to supernatural.. I’m impressed these gals fit such pulse-pounding stories into such a quick read! Things are poppin’ off in this tiny community, and no one knows what the hell is going on! The deep, gritty, graphic detail of Asher Dark is paralleled by the beautiful tapestry of a hillbilly trailer park painted in a damn near mesmeric fashion by Carietta Dorsch. The stories not only play off each other, but it’s very apparent the authors did as well. Loved the nod to one of author’s previous works as well 😉 This had it all for me; gross, brutal, sappy, heartbreaking, vile, bloody. These devious damsels of debauchery knocked this one out of the (trailer) park!

Excellent job, ladies!

Welcome to the absolute worst trailer park on the planet. Comprised of ten interlocking stories, the horror and disgust never stops. If you can think of a depravity that a human being is capable of, it most likely appears in one of the stories.

The characters show up outside of their main stories as the stories can happen in the same time frame, before, or even after. The horrible lives of those in the trailer park are masterfully woven together to form the overall narrative.

The stories themselves are completely and totally vile. Most of the characters lack even a single redeeming quality, and they relish in the heinous choices they make. The stories are fast-paced, gory, and unrelenting in crossing every line they can. Nothing is off limits, and evil is at the core.

Separately, the authors are amazing. Together, they are simply magic. I'm looking forward to what they do on their own, but I'm absolutely salivating at the idea of another tag team project.

You'll Be Glad You Stopped By

It's safe to say this one makes it into my top 3 for February.
I really liked how this one was done. The stories flowed very well into each other. So much so you can lose track of which author wrote which story.
The introduction summed up perfectly how well done this one was and pumps you up to get you started.
I got grossed out over and over, and it was nice to read one that made me laugh so much.
I loved how each love triangle just gets stranger and stranger as you go along the trailers.
I liked Charlotte.
There was one sentence toward the end that made me hope that we were gonna see more of her adventures. I am going to keep my fingers crossed.
Their descriptions made multiple scenes hard to get through.
I am really happy I got to read this one!
I can't wait to explore more of each of their books.

First, I will consider the positive... This book has a well-written writing style that was simple to follow, allowing for innovative interpretations. Also, I like how the several storylines came together as one. While this may seem harsh, the introduction was the best part of the book; Jason Nickey did an excellent job selling it. When I think about hillbilly horror, I expect to read something similar to titles like "The Hills Have Eyes," "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," and "Wrong Turn." This, in my opinion, was just a load of supernatural nonsense that was over exaggerated by fans and social media, especially when a review declared "this book was sooo good."

Two of my favorite female indie horror authors came out swinging when they collaborated and released this book into the world. This explorative short story collection meshes the subgenre of Hillbilly Horror well with elements of traditional Splatterpunk. This piece amplified gross-out and gore to a whole new level between Carietta's eloquent prose and Asher's ability to concoct the most insane character's and ingenious storylines. I personally loved that each story reflected a different neighbor in the same trailer park and that they all were intertwined in some way. It was created without boundary, covering a range of taboo topics while still remaining fun and raunchy.

This is technically short stories but with a twist.. every single story has a crossover of characters which made it all fit in nicely together. This gave me a love for supernatural and all mythical creatures which I had never had any interest in until this! These girls coming together for a collab was the best thing to ever happen! Vampires also included. 4 stars as the first story had so much Stuart bray dropped in there I got confused at points but love the support!

An evil pig, werewolves, vampires and every sort of deviant imaginable, this very unique collection of short stories has something for every "taste".

Have fun with this one, I sure did!

While the short stories played well together, I couldn't get into it. I liked how the ending pulled everything together. It was too supernatural for me. Some of the stories seemed to make no sense to me, leaving me disengaged.
