Nrekeeka 'Keeka' Seldon knows what it feels like to lose loved ones. First her father, then her mother, and now her sister has contracted the Amaran Virus. The Parset Department of Health and Welfare have been looking for the cure for decades, only to come up empty handed. Desperate, they hire Robyn Stamos, a teenage prodigy with an agenda of his own. For him, finding what had been so elusive was nothing more than child's play, but he isn't ready to turn it over just yet. When family is all you have, you do everything in your power to look out for them. Even if that means stealing from a government facility.
I had an advanced copy of Binding Moonlight (Definitive Edition), and it was phenomenal!
A character-driven sci-fi tale that introduces a unique and eclectic ensemble cast. You love to love some—and love to hate others. Very distinct and varied personalities, some of which make you just want to cringe—in the best of ways. And they all gel perfectly—and sometimes not so perfectly—by design. You feel their pain, enjoy their triumph. Laugh alongside them. I really loved how I felt like I had been living in the world since day one and had been seamlessly dropped into the world. Easy to imagine environment. That’s the beauty of this book. The author leaves a lot of environmental descriptions to the reader’s imagination—and that’s how reading a book should be.
The story was captivating, bringing a great mix of sci-fi and character drama elements, brilliantly woven together in a world that just feels “lived in.” The hardships these characters face, the determination they must show in the face of multiple adversaries intermingles wonderfully with humorous situations, sass and snark, and snippets of everyday life.
One of the best things about this book is the fact that the story can continue in so many ways, and I eagerly look forward to everything the author will create in the future. The potential for more content is tantalizing!
Binding Moonlight (Definitive Edition) is a great read, plain and simple!
