Book 1: Falling for the Family Next Door Book 2: Recapturing Her Heart Book 3: Christmas on the Ranch Book 4: The Rancher's Secret Daughter
Jennifer Slattery writes a heartwarming second chance romance, with a young autistic child playing a pivotal role in the story. She does an excellent job of depicting some of the behaviors that go along with autism. She has good characters, good storyline, and a satisfying ending. Xavier Shaw and Charlotte Murphy had history together, but Charlotte just up and disappeared without a word. Now it is about six years later and Charlotte, her sister, Rachel and her autistic daughter, Gianna, have moved to Sage Creek. They are planning to open an equine therapy facility. Burnt up pastures, a shyster contractor, and a pulling out of funding has Charlotte taking the the open vaulting coaching job, which has her working closer to Xavier than originally planned. As they work together the old feelings are coming back. Charlotte and Rachel have a secret. How will Xavier react to it?
I enjoyed “The Rancher’s Secret Daughter” by Jennifer Slattery! I believe it is Slattery’s best Love Inspired novel to date. I was riveted throughout the book waiting to find out how Xavier would react to the truth about Gianna.
The story flowed smoothly and I felt connected to the characters. I loved the vaulting performance aspect as that was new to me. I also enjoyed the addition of autistic characters.
The novel has romance, tension, realistic conflict, and an encouraging faith story. There are great examples of trusting God, forgiveness, and grace.
I highly recommend this book. If you like realistic faith stories, I’m sure you’ll love it.
