Wow, what an ending! Um, I’m gonna need that second book to come out NOW 🤣 This was such a great read with such a unique take. I loved this, such a fun, sweet, cute read!

Homeschooled/sheltered Leera’s whole life is turned upside down when her parents suddenly pass before she starts college. Leera must learn how to navigate her life while hoping to have that “normal” college experience…until Roman, werewolf & professional hockey player, enters the picture.
This was a cute, cozy read! Both Leera & Roman were likable characters. The supporting characters were well-done, and I loved the humor they added to the story!
There was a lot going on and a lot of simple details — so I do wish sometimes there had been a bit more complexity and not just so straightforward, just to give a bit more depth. However, the storyline was quite interesting, and so I did finish this in one sitting!

This is book one of the Pucking Werewolves series. Tropes: MF, wolf shifters, magic, fated mates, found family, secrets, arranged marriage with drama, gumpy sunshine, first person multiple POV, innocnet FMC who makes him work for it, mental health rep. The spice was 1/5 but is paced well with the story. The character building was nicely done! Check your TWs.
College is a fresh start for Leera (FMC) after the death of her parents. Until now, she has spent her life living abroad, being isolated from the in-person school experience, including making friends. She has been anticipating the whole college experience, including dating. When an assignment puts her in front of a professional hockey team, nothing could have prepared her for meeting Roman.
Roman (MMC) has begrudgingly accepted an existence without his mate. Having the other half of your soul taken from you isn't something that everyone survives. Having a strong, suppotive pack, focusing on strengthening the king's army, avoiding his treacherous father, and playing professional hockey, are what have kept him from drowning in a pool of epic lonelineness for hundreds of years. He wasn't expecting fate to throw him a life preserver in the form of a five-foot-nothing, seemingly human woman. The question is, will he accecpt it?

This is my first werewolf romance, and I feel like I still have so much to learn about the genre. I really enjoyed the tension between their mate bonds and the way they can sense each other’s emotions. It added such a compelling layer to the story. I’m excited to dive into book two!

This was such a cute story combining my love of hockey with the paranormal werewolf shifters. Leera was such a fun character and Roman as the Alpha of his pack has to realign is way of thinking to fit a human and accept the second chance he is given. I love when secrets come out and you learn something you thought you knew but really don’t and Leera has so much to learn about the world she is just discovering.
This ended on a cliffhanger, maybe I should have known that but I didn’t so I was disappointed that I now have to wait for book 2 to learn what happens and how Roman is going to navigate what he has been told vs what he wants.

This book was beautiful. I am so happy Izzy let me be apart of her team to read it early. This book is amazing eventhough the spice isn’t really there yet. Key work Yet!! I loved this story and I can’t wait to read book 2 to see what happens to them next. I need answers haha
LERRA- She is an innocent woman who has had a very sheltered life. Her parents are all the love she has ever known. She travels the world with them and has never had a need for friends or a boyfriend. She is about to his college when her life is turned upside down. She learns so many new things about not only herself but her beloved parents. She also deals with some heartache.
ROMAN- He is a hot hockey player and he is also an Alpha wolf. He has been through so much that he is just going through motions. He despises certain people but he thrives for his pack. The pups especially hug him joy. His whole life is changing when he sees/ smells her. He can’t believe it. He doesn’t know how to react except all he wants is to live for her. Everything he is well now only excists for his mate.
When Leera meets him she is hot with so much information at once. As time goes on she feels so drawn and safe with him and yet her whole life is in question due to certain events. The plot twists this book has melt so perfectly together and yet you don’t see them coming. Will she accept her new mate or will she reject him nd break them both. Will others accept it or try to break them apart. There’s so much I need to know and I can’t wait to see where there story goes next.

First off I hate we can’t give half star ratings, I’m rating this 4.5 ⭐️ My Pucking Mate is my first werewolf book, I’ve seriously never read this type of genre before and I LOVED it! I’m a sucker for hockey so I thought I’d give it a shot and I’m so happy I did! I’m also happy I stumbled upon Izzy Elliott on TikTok and instagram, her content drew me in and got me to thinking I could try this type of book out! Now onto the book.
Leera has been homeschooled her whole life and shortly before going away to college her parents pass away, leaving her orphaned. She has NEVER had any friends or even a boyfriend. She’s put in a situation to where she interviews a professional hockey team while in college, and meets Roman the team captain. They instantly have a connection, one she can’t explain that is so intense. We then follow the journey of Leera and Roman as they learn to fall for each other, and as they accept they are mates and that Roman is a 🐺. There is of course some mystery and we are left on a cliffhanger! I can’t wait for the next book!

I loved it. It's my first werewolf romance. And the tropes were so great. Hockey Romance, Fated mates, Found Family, Age-gap and my favorite Grumpy-Sunshine. He's a grumpy person but has a soft spot only and only for her.🎀

Honestly when i seen this book at first glance i was really excited as i love a hockey romance and i also love paranormal so when i seen it were both i were so happy.
“I’m literally having a tea party with a bunch of hockey playing werewolves.”

Roman is a grump that’s been through a lot but still a sweetheart.

This book was so good! I honestly really loved this book, i was hooked from the first few chapters. I found it so funny at times some of the comments that was said and the twilight references had me giggling away. Great if you love hockey romance and looking for a quick read. The only issue i had is i feel it was were short, i need more i need to know what happens next (it ends on a cliffhanger). I really enjoyed Leera’s character growth throughout the book. I adored Leera and Zoey’s friendship so much. I loved the bromance between the 6 starters!!
This book isn’t spicey however has got some spicy thoughts but doesn’t go into detail which is why i’ve given it 1 for spice.
I can’t wait for book 2!!

Honestly when i seen this book at first glance i was really excited as i love a hockey romance and i also love paranormal so when i seen it were both i were so happy.

This was the first werewolf story I've read in over a year and it reminded me how much I love them! This was a very easy an cute story to read. I appreciated that the world building was simple and easy to understand, but a complete new world of possibilities!
Leera was homeschooled and traveled her whole life and now that she's lost her parents, she has to start her new journey of college all alone. She never excepted to find her fated mate, when she started her photojournalism class.
Roman lost his mate and unborn child over 500+ year ago, while he is still the strong warrior he was before, he's definitely changed. He came to the human realm to play hockey and escape the life among royals, and now he found his second chance mate when he least expected it.
Roman is a complete grump towards everyone except for the pack pups & Leera. It was unexpected and cute watching Roman change when it came to Leera. His protectiveneess & his willingness to do anything for Leera was adorable!
Leera definitely missed out on aspects of life due to her constant traveling and being homeschooled. I would have loved to see more of a character development with her opening up to people, understanding situations, & standing her ground in conversations.
This story/series has so much potential and I'm already coming up with several theories of what's to come & and how Leera ended up where she is now. I would have loved to see more happen in this story. And that ending!! Talk about a cliffhanger! I can't wait to see what happens next and to see if my theories are correct!

This book was a great debut for this author! It's a fast read, and it's fun having a hockey romance with shifters!
Really, I would rank this closer to 3.5⭐️. I think the author can only go up from here. It didn't have anything to do with the storyline, you can just tell this is a first book. I think it could have been better if it was a little longer for the sake of getting more details. There's a lot more telling than showing.
Leera has only ever had her parents in her life, and they have recently passed away in a car accident. She's off to college and is trying to figure out who she is and getting used to being a student. She's striving to be a photo journalist, like her parents were. She's at her first assignment, interviewing the city's hockey team, when the team captain walks into the room, and walks out in a rage. She has an unexplainable draw to him and is shocked when he shows up on her doorstep...little does she know, she's about to learn that shifters and all the other mythical creatures exist.
I'm really intrigued, and this one leaves you on a cliffhanger! Be prepared for that! I'm looking forward to the next book and the development of this author!

My Pucking Mate: A Paranormal Hockey Romance by Izzy Elliott is book one in the Pucking Werewolves series. This is Izzy Elliott’s debut novel and it is amazing. If you like fated mates, grumpy/sunshine, paranormal, werewolves, found family, hockey romance then you are going to love and devour this book!!!
This hockey romance was so good but too short I needed more. I was very disappointed that I was left on a cliffhanger only because I am very impatient and have to wait to find out what happens to Leera. I thought the story was so good I finished it in one day. I loved the MC’s Roman and Leera. I also loved the side characters Zoey, Dolos, Eris, Slate, Andrei and Benny. The funny banter, supernatural elements, the moment Roman realizes that Leera is his fated mate, the inner wolves, the bonds these friends had, all of these made the book so much fun to read. My Pucking Mate was such a fun read! I was totally hooked, and just when I felt like the story was about to really take off… the book ends?! I nearly lost it. That cliffhanger completely ruined my evening—in the best and worst way! To make matters worse, I found out that the second book isn’t even out yet, so now I have to wait to see if my theories about what happens next are right. Talk about torture!
I absolutely love how Leera’s modern, slightly scatterbrained, and awkward personality clashes with Roman’s old-fashioned, chivalrous, and almost out-of-his-time demeanor. But seriously, the age gap between them is insane—it takes the concept of "age gap" to a whole new level. And yet, their dynamic works so well! I’m beyond excited to see how their story develops in the next book Izzy Elliott, and I have no doubt I’ll devour it just like I did this one.
If you love fantasy and werewolf stories with a modern twist, I absolutely recommend this book. Just be ready for that cliffhanger!

Leera's life is tossed upside down when her parents don't come home and she's forced to figure it out on her own. At least she had a plan in place to head to collage. Little did she know that she would meet the man who would change her life forever and suddenly the life she had growing up is changed forever.
I love Leera so much she's an adorable character you can't help cheering her on as she learns to deal with everything. Roman is kind of perfect he's got some issues that he needs to deal with but he can't fight the connection anymore than she can. They have this sweet insta love connection that just works. I really felt that I was able to connect with Leera she's just a sweetheart. Roman is swoon worthy in every way.
This is my first book by the author and I'm hooked on her writing style. I ended up devouring My Pucking Mate in just an afternoon it was impossible to put down till the very end. I read this book knowing I have a love for shifter men and fated mates and meeting Leera and Roman sealed that fate for me. Meeting them through Izzy Elliott's debut novel was a breath of fresh air and sheer perfection on so many levels.. it's more of a slow burn romance that imprinted on my heart because their foundation was built on Romans willingness to give Leera the "human" dating experience even though they are fated mates and her willingness to understand his world and the idea of being his mate because she too can feel the pull that tethers their souls together.. Romen this big shifter man who found his heart beating again for Leera after the pain of losing his first mate and Leera who's learning who she truly is after her world is rocked by the loss of her parents have found each other and a place of healing and that maybe they have been granted a greater destiny in all of their loss by the moon goddess herself and that their destiny is now open to so much more than they could've imagined. These two will give you all the feelings as they navigate this new love together and overcome obstacles along the way.. it's sweet and gentle and just pure joy to the soul.. I'm excited to continue to see their story unfold as this does end in a cliffhanger but I promise you there is so much more to come and the ride will be so incredibly worth it.. this book absolutely has captivated my heart and now it's intertwined in their love story.. their HEA will be one for the vault and I'm absolutely ready for it! Roman and Leera were so cute.
I loved seeing these two. It was so fun to see this world come together. Having the lore woven into the current day telling was fun, while also having the lore of werewolves being woven into professional sports.
Having the family units and the family bonding shine through and having them fully supporting each other was a fun team dynamic that went home with the boys everyday.
Roman is the leader of the team, the captain of the team and also the alpha. He’s gone through a lot in his life and isn’t looking to change anything.
Leera has gone through some tough times. She’s faced a hard few bumps in the road but is looking to turn things around.
When they meet it’s impossible to believe. For so many reasons. They find each other and hold on.
There is a cliffy in this one…it sets it up for the next book that I’m desperately waiting for.

I love hockey romance. And I love paranormal romance. And the fact that this is a paranormal hockey romance, I had to read this! My Pucking Mate was such a cute, cozy read. It’s perfect for the Fall season!

Any book that combines my two favorite things to read about (wolf shifters and hockey) I’m so in! I loved this book! My Pucking Mate is a second chance paranormal romance that gives us the heat and a bit of mystery. The characters and-storyline are really well written! Leera (FMC) goes through so much in the first book. I’m excited to see her character growth in book two! The cliffhanger has me up in arms! I need book two! This one needs to be on your TBR!

This was a very quick read for me . At first it took too long for the main characters to meet and then when they finally met their relationship was so rushed hence the insta love . I hated the other woman drama I felt it was totally unnecessary ( I can't really complain because the author warned about those things before getting into the book ) . Overall this book wasn't meant to be taken seriously maybe a pallet cleanser if you love any of those tropes above .
