"There is magic in words." That's a perfect description of this book. It is said by our main character Drastona. That's what this book is...magic. I could ramble all day about this novel. Or even this series! I was blown away with the first two books thinking it couldn't get better!? Could it?? Yes. Yes it does. I'm amazed and in awe with this authors story telling! This story is so vivid with detail and so full of adventure that every page becomes a new favorite of yours! She dug deep and truly connected with her characters and you can definitely tell because the investment to this story gets embedded to your soul. Every character binds itself to you. If you are ready to meet new friends and get lost in this amazing journey RK Ryals has imagined up for you then you need to snatch this book up! The world is full of fascinating destinies, mysteries, deceit, love, choices that forever change you. Don't miss out on this epic tale of pure entertainment at its best!!! Words!! Thank you to the author for sharing this with us!! I will forever keep this in my heart! I can not wait for the next installment!! I miss my dear friends already!!!! I started this series because I was given the books for my honest review and I was hooked from the very beginning. I've cried, I've laughed, and I swore up and down at the loss of my favorite characters but nothing prepared me to fall so hard for this series. Drastona or Stone as her friends call her grew from he scared little girl who wanted nothing more than to be a scribe to the strong and fearless woman who would lead her people to freedom no matter what the cost to her.
She fought many battles and found love in the darkness but in the end she found who she was truly destined to be.
Stone also made friendships that she never had before. Friends that would give their lives to protect her.
Friends, even hour their world was on the brink of destruction, would follow her to the ends of the earth.
This book was just Amaizing.. So much loss but out of the ashes came life anew.
Lochlen was my favorite character.. He is a dragon but can shift himself to a human form. The only thing giving him away are his eyes.. He's cocky and hard but honest and loyal to his friends. he's one of Stones closest friends and she finds comfort with him.
In the last books Stone lost a lot. her freedom, her family, and mostly her first love but she found that life must go on and that she had bigger issues that needed her full attention. With the crazy King Raemon trying to take over Medesia she had to figure out how to kill him before anymore destruction could happen.
With prince Cadeyrn by her side anything was possible. He was also a fearless leader. Strong and valiant, he had lost so much in this war, it had made him closed off and angry but his friendship with Stone had changed him. they fed off of each others power. It calmed hem and with no words spoken they took solace in each other's company.
I loved every word on every page of this book. I rooted for the good guys and hoped the bad would die slow and painful deaths. Was that wrong of me, nah.. The creeps deserved all my hate. I was a little let down but I guess not every happy ending is exactly the way we want it to be..
The best cry I've had in forever.. thank you R.K. Ryals for letting me into this cruel world.

One word.—Brilliance! There really are no words to describe the haunting beauty that is portrayed on the pages, the magic that pours from every word. It’s one of her bests and one of my favorites.

At the end of Tempest, Stone lost it all. With her heart broken beyond repair, she is driven by one thing—to save her people from the tyranny of the mad King. Fist of Furor starts where we left off. The Kingdoms on the cusp of war, Stone tries to accept her role as the Phoenix., with acceptance she can better help the rebels fight for their freedom.
With new threats on the horizon and complications from new female guests in the castle has made life for Stone intense to say the least. To make matters worse, she is forbidden to visit with the Prince for their nightly chats. With more betrayal within the castle walls, she is more dependent on the loyalty of the animals to keep her and her friends save.. Just when Stone thinks she knows exactly who she is and her responsibilities, a divine visitation turns everything she thought she knew upside. Will she be able to overcome this new hardship or will the burden be the final wave to pull her under?

I know I have said it before but this is my all-time favorite series. Ever. R.K.’s storytelling is heartbreakingly beautiful, captivating and without equal. She pulls emotions from you as if the characters themselves are loved ones and in a way they are. She has an uncanny ability to create awe-inspiring worlds and fierce characters that you can’t help but fall for. This is one series you can’t pass up. For lovers of Tolkien and C.S. Lewis, this should be next on your list!

I really wonder why I put myself through this darn series, oh I know it's addicting but heartbreaking and I swear to God the next book in the series needs to be more uppity all this crying is pi**ing me off. My heart broke so many times in scenes and I know this is a fantasy series and fighting for what you believe in but everyone knows I'm more of a romance-y person and focus on that then anything else. So my heart is breaking in a non-death sort of way (I'm not sure that makes sense) "Cadeyrn lifted me, no strain on his face. "It's time to plan a double wedding," he said. "First I marry, and then we march on Medeisia. There is no more time games." Wow, talk about all business Cadeyrn. I did like how Cadeyrn was possessive of Stone, but it was short lived (my happiness that is) "the right of war says nothing about marriage making it null. I've already claimed her. Would you have me consummate it, too?" Cadeyrn asked." The ending just broke my heart, "my eyes fell closed. It didn't surprise me really. I'd been the one to suggest the union, and yet the pain that lanced through my heart was stronger than I'd ever expected it to be." Of course R.K. got an earful from me, and she cleared things up so I hate her less right now :)

I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed with Fist of the Furor.
Be warned the next paragraph has a BIG spoiler.
My disappointment is about Cadeyrn's marriage. I have fairly strong feelings about being married. That when the romantic interest is married, then that's it, move on to someone else. I didn't like how the relationship still seemed to progress between Drastona and Cadeyrn. Everything about his marriage seemed wrong but it didn't help make me feel better about their bond. I really felt since the beginning of the first book (when we heard the prophecy) that Stone and Cadeyrn were meant to be, so it was all a big let down. Especially because, now that he has a baby on the way, I'm not keen for him to be with anyone but his baby's momma.
Funny thing is, I have got to give R.K. Ryals credit, because the story was completely absorbing despite not really liking the way it progressed.
I'll definitely be reading the next one. By the time it's out I'm sure I'll be over my disappointment and eager to see what she has in stall for Stone next. I just hope she get's her happily ever after. She deserves it.

I was given this as an ARC for honest review... I must say I am a advid R.K Fan and have read everything she has written and this is book I believe is my favorite..
Drastona and Caderyn must join forces along with the Rebels to take the King Raemon.
Drastona learns so much more about herself and what he destiny just might entail for her. You hear from Kye *swoon* this makes Drastona happy and sad and quite frankly it makes me happy and sad too.. As R.K knows I have a love for Kye!
Caderyn has some twists and turns to deal with as well along with a couple marriages ;) the kidnapping of an heir to the throne.. Sadeemia is in just as much turmoil and chaos as Medeisia.
Drastona learns of new allies when everyone needs them the most..
R.K does not fail at this amazing read! well written keeps you wanting more! now where is book 4......

this series is so good. fighting for your beliefs against all odds, falling in love, dealing with heartbreak. it has everything your looking for in a great book, love, suspence, and battles. I can't wait for the next book! R.K you have out done yourself again! such a talented writer!

I thought that the whole series was interesting. But the bad guys could have been more developed. Also the glowing tattoo thing linked to the dragon pendant didn't flow well for me. overall good story but needed more development in some areas.

This is the 3rd book in a series...and a MUST read!! Once you read the first book you will be hooked!! And I cant wait for the next!!!

I wasn't entirely surprised that I didn't especially love this book, as Book Two was equally disappointing. But I had hoped that downward spiral that began in Tempest was just a symptom of middle-bookitis.
It wasn't.
The brilliant start that was Mark of the Mage continued to unravel here. And while my appreciation of Stone grew (it was good to see Ryals [spoiler]move away from the MarySueness that had threatened late in Mark of the Mage and continued in Tempest[/spoiler]), I found it increasingly difficult to remain engaged with just about every other aspect of the plot.
I think, perhaps, I perceived an indecisiveness (real or imagined) to the storytelling that ultimately put me off.

Another really great book in the Scribes of Medisia series. I picked this up after finishing the second book and couldn't put it down. It was fast-paced and a lot of things happened quickly but was still well-written and explored the thoughts a feelings of the characters. Stone spends this book learning more about her powers, getting ready for war and dealing with all the politics surrounding the royalty at the place in Sadeemia. She is still grieving for Kye but is learning to let Kye go and finds unexpected feelings for Caderyn developing - even though they both realise nothing will ever come of them. Her role in the prophecy and the events of this series finally became clear but now her future is uncertain - her destiny is entirely her own to make. This book ended with the rebels' costly victory of King Raemon and a broken and haunted Medisia looking forward with hope to a time of rebuilding. I can't wait to see what will happen in the next book and how Stone will help rebuild her country. It will also be interesting to see if Caderyn and Stone end up together in some capacity - even though at this stage they are separated by the necessities of politics. I honestly have no idea what will happen next. I'd recommend picking up this series if you love young-adult fantasy and are looking for something really easy to read that is engaging and unique.

Excellent!!
So entrancing was this story that I finished it in less than a day. While it is a young adult book, it is a complement to the author that I finished this book so quickly. Something I have never done before and may never do again. I could complain about the run on and fragmented sentences. For me at least, they didn't detract from the amazing characters I have become fond of or the entrancing story I felt compelled to devour as fast as I could. I would recommend the trilogy. I will have to look for more books in this series as I know the author wrote at least one more book in this series.
I would like to thank the author for the entertainment and sense of wonder the book has given me while I read it. I am sure I will reread this series of books a second time at least. I enjoy sharing adventures with old friends and I look forward to new adventures with these same friends. Thank you.

Fist of the Furor by R.K. Ryals is the 3rd book in the Scribes of Medesia fantasy series. I absolutely love this series and am very attached to the characters. The characters are so well developed and have such strong personalities that I easily feel
like they are my friends. And that makes me very emotionally vested. Let me tell you, this book was an emotional roller coaster with highs and lows and surprising twists. The story is so well written that I easily imagine this fantasy world and I am transported to it.
As far as I'm concerned this is a must read for any fantasy lover. It has magic and dragons, gods and goddesses, sexy book boyfriends & strong female characters, and love & friendship.

Where do I begin? I've never been a huge fantasy reader, but this series has converted me! R.K. Ryals has awed me more with each of the books in The Scribes of Medeisia Series, and Fist of the Furor was beyond my expectations!! It is thoroughly spectacular! The characters, the intrigue, the twists and turns will all leave you breathless. There are honestly not enough stars to give. I love everything R.K. Ryals has written, but this book is a masterpiece! Be prepared for a book hangover, because your heart will be with Drastona and the rebels long after you read the last page. I am recommending this book and this series to everyone I know!

There were some really amazing and totally unexpected moments in this book. Most of the time I can see plot twists coming because I'm a writer and an avid reader, but Ryals had me at least three times in this book. It's not often that you can set up your MC to be one thing the entire time, only to have them turned on their head mid-book 3 and then still have it work. But Ryals totally made it work and has secured me as a fan for the rest of this series. Loved it! Can't wait until the next book.

Though I'm still annoyed by the character's name and nickname, I am impressed by how much stronger this third book is than the two preceding. Plot twists that weren't expected but still believable. And I'm still curious about the lead, feeling like I don't know her as well as I would like to. Strange to be simultaneously annoyed and thrilled and confused by the ending chapters, but it certainly wasn't boring.

Best book I've read this year! Or at least for a very very long time, and it's not just this book but the whole series is amazing. R.K Ryals is an awesome story teller that captures readers attention from the first sentence of her books. This series made me laugh,cry, grieve, love all the characters, and make me feel like I am apart of this fantastic world there is no words to express how much I loved this series! Will definitely be reading more by r.k Ryals.

I really liked the first installment in this series and enjoyed reading the second one as well, though less so. This third book, however, was a total downer. Not just the dark plot line, but also the disappointment of poor writing with flow problems, heavy-handed moralizing, flat emotional scenes, and lack of satisfying character interactions. I won't be reading the fourth book.

I have not only a 4th book to look forward to in the continuing adventures of Stone, but a new series set in Guarda and Yorbrook (part of the same world). Guys, and I don't say this lightly, Ryals has joined Maria V Snyder in fantasy writers that I want to read all books from.

I'm glad there is another book, this ending kind of sucked. I'm not saying it was a bad book, I'm saying I want more for Stone. this ends bitter sweet and I want a happy ending. the end fight scene was a little confusing at first and had to be explained. still don't like the covers.

this is a total aside, but bizarrely i couldn't help but notice that caderyn always seems to make his entrance shirtless or naked in this book. i spent some amount of time puzzling over why but gave up.

This book left me grappling with so many emotions. There were several surprises & twists in the novel that made you gasp & your heart filled with sorrow. Great book.

It was fine, but it had been too long since I read the earlier books to be properly invested in the characters, everyone was unhappy, and it was too war-focused. I put it down one day and haven't felt the need to pick it up again. Shame, since I liked the first books, full of unexpected turns

Huge, epic, painful, tender.... by far one of the best series I've read...
The third book was definitely equal to it's 2 predecessors. And I hadn't realized before, but there is a 4th! You can bet I'll be starting that tomorrow. Update.. book 4 not available yet ...
