The night my heart got broken, I was certain of two things:
1. My partner was a lying cheat. 2. Will Béchard knew all along.
One year into single parenthood, Sophie can feel her dreams — and social life evaporating. Her best friend Avery is traveling the world, her possibly ex-friend Tania is icing her out, and her party planning business is at an all-time plateau.
But the minute Sophie decides to do something for herself? The past comes knocking.
Will never quite got over the flirty blonde who definitely ogled him at the club…ten years ago. If she hadn’t chosen his (ex) best mate instead, maybe Will wouldn’t have racked up quite so many one-night-stands since.
Still. What Could Have Been is going to have to take a backseat to Right Now, because he’s about to become Sophie’s business consultant. Even though, as far as she’s concerned, Will is Public Enemy No. 2.
Forced together by Fate’s idea of a joke, Sophie and Will scramble to keep things professional. As profits go up, old defenses fall down — but Sophie can’t help asking, why would he stay?
Charlène Boutin writes swoon-worthy stories that will make you laugh, cry, but most of all, warm your heart.
Originally from Val-d’Or, Québec (Canada), she spent 6 years in Red Lake, Ontario and 6 more years in Montréal, Québec, which has given her fodder for both small-town AND city-driven love stories. She now lives in Granby, Québec, with her partner, son, and cat.
When she’s not reading or writing, you’ll find her boulder climbing or spending quality time with her family.
First I would like to thank Charlène for gifting an ARC. This was the first novel I’ve read of the author and I’m definitely going to continue reading her works.
This is such a cozy fall type read. Those that enjoy Hallmark type books will eat this up. Will is the definition of a green flag and I love how he always checks in with Sophie if she is ok, comfortable, or doesn’t hesitate to help out with her kids. He’s been down bad for her for the past 10 years.
I'm really happy to have had the opportunity of reading this book before its launch! I had already loved the first book (Summer Kind of Love), I gave it 4.5⭐ but this book?? Oh god it really did exceed the first one! From the characters background story and growth to the chemistry between them! I loved every second of it, couldn't literally put it down! Please give this author a chance, I promise you, you won't regret it! Charlene's writing is beautiful and can make you feel so many different things!
I have never read anything by this author before and I am SO pleased to say I’ll be seeking out more of her work. I love seasonally appropriate stories so I signed up to receive the ARC on whim. I am so pleasantly surprised at this love story. It was nearly flawless in my eyes. All of the characters and relationships felt natural and real. I could envision everything so clearly in my mind like I was watching a movie. From the bigger conflicts to the internal struggles the couple grapples with, nothing read as contrived or forced for the plot. The pace moved well without sacrificing detail. Sophie and Will had a believable backstory and incredible chemistry. Although I wasn’t sure initially, even the plot lines with Matt and Tania wrapped up neatly. This was just a perfect cozy fall romance to curl up with and read on a chilly day.
I received an ARC of “Fall Into You” in exchange for an honest review. I love to read a cozy rom-com hallmark type of book. One that makes me want to visit the charming small town, especially when it is autumn and the leaves are falling and changing colour. Especially when the main male love interest is a strikingly handsome business man. This story is no exception.
Not only does this story encompass the heartfelt warm and cozy feeling, it also has an emotional connection that will pull on your heartstrings. The story explored representations and topics in relation to family drama, mental health, postpartum health and family dynamics and struggles. Many of the emotional struggles that the main characters experienced, were very relatable on a personal level.
I also enjoyed the representation of Canada, the setting in Montréal and some of the Canadian culture that was depicted throughout the story.
I would like to thank the author for providing me the opportunity to read an advanced copy of “Fall Into You”. I throughly enjoyed the story and look forward to reading future works.
Just finished Fall Into You by Charlène Boutin, and it’s such an emotionally moving read! 🌿💫 Sophie, a single mom of three in Montreal, is juggling her business, her ex, and Will—her ex’s ex-best friend—who’s been in love with her for 10 years. 😍 Watching their relationship finally unfold was so heartwarming.
Being a mother myself really helped me relate to Sophie’s story. Her struggles, her strength, and the way she balances everything resonated with me on such a personal level. 💕
What really hit me were Will’s personal struggles and family drama. Seeing him go through it all added so much emotional depth to the story. His love for Sophie is undeniable, and their journey is a beautiful mix of healing and second chances. 🖤
If you’re into stories about love, family, and finding your way through the tough times, this one’s for you. 📖
Grab a cup of your favourite warm beverage, curl up with your softest blanket, and block out an afternoon to enjoy this super cozy autumn read. 🍂☕️
I don't usually gravitate toward single-mom storylines, but when I saw that this one featured forced proximity, found family, and a touch of "she hates him, he pines for her," I knew I had to read it. Beyond being a great romance with a hint of spice, the author tackles tough topics in a respectful and authentic way.
Sophie is divorced and carries the weight of doing it all. Although her ex, Matt, sees and cares for their children, he's more like a babysitter than a co-parent. Sophie is focused on expanding her business, but her personal life often holds her back: her newborn needs constant care, and when her eldest is sick, daycare calls her to pick him up, forcing her to drop everything and risk losing clients. Enter Will-a business consultant and, incidentally, her ex-husband's best friend. Will is eager to help, but can she trust a man who knew her husband was cheating?
The backstory to their relationship is clever, the banter -both over text and in person-is excellent, and the pining... it's so well done. Sophie reminded me of so many women in my life who sacrifice daily for their children but absolutely deserve a happy ending. And Will is the perfect male lead. There are countless thing to love about him, but when he made homemade poutine with Sophie's girls, he officially became a book boyfriend. lykyk.
If you enjoy reading any of the following, this is for you: 🧡 Forced Proximity 🧡 Sick Caretaking 🧡 Family Drama 🧡 Single Mom 🧡 Ex's Best Friend 🧡 Montréal Fall Vibes
Fall Into You is the second book in the Seasons of the East Coast series (interconnected standalones but I highly recommend reading the first, Summer Kind of Love first). Fall Into You follows Sophie, a recently divorced mother of 3 and Will, her ex-husbands best friend. Sophie and Will have known each other for 10 years, they were instantly attracted to each other the first night they met but after Will ditches her best friend, Avery, at a bar, Sophie makes up her mind that he’s an awful person. For the next 10 years, Sophie tolerates Will’s presence in her life with reluctant politeness that is until her marriage comes crumbling apart. Sophie hates Will, believing he knew about her ex-husbands affairs but things are not what they seem and when Will and Sophie are thrust back into each others lives, she left wondering if she was wrong about him all along.
I absolutely loved this book start to finish! Sophie and Will’s story was funny, cute, emotional, and real. I also loved as a Canadian (albeit a West Coast one) the setting of Montreal in the Fall, I mean come on, is there a more picturesque place ??🍁 I felt this book was more lighthearted than Summer Kind of Love was but the author still tackled some very tough topics, such as cheating and abuse, eloquently! And although I’m not a mother, I really loved the body positivity surrounding postpartum bodies! Honestly, this was just such a sweet Fall romance 🍂
Here is some more of the delightful things you’ll find in this book: 🍁Ex’s best friend 🍁He falls first 🍁She hates him 🍁Single mom 🍁Forced proximity 🍁Family Drama 🍁Canadian East Coast setting 🍁Fall romance
I want to thank the author for providing me an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review 💕
4⭐️I was really happy to receive an ARC! The story was feel good. I wanted a bit more angst with Matt but all in all I loved the pushed and pull between Sophie and Will. I also felt a lot for Sophie and the pains and struggles of being a single mom. I think back to my mom and I could really relate.
I am so incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have received an advanced copy of Fall Into You from Charlene Boutin!
Fall Into You is such emotionally moving read that is wonderful for fall! 🍁☕️ I love Sophie and truly think she is such an inspirational FMC. She is a single mom and she is juggling raising three kids all while having a career and I truly feel for her and everything she is trying to do. Something I did struggle with while reading this is that I didn’t feel there was a major conflict. I felt there were lots of moments where there were major misunderstandings but I was really hoping for more conflict. I also thought there were some areas of the story that fell flat for me and it made it hard for me to keep my interest during those parts. On the other hand though I love that this book takes place in Montreal because it is a city that holds such a special place in my heart! ❤️ If you love second chances, single mom, hallmark vibes, Montreal, and emotional reads then this is a book you should give a chance!
This book certainly gives Hallmark movie vibes. The setting is in Montreal, much like a Hallmark movie is set at Christmas (i.e. there’s a Christmas tree in a single scene, ergo it’s gotta be Christmas). Likewise, the poutine and Montreal smoke meat sandwich made this a book set in Montreal. Brilliant. The sporadic references to parks and streets seem haphazardly thrown in as a side thought. Similarly, its fall. How can you tell? The numerous reordered tellings of red, orange and golden leaves on the trees, ground, etc.
The characters felt flat to me. The storyline was unfulfilling. The plot line of the party business didn’t really get resolved.
This book is ex’s best friend, single mom, fall vibes! My favorite character is 100% Will. I love Sophie too but man the way Charlène wrote Will is just chef’s kiss, he is the most perfect fictional man. My favorite part of the book is the dancing scene in the kitchen. That is just something I dream of having and reading it and watching it play out in my head is just such an amazing feeling. I loved this book so much, there’s just so many scenes I want to talk about but since this book isn’t out yet, I shall refrain.
Fall into you had everything I wanted from a fall romance. The FMC, Sophie, was relatable, likeable and real. The MMC, Will, was written perfectly. Just spicy enough. Highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys single mom, ex’s best friend, she hates him, and forced proximity!
Fall into you is the first book I've read for single mom tropes and I would have to say it completely melted my heart. This book shows not to judge a book by its cover or to judge people just because of who they associate with or what you've been told, it's always the best to find it out for yourself! All I have to say without spoiling anything is Will is the absolute sweetest🥰❤️ I highly recommend this book and have already suggested it to some of my closest friends🫶🧡
This was such a lovely cozy fall vibes read! I absolutely devoured it. I was so excited to receive an and ARC and review it! The book had a lovely Canadian setting, amazing banter between characters, tension to keep you wanting more. Sophie is navigating her life with 3 kids. Will is excelling in his career but has some past trauma. The chemistry between Sophie and Will is HOT! Such a great book, highly recommend!
Os protagonistas conquistaram completamente o meu coração, principalmente o Will.
ENG 🇬🇧
Firstly, I would like to thank the author for providing an ARC of her book and for the opportunity to read it before its release.
I can say that this book got me out of a reading slump because from one moment to the next I was already at 50%. So, yes, it is a book with a very fluid story.
The book undoubtedly has very important themes such as anxiety, the fact that the protagonist is a single mother of 3 children, family problems, and the difficulty of admitting that sometimes it's okay to ask for help from those who love us.
The protagonists completely captured my heart, especially Will. Everything this man did for the love of his life, even sacrificing his happiness (despite all the mistakes he made too) won my love from the first moment.
The only aspect that made me give a lower score was the writing. In my opinion, it still needs to be improved and well revised because, for me, some inconsistencies could hinder reading.
Despite this, it is a book that I recommend and without a doubt it is a great book to read at this time of Autumn. The release date is October 24th.
Fall Into You by Charlène Boutin is a gem of a book that I adored from start to finish. This book screams Cozy-Fall-Romance-Vibes and I ate it up! Although this is the second book in the East Coast Series, it can be read as a stand alone. I haven’t read the first book in the series, Summer Kind of Love, yet I had no problem following along. That being said, I will 100% read the first book in this series as I thoroughly enjoyed Fall Into You.
Part of the reason I liked Fall Into You so much was because the FMC Sophie was a stellar character. She was fiercely independent, strong and a survivor. She didn’t take crap from anyone and was a successful business owner and mother. That being said, Sophie had her struggles. She is now a single parent after she caught her philandering husband in bed with another woman. Even worse, Sophie was very pregnant with her third child when said event occurred. To say Sophie’s plate is full is an understatement. She has 3 children under the age of 5 and runs her own successful party planning business. But just as Sophie is about to expand her business her main employee quits with no notice and Sophie needs help!
This is where our swoon-worthy MMC Will comes in. Will is a gorgeous successful consultant that helps small businesses expand and improve. Did I mention that Will also happens to be the best friend of Sophie’s ex-husband and therefore a mortal enemy by association? Well I’m sure you can put two-and-two together and predict that Sophie and Will are reunited but their reunion is anything but Roses and Sunshine.
While Fall Into You is undeniably a feel good read, the author also touches on difficult topics (single parenthood, infidelity, parental abuse, mental health and fibromyalgia), but in such a respectful and thoughtful way. Kudos to you Charlène Boutin.
Thank you so much Charlène Boutin for my e-arc of Fall Into You. This was hands down a Five 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁 read.
✨𝔸ℝℂ ℝ𝔼𝕍𝕀𝔼𝕎✨ Fall Into You by @charleneboutinwrites Coming October 24! ⭐️5/5
Fall Into You, Book 2 of The Seasons of the East Coast series, is the perfect cozy, Fall rom-com. I literally just finished it and I wish I could read it for the first time all over again. 🍁 the book follows, Sophie, single mom of 3 and Will, her ex husband’s best friend as they navigate a new business arrangement while she hates him and he pines for her. Fall Into You left me feeling all the feels. The emotion in this book is so raw - left me crying on a few occasions as I read about Will’s troubled childhood, his relationship with his sisters and Sophie’s feelings about her post partum body (which I know every Mom will relate to, I know I sure did and still do at times and my kids are 16 and 19) 🍁 this story is told in dual POVs and has amazing character development and relatable characters. Fall Into You is a beautifully written book that tackles heavy topics with honesty and grace. I highly recommend this beautiful book to anyone looking for an uplifting romance. And…if you haven’t read the 1st book “Summer Kind Of Love” grab that one, too! You won’t be disappointed.
Thank you so much to Charlene for gifting me an advance reader copy of this incredible book in exchange for an honest review. I cannot wait for book 3 🤎
Fall into You is the second book in the Seasons of the East Coast series. Fall into You follows single mom Sophie who is struggling with taking care of her three kids and running her event planning business after her ex-husband Matt cheated on her a year ago and Will ex-best friend of Matt and all around asshole (according to Sophie). As Sophie struggles to juggle her business, a baby and her two girls, she reluctantly teams up with Will to help her come up with a plan to keep up with the growing demands of her business. But as Sophie and Will become closer and trust begins to form Sophie, he realizes Will isn't who she thought he was at all.
I really liked this book. It was a sweet read, and I was rooting for the two main characters the whole time! I loved it being set in fall, and I loved how it's set in Canada as well!
As a mom, I realated so much to many parts of the book. I understand the struggles she's going through, and with a toddler myself, I see my little one in Heather 😊 This romance felt so heartwarming and real 😊 looking forward to reading more of her books!
Fall Into You is the second book in the Seasons of the East Coast series by Charlène Boutin. I read the first book and loved it, but this one? The story of Will and Sophie? It was EVEN BETTER! Wow, I adored every minute of this book. Sophie is a single mother who has gone through a lot with her jerk of an ex-husband. I felt I could relate to her feelings and struggles from previous toxic relationships as well as being a mother of three myself (grown now, but I remember those days like it was yesterday). Without giving away any spoilers, Will was someone Sophie had known for years and their love story was so sweet and wholesome and beautiful. I could not stop grinning the goofiest big grins. The Québecisms made me smile too, especially as a Canadian who went to a French immersion school. It made me feel like I was in Montréal every time she mentioned places, or added in the lingo.
Thanks for the ARC Charlène! Very happy to add it to my collection! Very much looking forward to the next one.
Tomorrow is ✨release day✨ for this incredible book!
Finally a book that is written about a single mom, that shows how parenting actually is! Includes the nitty gritty of being a single mom while also keeping the reader hooked.
Sophie is a single mom to three young children. She is trying to improve her party planning business & that is how Will comes back into her life. He’s her ex’s ex-best friend. She hates him & is not welcoming when they meet again. Will, who has secretly been pining after Sophie the past 10 years but never acted on it, is now a consultant for businesses such as Sophie’s.
These two beautifully flawed main characters, Sophie & Will, truly draw you in & make you keep reading!
Through misunderstandings & personal issues, Sophie & Will prevail & show us there’s a second chance at love for everyone.
Be prepared for a roller coaster of emotions throughout this book! You’ll likely scream, cry, laugh & throw the book a few times while reading it.
Fall Into You by Charlene Boutin is a touching story centered around Sophie and Will, with a cast of well-developed characters and themes that resonate deeply. One of my highlights of this book is the mention of Océane’s fibromyalgia. It’s refreshing to see chronic illness represented, even in a side character, as it’s not often portrayed in a thoughtful and realistic way. The relationships in this novel are beautifully crafted, especially the bond between Will, Heather, Julian and Gwen. Will’s role as a caretaker for them, as well as for Sophie, adds a layer of tenderness to his character that is both endearing and genuine. The author skillfully portrays these connections, making them feel authentic, heartfelt and quite frankly made them feel real. Character development is a strong point in this book, particularly with Will’s journey. His decision to go to therapy is a significant step that showcases his growth and willingness to confront his own struggles. Charlene Boutin handles this aspect of the story with care, making Will’s evolution feel natural and earned. Especially with him being unable to have kids. Overall, Fall Into You is a beautifully written story with relatable characters and meaningful relationships. It’s a book that handles serious topics with grace and highlights the importance of personal growth and support systems.
Fall Into You is the second book in the Seasons of the East Coast series by Canadian indie author Charlene Boutin.
The small intro to Fall Into You at the end of Summer Kind of Love, the first book in the series, had me shocked and needing to read Sophie's story: supermom Sophie finding her own happily ever after through the trials and tribulations of single motherhood.
♥️ The dedication: "To all the moms who sometimes feel lonely … I see you. And this one’s for us." ♥️ I loved how well Boutin wrote the overwhelm and loneliness that Sophie felt as a mom. ♥️ Sophie as both Super Sophie, the unshakeable woman and business owner who lets nothing stand in her way, and Supermom Sophie ♥️ The way Will steps up to care for Sophie and her kids ♥️ Will wearing baby Julian 🫠
Boutin wrote this book with the intention of warming readers' hearts and making them smile. And she definitely achieved this. It gave me lots of warm and cozy feelings, melted my heart, and made me emotional, all while making me feel the chill of the season. This book also made me, as a mom, feel seen. I saw myself in Sophie. I recognized my thoughts and emotions in Sophie's. And it made my momma heart happy.
"The sight of this man in my kitchen, spatula in hand, wearing my baby as if he were his own, makes my knees go weak. . . This vision is fulfilling fantasies I didn’t even know I had." ~ Sophie
"You pour so much of yourself into your family. Into your work. But at the end of the day … Who takes care of you?” ~ Will
4⭐️ This was such a cozy rom-com hallmark type book 🥹 which is exactly what the girlies need this time of year! This story touched on some serious topics; mental health, postpartum health and family relationships/struggles. The author did a great job taking her reader through these struggles. This man was pining over Sophie for 10 years!!!! We love a patient man 😢 This is my first book by this author and it won’t be my last 🫶🏼
READ IF YOU LIKE: 🍂 forced proximity 🤎 single mom 🍂 ex’s best friend 🤎 he takes care of her when she’s sick 🍂 Canada !!!! 🤎 hallmark vibes
Thank you Charlène Boutin for trusting me with this incredible book. Wow! Just wow! I binged this book in less than 7 hours. I couldn’t put it down! I felt so many different emotions. From anger (towards Matthew) to sadness (towards Sophie) to complete swoon over Will I can honestly tell you this book will stay in my heart for years to come. I’m truly a sucker for the MMC being in secretly in love with FMC for years and no one ever living up to her. Will is definitely book boyfriend worthy. I recommend this story and will always recommend it. I give it the biggest 5 ⭐️ rating I could.
First, I want to thank the author for kindly giving me an ARC of this book! I couldn’t be more grateful! This book is part of an ongoing series that follows different characters. All the books are interconnected standalones, so you can read them in any order.
This book was such a great read! I loved everything about it, and it felt deeper compared to the first one. I think the writing style improved a lot, and the story had much more depth! The characters felt so real, and I loved them.
Will is one of the best book boyfriends I’ve ever come across—he’s the ultimate dream man! The way he steps up and takes care of Sophie and her kids, OMG…
Sophie felt so real to me. These characters are so well written that I feel like I truly know them, like they’re real people!
I recommend this book to anyone who loved Reckless by Elsie Silver and anyone who enjoys the single mom trope with the most respectful man ever!
This reading was really special to me and it have take a big place in my heart. As a mother of two young child, it was easy for me to relate to Sophie struggles. I love that the main characters both deal with insecurities and demon of their past. There is multiple heavy subject in this story but the author talk about it with such lightness that it is smooth to read.
This is a beautiful and realistic love story. Can we talk about Will? GOD, this men is such a great human being. I really enjoyed everything about this story and would recommend it to all the mother who struggle with mental load and the acceptance of their new body.
Merci Charlène Boutin pour la chance de lire ce roman avant sa sortie.
I absolutely loved Fall Into You! It’s a beautiful story about Sophie, a single mom of three, and Will, her ex-husband’s ex-best friend who’s secretly been in love with her for 10 years. Their journey is filled with tension, healing, and second chances, and I couldn’t put it down. The setting in Montreal during the fall made it even more special, and the author handled tough topics like infidelity and family drama with sensitivity.
Will’s character stole my heart, his patience and love for Sophie and the way he took care of her and the kids. The way he has been in love for 10 years secretly. And Sophie her strength is incredible.
The chemistry between Sophie and Will was perfect, and the dancing scene in the kitchen was so sweet. If you love stories about love, family, and overcoming hardships, this is a must-read! Highly recommend
Thank you Charlene Boutin for the ARC! Although this was a fast read, I found it a bit unrealistic and was lacking a bit of detail in some of the plot. The MMC was supposed to help the FMC with work and it left like that part of the story wasn't mentioned much. There were a lot of holes with that and it seemed strange how they just started to hangout with each other a lot after one conversation about the past. It seemed as if the MMC was then not working or doing his job and the story only focused on the romance but the plot wasn't building. The storyline with the MMC's younger sister was dragged on and once we found out about it, it was mentioned over a few paragraphs (somewhat irrelevant). I wish there was a bit more dialogue from Matt about how the FMC and MMC were starting to get along really well, it lacked depth there. The concept was great, it was an easy/quick read, however there was a lot of depth missing from the plot that could have made me rate this 4-5/5 stars.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This is THE cozy fall romance novel of the year. 🍁🤎
I jumped for joy when I received my ARC! The beautiful setting (Montreal, a city I love), amazing banter, tension (🌶️) that gripped me instantly, meets amazing character arcs and development.
Sophie is such a beautiful blend of a sassy, driven woman navigating domestic life with 3 kids. She holds both identities with humility and grit.
Will is excelling in his career but haunted by his family past. He is so hard on himself and wants to be better.
Both characters are truly trying to grow and pursuing paths to make them better on their own. This is what makes this romance exceptionally compelling and addicting. The chemistry is off the charts.
I loved that it wasn’t just a fluffy romance (nothing wrong with those!) but it touched on some deeper and more meaningful themes. Such a great book, highly recommend!
