The shoes should have been terrifying--they were black patent leather pumps with five-inch heels--but Lucy, in spite of a lifetime wearing sneakers and flip flops and Birkenstocks, had fallen in love with them at first sight.


She adored the wicked gleam of the patent leather and the way they made her legs look a mile long. Slipping them on now, she took a couple of practice steps in front of the mirror.


It felt like she was on stilts, but she didn't fall. She tried a couple of hip thrusts.


Then, without warning, her bedroom door opened and Keenan stuck his head in.


"Lucy? Do you have a minute to--"


He froze, and so did she. Their eyes met in the mirror.


Then, as if he couldn't help himself, his eyes traveled down the length of her body.


She made a dive for the tee shirt she'd tossed over a chair, pulling it on over her head. "Get out!" she shouted through the material. "Get out!"

This is a quick but good read. At about 100 pages I devoured this in one sitting, I just wish it was a little longer.

The set-up was good. The characters, both wanted each other, but not letting the other one know. I liked Lucy and her "sheltered" learning environment taking a stand and being bold. Keenan comes off as the all american male, with an alpha bedroom personality that I really wanted to experience more of.

Leyendo la sinopsis esperaba algo quizás un poco diferente, pero me gusto que no haya sido nada de lo que imaginaba. Es muy cortito, con un final quizás no tan cerrado como me gustaría, y todo se resuelve en, literalmente, la segunda mitad del último capítulo; pero en su totalidad no me parece un mal libro. Estuvo bastante bien :)

I agreed to read and review this book for a free copy. The story line was very nice and the characters were very easy to relate to. It was one of those, "I love her/him and she/he doesn't know because I haven't said anything," stories. I enjoyed this book because it was a nice short story but not too short. It was just over 100 pages or so. Long enough and well-written enough to make it a good story. I was able to connect with the H and h both along with all of the secondary characters in the story and to get a nice grasp on the entire story line. It is a perfect book to read if you are trying to put off starting another book for a day or to read before you go to bed at night, depending on how fast you read. Also great for if you want to "cleanse your pallet" if you are making a switch in genre's like from a Dark Romance to a typical HEA. It was a nicely written and overall good short story. Well worth reading!

This was a GREAT short read. Lucy and Keenan are housemates and Keenan fell in love pretty much at first sight. Lucy's attracted to him, but neither of them ever discuss their feelings. They get along great as friends and enjoy each others company. While he discusses his sexual exploits, he teases her for her lack of - but it's all good natured. As Lucy finds and embraces her sexuality, Keenan's jealousy begins to boil.
I love the way that Lucy takes the initiative in her own life as well as with Keenan. I really enjoyed the two of them together. The way the story unfolds pulled at my emotions. My chest even tightened and released in a few moments of anxiousness. I'm so happy that I read this, and I would recommend this to all my book reading friends.

Kate Grey writes a short story about two characters, Lucy and Keenan, who are roommates that actually have feelings for each other but neither knows. This short story (quick read) is mostly about the two main characters trying to get the courage to tell one another the truth about their feelings, justifying to themselves why they are avoiding each other.

When the two characters do finally talk about how they feel about each other the reaction is surprising. What Keenan does is not what I expected, but if the two characters would just talk...to each other about their feelings, they could have been happier sooner. Hence the struggle in the story.

This is a good short story. It reads quickly. The story does end sort of abruptly, I wish there was a little more to the story before the book ended. I enjoyed this author and would read another of her books.

1. es poco relevante si me gusto o no, la percepción cambia dependiendo de la manera o con las esperanzas con que lo leas, y también no soy quien para juzgar.
2. el chabon PELOTUDO.
A ver, como empezar ¿no?
Considero que fue malo todo lo que tenía que ver con él, su historia, su manera de ser me desagradó.
Trata mal a la prota y a mí ni me pinta, es un misoguino que solo ve a las mujeres para cojerselas, se hacer el fuck boy, él sin corazon y el "yo no hago el amor, yo follo" pero anda a hacete cojer.
Y lo de "ojalá me gustara Jessica" (osea la mj de la prota) nononon ESO ME HIZO ENOJAR. Te terminaste de ganar el título de PE-LO-TU-DO.
Quitando a este nefasto, no me gustó que estuviera escrito en tercera persona, parece un fanfic
POSTA. No son buenos recuerdos xd.
Sin más, una perdida de tiempo me pareció.

Lucy was living in Hawaii and working on her masters. Keenan was just finishing his and they had become house mates with two others. But neither realize that they had a strong attraction for each other but didn't act on it.

This was a really fun short read that I came across free on the Kindle store but I would have happily paid for it. The two love interests were easy to like and care for and the hot and steamy scene at the end was totally worth the build up. I only wish it had of been a longer story.
