Elven Council in Ashes

Rate this book
A war is coming. Truths come to light. Sacrifices must be made.

Ivy has always known that the Elven Council holds the fate of both humans and fair folk in their hands, but now their devious agenda threatens to destroy everything she holds dear. Trapped in a realm with an icy princess, deadly amulets, and fresh wounds, the least of Ivy's concerns might be her shattered heart—she may also lose her innate magic. Without a Gathering seed, Ivy won't survive long in either realm.

Orion has finally secured the acceptance and power he's craved all his life and stands at his father's side within the elite ranks of the court. Though he's where he has longed to be, he finds himself torn between the family he's always wanted and the elf maiden he has fallen for. His loyalties are shifting, and one wrong move could cost him everything.

Old prejudices are surfacing, poison is spreading, and allies and enemies are gathering. Ivy and Orion's love and loyalty might be the key to saving their worlds—or the spark that ignites their downfall.

Elven Council in Ashes is the second book in the Alysatraee duology. A story of redemption, fighting when you need to and finding contentment when you don't, and sacrifices that lead to happily ever afters.

Epic conclusion for Ivy and Orion!!

Epic conclusion to the intrigue and suspense in this Duology!
Ivy and Orion's story is at an end and it makes me so sad! Probably because I want more of the sizzling tension, the epic suspense and stakes in the story, and the swoony moments.
This book was a rollercoaster of epic fantasy proportions and I never knew what was going to happen next. The foreshadowing was beautiful while still allowing surprise plot twists to take place, surprising me at every turn.
The romance was swoony, as the tension of the story tore them apart, put them back together.
I loved the increase of side character perspectives, specifically Magdud's character. She's my favorite and I want more of her in future books (I want more of these books).
This world is beautiful and I love the Alysatree lore, and history beautifully woven in that gives me enough to be satisfied but also leaves me with questions and wanting to read more of this world.

Sensing a theme? I need more.

Loved this epic romantic fantasy book.

It was amazing!

Also that teaser chapter for the next book 😍😍 I. Want. It. Now.

💋Kisses only
⚠️grief, some brief violence, and lots of punky characters you want to beat with a candlestick in the fae library

Elven Council in Ashes is a perfect sequel to Elven House of Ivy. With surprises around every corner, this fast-paced page-turner grabbed me from the start. So much so that when I began reading it (at bedtime, of course), I thought the first chapter was strangely long....only to realize I was four chapters in and never noticed!

What I loved most about this second book in the Alysatraee series was that it brought me closer to secondary characters than expected. Here I am, the day after finishing it (in bed, after midnight, of course), and I miss Magdud, Rime, Nym, and Ash already...and am quite content with how Ivy and Orion's story concluded.

So, if you love stories with elves, dragons, subterfuge, good winning over evil, fighting, torture, revenge (and yes, this is a little bit of a kissing book), twists, turns, and more, I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did!

And if you haven't read Elven House of Ivy, grab them both and dig in!

Epic Fantasy with Romance, Treachery, and Intrigue

This story has lots of action. It is the second part of a duology that must be read in order. Ivy is fighting for her life, and for peace in the realms. Not everyone wants peace, so she and Orion, the man she loves are battling the evil forces that did not want them to succeed. If you like action-packed fantasy romance, with dragons, elves, and all manner of creatures, you might like this epic fantasy. It will keep you on your toes.

absolutely amazing!

While I’m so sad Ivy and Orions story is over, I love that they got their happily ever after!

This was such a great book. So many twists and turns, I could not put it down!

I love K.J.’s ability to weave political intrigue and romance and everything in between. She truly has a gift!

And that ending! Was that who I think it is?! Mind blown. Can’t wait for the next books in this world!

Packed with adventure

Such believable characters that are striving to save everyone. Twists and turns abound. Slow burn, clean romance. Ivy, Orion and their allies develop a very complicated plan that depends on on all the pieces falling into place at the right time.
