Wayne Brekke’s “The Complete Guide to Runes: An Essential Reference for Runelore, Meanings, Divination, and Magic” is really a fantastic book. Brekke is a really good writer, and I especially love how he arranged this book. For example, the author lets you know what’s coming, discusses everything in full, and then follows up with a recap, especially when discussing all 3 Ætt’s.
In fact, this book was **so good** that I decided that even though I had borrowed this ebook, by the time that I was halfway through with this book, I decided to buy a Kindle copy of it for my own library.
Brekke arranges this book into three parts and with ten chapters. The author went above and beyond most other authors because at the beg of the book, he provides readers with instructions on how to use the notes feature in Kindle.
I learned far more about runes and rune lore in this book than in any other. In one of my lines, I’m a direct descendant of Harald through his son Sweyn Forkbeard, and I’ve always been attracted to Old Norse culture, so the runes seem to pull at me. And this book just intensified those feelings.
This book is knowledgeable, easy to read, and packed with information. I highly recommend it!

Helpful for beginners. Gave me practical examples and enough visuals to help me get started with my learing. Would have loved something more about bindrunds.
