Love wasn’t something that I ever felt before. I knew how to love because I loved my Yaya more than life. I knew that I could love, because the baby I had grown within me and now held, I loved her more than I loved myself. As I watched this man sleep peacefully beside me, one arm around me, keeping me close, I knew that I loved him. I knew that I could see forever with him, and I knew that he would kill any and everything moving when it came to protecting me.
I am currently running through this series and I I just don't know like each book gets better and better I'm so in tune with these people you would think I was a part of the family I understand all of the praises I 100% understand everything I was saying
Still on this ride and Jahquel still got me 😱with these cliffhangers. At this point Capri gone be ran through before we get to her story🤦🏽♀️. Did anyone find 🔦👀 Joseph Editorial Services yet? They’re still MIA.
What’s annoying me is how this is all being dragged out for no reason other than to justify another book.
Every single random, convoluted scenario that comes up proves over and over again that Ace is not strong, not a strategist, and not even in the right frame of mind—like, ever. Yet, somehow, he still gave them the slip for the entire book. Not to mention, the entire book prior to this one.
It's always "now's not the time," "not here," "damn we just missed him," or my fave, "literally every single person under the sun is here, including these characters that were just introduced two paragraphs ago—oh wait...except him."
The author keeps making it a point throughout Cappadonna’s series (Capone’s included) that they’re essentially these untouchable masterminds that have eyes and ears everywhere and are always ten steps ahead. Then how does this keep happening? Both can’t be true. You can’t create an antagonist—multiple!!, not just one—and write them as incredibly weak and at a vast disadvantage at every single show-off and yet /still/ have them get away. It’s lazy and illogical.
There's luck. There's coincidence. And then there's whatever this is—giving a random side character insane plot armor for the sake of drawing out the series for two more books.
If Standing On Business Was A Family it Would Be The Delgato’s!!
Jahhhh, you’re on fire with this series. These ending are what have us on your neck for the next book 😂. The storytelling is amazing, hilarious characters that stand on business about what’s theirs.
Jahquel intentionally breaks our hearts with these endings! I loved this book just as much as the others. The vulnerability that I saw in this book during the moments where Capone & Cappadonna had their brotherly moments (especially when they first made it to the island), truly showed how close they really are. The way Capp loves & validates Alaia is refreshing, they both deserve this! I am truly team Roy & Joy.. Jean Delgato is the GOAT & true epitome of a wife, mother & mother in law. Ace is a different kind of evil! On to book 3!
Reading this, all I kept hearing is Burning Blue by Mariah the Scientist. It fits book 2 so well.
This was an amazing ending to the second installment in this series. I have no complaints. It was funny, emotional, crazy (always crazy) and beautiful. Couldn't have picked a better series to get sucked into.
10/10 would recommend.
**Please read disclaimers as this series mentions many types of abuse. This is NOT a series to take lightly if you are triggered by heavy topics. Please be cautious.
This book was a waste of time. First of all, it was way too mushy! We get it, Capp and Alaia are in love but we don’t have to read 200 hundred different ways from each of their perspective. I literally found my self skipping around to avoid the repetitiveness.
I’m reading so fast that I can’t even remember my likes and dislikes so I’m gonna assume this is worth a 5-star rating. Let me tell yall, Ace is like an itch I can’t scratch. A UTI that won’t go away. A rock in the bottom of my shoe. ATP, I think everyone is battling for who’s the worst person to exist. Ace is DISGUSTINGGGGGGGGGGG I HATE HIM. He’s created so many enemies for himself, me included. I didn’t like Kendra’s ass either but he bugged out for that. And then the ending?? I’m actually so pissed off. I literally can’t believe this bs 😭 on a more positive note, I love me some Cappadonna. I’m sorry for ever saying that he’s not crazy cause he’s more than that. He’s off his rocker and I LOVEEEEEE it. The things he says are so unhinged but omg he’s so funny. And it’s the way that he doesn’t just whoop someone, he embarrasses them too. Ugh I love him bad. I do think I’m starting to like him over Capone cause I just like my men kind of crazy.
Cappadonna 2.5 didn’t disappoint. Ace is still a complete pain in the ass—loud, messy, and always stirring the pot, but somehow necessary to the mix. Capri really comes into her own here, finally stepping out of the background and showing growth in a way that makes you root for her. I especially liked Alaia—her presence added a balance that kept the story layered instead of chaotic.
What really stood out, though, was seeing Cappadonna outside of Capone’s shadow. Getting more of his own perspective and personality made the book feel fresh, like peeling back another layer of the family dynamic. It gave me more reasons to appreciate him as more than just an extension of Capone.
The pacing dragged in a couple spots, which kept me from giving it a full 5 stars, but overall this installment delivered—raw, entertaining, and filled with characters you love and hate at the same time.
I’m so glad I realized there were novellas to this series before I got all the way through.
The only thing I have to say is that it was really sad. There were some very unexpected deaths. Jahquel J is stressing me tf out. The story started off cute so I was thinking this was going to be some cute filler fluff. I was wrong as hell now I’m mad & sad.
I was not expecting Kendra & Kincaid to die like wtf bro??? and the fact that every antagonist is still living is getting on my nerves bc why tf isn’t Taz dead???? Ugh whatever. It’s like everybody but the right person is getting clipped & don’t even me get me started on Ace. He disgusts me & I’m ready for him to go.
I thought I was done but you know what I’m not I also don’t like how Cappadonna treated Aimee just because she Ace’s sister & it was clear she didn’t mess with him. Instead of just talking to her he was mean & standoffish until she explained the horrible things he did to her.
With that being said Cappadonna is kind of starting to get on my nerves lmao.
