What’s annoying me is how this is all being dragged out for no reason other than to justify another book.

Every single random, convoluted scenario that comes up proves over and over again that Ace is not strong, not a strategist, and not even in the right frame of mind—like, ever. Yet, somehow, he still gave them the slip for the entire book. Not to mention, the entire book prior to this one.

It's always "now's not the time," "not here," "damn we just missed him," or my fave, "literally every single person under the sun is here, including these characters that were just introduced two paragraphs ago—oh wait...except him."

The author keeps making it a point throughout Cappadonna’s series (Capone’s included) that they’re essentially these untouchable masterminds that have eyes and ears everywhere and are always ten steps ahead. Then how does this keep happening? Both can’t be true. You can’t create an antagonist—multiple!!, not just one—and write them as incredibly weak and at a vast disadvantage at every single show-off and yet /still/ have them get away. It’s lazy and illogical.

There's luck. There's coincidence. And then there's whatever this is—giving a random side character insane plot armor for the sake of drawing out the series for two more books.

Loved!

Jahquel intentionally breaks our hearts with these endings! I loved this book just as much as the others. The vulnerability that I saw in this book during the moments where Capone & Cappadonna had their brotherly moments (especially when they first made it to the island), truly showed how close they really are.
The way Capp loves & validates Alaia is refreshing, they both deserve this! I am truly team Roy & Joy..
Jean Delgato is the GOAT & true epitome of a wife, mother & mother in law.
Ace is a different kind of evil! On to book 3!

Jahhhh, you’re on fire with this series. These ending are what have us on your neck for the next book 😂. The storytelling is amazing, hilarious characters that stand on business about what’s theirs.

Forgot to rate and write a review. I went straight to Cappadonna 3 🤣 Everyone is crazy - from the parents to the grown kids - and the drama and action is so entertaining. Cappadonna is the most confident, most ruthless, and most insane. And now he claims that he's A DENTIST 🤣🤦🏾‍♀️

Ace and anyone who backs him up with his stank paranoid ass - including his AWFUL, no good, dirty rotten, crooked wig-wearing mama - your days are numbered. Haven't they learned they're all disposable to Ace? Why does he get so much loyalty? If you haven't been removed by Cappadonna or his people, in the words of Janellope, you been touched by an angel, girl!

Also, KENDRA...why? What did you expect? That scene was triggering and could've been prevented 100%. Several scenes were triggering, but that one in particular 😳

Ummm….

Okay, so I like the storyline of the brothers. And the crew. However, I’m starting to not like Alaia. I’m not sure why. In this particular book. She gives me “whinny” vibes. Like she all of a sudden knows about living the “life” with these bad boys etc. I guess I was use to Erin and her independence. So to go from being pregnant by someone else to moving into a house and loving a man in a matter of pages, didn’t give me a lot of context.
That is all! Now on to 3 💨 Wish me luck

What Was This???

This book was a waste of time. First of all, it was way too mushy! We get it, Capp and Alaia are in love but we don’t have to read 200 hundred different ways from each of their perspective. I literally found my self skipping around to avoid the repetitiveness.

Reading this, all I kept hearing is Burning Blue by Mariah the Scientist. It fits book 2 so well.

This was an amazing ending to the second installment in this series. I have no complaints. It was funny, emotional, crazy (always crazy) and beautiful. Couldn't have picked a better series to get sucked into.

10/10 would recommend.

3.5🌟- It’s a good book with a good plot at the start of series I hated the different pov’s but now it brings it all together for me. But for me I just prefer capone & erin😭 just based on the fact I find alaia & cap kinda dry. I feel as if the fmc doesn’t have much of a personality which ofc makes sense and I get why the author did it. I get so cringed out when she calls him daddy STOPPPP😭😭 whenever characters do that I feel a little sick cos it’s not a bit of meeee
