With over 6 million books sold (and counting), Kathia’s novels have been #1 bestsellers around the world. They’ve received starred reviews from Booklist, have consistently earned Editor’s Picks for Best Romance, and have been featured by O, The Oprah Magazine and Entertainment Weekly.
Kate (aka Kathia) has written over 50 romcom and paranormal books so far, as well as a couple romantasy screenplays and various poems (her ode to the color orange is particularly moving). Full of hope and bonds of found family and friendship, her stories feature sassy, independent women who just want love and earthy men full of heart who are more than able to rise to the occasion.
I’m currently reading the Laurel Heights series (and loving it!), but when I saw the opportunity to hop into Kate’s Summerhill series, I just couldn’t resist!
Kate Perry’s books have strong independent female characters and a plot that you can count on being sweet with just the right amount of steam that always keeps us coming back for more. And her newish series Summerhill is no different.
What happens when bad boy Merrick meets Gigi? Good girl gone bad! That’s what. There is no point in denying the intense chemistry between them, but while both are trying to clean up their image they agree on a secret affair. But we all know that secrets have a way of coming out!
I loved the side story of Holly and Peter, but I only wish there was more! Maybe they’ll get a novella in this series? A girl can only hope. I really hope that Holly and Peter’s story doesn’t get swept to the side because I think it’s just as important and as intriguing as Gigi & Merrick’s!
Similar to Laurel Heights series, Kate allows you the option to read the Summerhill series book-by-book or as a standalone. While I read Let’s Misbehave as a standalone I wish I read the other two books first. And that’s only because I really wanted to get to know Imogen’s (Gigi) sisters better.
Overall, yet another well written book from Kate! This is a well paced, light read that will have you giggling over banter and fanning yourself over all the steamy scenes. I look forward to finishing up Laurel Heights and catching up on this series!
This is my second book by Kate Perry and I have to admit I liked this one a lot more than the other. I may even be interested in reading the rest of the Summerhill stories because the sister have seriously grown on me.
I've been in a bit of a book slump lately and I kept starting books and then stopping because they weren't grabbing my attention. Then I started this, and though it was book 3 in the series I quickly caught up on it and fell into the story.
I liked it from the beginning, it was romance with a few naughty bits which is right up my street and I enjoyed reading Gigi and Merrick's story. They both became who they wanted to be and that bit at the end was really cute.
Yeah, I've been persuaded to carry on the series with Titania's story next, though I'm really wanting to read the one with Luca in :)
This is the story of Imogen/Gigi and her relationship with the politician Meredith. Holly is the woman assigned by the studio to keep her in the public gaze, preferably through scandalous gossip.
Imogen betrayed by her boyfriend not only has nude pictures in the paper, but a video as well. This is a slight reference to the unsavoury practice of revenge porn.
The most interesting aspect of this book is the gnome. It highlights the way we imbue inanimate objects with human characteristics just like our pets. The gnome becomes a challenging and judgemental part of Merrick’s life, spurring him on to make personal changes.
For me this romance was predictable and boring. I think it lacked an emotional engagement with the reader. Merrick’s bill had the potential to be of earth shattering significance, but it appeared as only a side issue, the details only being relevant to his work and personal motivation being a back story. Imogen is fanciful and appears to lack the strength of character necessary for abstinence. In essence she is chasing a part she will never attain and in the end, there are better more worthwhile projects out there.
The more I read, the more I understand, NY Times best seller is just a marketing recommendation not the sign of a good author, as it is influenced heavily by the number of pre-orders.
I think I like this new Summerhill series of Kate Perry's even more than her Laurel Heights books. The Summerhill sisters are unique and interesting, very different from one another, and apparently beautiful, too. I liked Imogen and Merrick separately, but together the sparks really flew. My heart broke when Merrick finally sat down at his piano. Perry spices her stories with little touches of humor that always make me laugh, but the heart of her stories is alway ... the heart.
I enjoyed this book because of the strong characters. Imogen and Merrick (aka Ricky) have a fun, playful relationship which turns to love. The dynamic between all of the sisters is hilarious.
I liked this book a lot better than I thought I would. I thought Imogen and Merrick were great for each other. I did think their relationship developed super quick, but it didn't bother me too much. I would have liked to read more about the side plot with Holly. I understand why it was included, but it maybe could have been developed a little more.
I discovered Kathia quite by accident, reading two novellas where one was by a favorite author, Ava Miles. Kathia is a delightful find, well written and insightful. Her characters are multidimensional and grow through the story. Love a happy ending! Can't wait to read more!
Let's Misbehave is the third book in the Summerhill series by Kate Perry. These books are standalones with interconnected characters. This is the first book of Perry's that I have read, but it definitely won't be my last. I enjoyed Let's Misbehave immensely, and I was really able to lost myself in the story. I finished this book really quickly because I couldn't put it down and had to see what would happen next. I can't wait to go back and read the previous books in this series, and I am really looking forward to seeing what else Kate Perry has in store for the Summerhills next.
Imogen Summerhill is trying to stay out of the spotlight and clean up her image after her ex leaked compromising photos and videos of the two of them. While her studio couldn't be happier, Imogen wants a part in a movie that requires her to keep her nose clean. Looking to be taken seriously, she attends a charity event to try and meet up with the director for the movie roll she wants. She ends up meeting Merrick Graham, also known as the Bad Boy of Politics. They are both instantly drawn to each other, and know that they should stay away from the other. Merrick is trying to get a safety act passed, and doesn't need the distraction or bad press. But the two of them find themselves unable to stay away. They decide to see each other in private, and stay out of the spotlight. But with both of them having such high profile careers and Imogen's studio determined that all press is good press, can they keep their growing feelings and relationship a secret for long?
I really liked Merrick. He was so much more than just the uptight politician he first seems like. He was a musician in a popular band before his sister died, but now he doesn't have anything to do with music. I liked that Imogen was able to get him to see that his sister wouldn't have wanted him to give it all up just because she was gone. He felt a lot of guilt, and it kept him from really being who he was so it was nice to see that Imogen was able to bring him back. He was sexy and had tattoos, but he was more than just a former rock star. He was committed to doing good for others, and trying to prevent horrible crimes from happening. There were a couple of times that I thought that Merrick was a bit quick to judge and made some assumptions, but he was pretty quick to move forward after talking to either Imogen or his friend Valerie. Imogen was easy to like and relate to despite her career. She was nice and approachable, and she saw the good in others even when they didn't always deserve it. I thought that she made a few bad decisions, and she should have been more honest with Merrick at times. There were a few things that she did that bothered me, and I couldn't figure out why she didn't just talk to Merrick about what was going on. I felt like a lot of the issues they had were simple errors in communication, and could have easily been solved if they just would have talked to each other more. But I thought that she was a really great match for Merrick and they fit together perfectly. I thought that Merrick and Imogen had a lot of chemistry and were pretty hot together. I really enjoyed their banter and their wit.
Overall, I really liked this book. At first I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to get into the story because it seemed like a lot was going on. But as I continued to read, I really liked how Kate Perry was able to weave several story lines into one book, and I liked that they were all connected giving this book a well rounded experience. I really enjoyed Merrick and Imogen, but I also really liked Holly's story as well. The Summerhill sisters were all really interesting also, and I loved that they were all so different and unique and yet they were all supportive of each other as a family should be. This book was really easy to get lost in, and I had a great time reading it. I would highly recommend this book to romance fans, and I look forward to reading more from Kate Perry in the future. I am really interested in Titania's story next, and can't wait to see what Kate Perry has in store for her!
Let’s Misbehave by Kate Perry (Book #3: Summerhill Series) Source: Author Rating: 5/5 stars
What do you do when your tool bag (oh yes, the whole bag!) of a boyfriend sells a highly suggestive video of the two you engaged in some naughty business? Well, if you’re Imogen Summerhill, acclaimed and bombshellish actress, you run home to England and hide out with the family until all the press dies down.
For Imogen, the shock of the video isn’t so much about the video but about the betrayal of a man she trusted. Nursing a broken heart and determined to ride out the storm, Imogen (affectionately known as Gigi) returns to the Sumemrhill home and the safety of her family. The added bonus to the extended stay is the opportunity to better know her sisters and with their help, the heartbreak slowly begins to fade and Imogen once again starts to focus on her career. Here’s the rub: Imogen wants to be taken seriously as an actress and respected for her talent and not her “assets” but her studio wants to play up the drama and see Imogen cast as the naughty bombshell the world believes her to be. In order to salvage her career in an acceptable manner, maintain her dignity and, with any luck win an Oscar down the road, Imogen has to keep her nose clean and stay out of trouble. Yeah, right!
Merrick (aka Ricky Hazard) lives a very public life of service and his one and only goal is to pass legislation that will prevent senseless killings like the one that took his sister years and years ago. The only remnant of his former life is his best friend Valerie, a woman who loves him dearly (but ONLY as a friend) and wants to see him successful and happy. Unfortunately, Merrick is certain those two things can no longer coexist for him and as a result lives his life rather like a monk denying himself many simple pleasures. Luckily for Merrick, Valerie is all kinds of up in his business and the minute she sees Merrick uncharacteristically turn his eye toward a woman she is all over getting the two connected. Too bad that woman is Imogen Summerhill, the one woman in the world who wants to stay out of the press and avoid scandal even more than Merrick does.
As fate (and Kate Perry!) would have it, Imogen and Merrick do meet and within moments each is intrigued and attracted to the other. The attraction is ridiculously strong and prompts Imogen to ask her trusted assistant to track down Merrick’s contact information. A flirty text or two later and the two are meeting clandestinely Per Imogen’s request and with Merrick’s absolute agreement, the meetings are to remain clandestine as neither can afford the “bad” press. For a time the arrangement works well for both but inevitably, the feelings grow and the couple has to decide what their future is or can be. Before that conversation can happen though, Imogen is inexplicably outed to the press, Merrick’s legislation is threatened and, the tool bag makes an unwanted and unexpected appearance and all but begs Imogen to come back. As required, the Summerhill sisters rally around their own, help Imogen through yet another betrayal and more than a little anger and, Bea (yet again!) offers to have someone killed. WOW!! I love those sisters
The Bottom Line: Kate Perry is on a roll and I am loving this series more and more with every single addition!! Plainly put, this is top-notch writing with fantastic characters who are constantly evolving, excellent dialogue and, plots that are remaining fresh and true to the characters. Furthermore, old favorites make appearances, the new characters add significantly to the read, Bea offers to have someone killed and, everything just fits together. In all honesty, the ride each sister takes me on is so damn entertaining that I don’t care that I know how it is all going to turn out in the end. Additionally, I am quite thankful that Jacqueline Summerhill was exceptionally fertile – that just means more sisters and more books for me to fall in love with!! And quite frankly, I am OK with that :)
We begin with a touch of scandal that Gigi or Imogen, this confused me in the beginning, is having a difficult time dealing with. I mean, she has a sexy tape out for all of the world to see. No longer is she this classic actress that everyone finds amazing but a women with moans, ass, and tits that all men want and women what to be like. Gigi does not want this kind of attention, Oscar, Hell Yes. Kardashian drama, Hell No!
To change her self image in the 24 hours it has gone crazy, she attends a charity, to be seen as the good girl. I mean if they see you as a slut then use the paparazzi to make you the librarian. Once there she see’s the Bad Boy of Politics (Merrick Graham), hottie McHotterson.
Merrick is a politician who is trying to redefine his self image and not be known as the Bad Boy of Politics. This title was given because of his past life. No he is not a vamp or a zombie but he was once a musician. Due to a tragedy in his life he made some significant changes and does not want to be viewed as his past self.
So boy meets girl as charity event. Both boy and girl do not want to tarnish their image and want to better their careers. But the attraction, pure lust, is unmanageable.
“Purity and sin in one package, her dress flaunted miles of flawless skin, the sort women paid a fortune to achieve. Her blonde hair trailed in luxurious waves over her shoulders and down her back. She was tall yet she still wore towering heels. Discreet diamonds glittered on her ears and wrist.”
Merrick is all about some Gigi, but she sees the bad boy that is inside of him, trying to stay hidden.
"You're a wolf in sheep's clothing, aren't you?"-Imogen
But she wants him.
“Merrick looked delicious in his suit. Gigi guessed that the only way he'd look better was naked.”
So they decided to take a chance with this lust feast.
He gave the area a quick scan to ensure their privacy before he placed his mouth by her ear and said, "Slide forward and undo your pants."
"Interesting way to change topic, Merrick." But she did as he said.
The moment she unzipped her pants, he slipped his hand down her abdomen and into her silky wetness. He eased a finger between her folds, softly exploring, teasing breathy gasps from her.
She arched into his touch. "This isn't discreet."
"You're not stopping me." "I want this too badly. It's a conundrum."
This book is not only about Gigi and Merrick and I like that. I also enjoyed that the story flowed and was well developed. All the supporting characters built the storyline and helped the characters to be consistent throughout the story. It was actually very funny at certain points of the book. At parts it reminded me of Wallbanger.
But to get to want you all really want to know, the sex. It was smokin'. I will give it a 4/5 for steam. I can honestly say that I was wiggling in my sit while reading some scenes. I also liked that this story is more about physical attraction and not, Instant Love.
I only had one flaw about this book; it took too many pages for me to understand that Gigi was Imogen. Even in the synopsis on Goodreads it provides two names for this one character. I was beginning to thing this was about a girl with a sex tape, who likes a politician, has sex and also has Multiple Personalities/Dissociable Disorder.
I liked the book and think it is a great read. I am looking forward to book 4, possible about the withdrawn, photographer of a sister Tatiana. I think it is about time we learned more about her moody side and the men she needs in her bed.
Let’s misbehave is the latest book in the Summerhill series by the lovely Kate Perry. It can be read as a standalone, but why would you want to do that? You really should read the other books in the series to experience and get the background knowledge of the Summerhill family.
After racy videos and photo’s were leaked by her ex boyfriend to the press, all Imogen (Gigi) Summerhill wants do is clean up her image especially if she is going to be taken seriously as an actress. That means staying out of the public eye, and off the front pages of the tabloids.
Merrick Graham the Bad Boy of Politics is also looking to clean up his images, as he wants to gain the support of the conservatives in order to get a proposal that is very dear to his heart pass through parliament. When Gigi and Merrick meet they soon realize that this maybe not so easy. Both are not looking for scandal, but as hard as tying to stay away from each other they can’t, and a no strings secret affair becomes so much more and hard to hide.
I really enjoyed the storyline; it was an entertaining romantic read. Imogen was strong, feisty and independent, and she knows what she wants. Merrick was sweet due to his past was a little closed off at times, and had a hard time letting people in, but once he let his guard down some of his alpha male caveman qualities came shining through. Oh! And he owned a motorbike ;)
I like Imogen and Merrick, as soon as these two meet you could feel the chemistry between them. Sparks were definitely flying every time they met both in, and out of the bedroom. They both could be headstrong at times, but they were good together, had great banter, and just what they needed.
I loved the interaction with the other Summerhill sisters; they are such a great support group for each other they made me laugh so many times. . I'm looking forward to reading Tatiana’s story next. Just like all the books there is a secondary story running alongside the main one, and was a cute tale about single mum Holly who was Imogen new handler. I hope to see more of her in future books
Overall Let’s misbehave was another book by Kate that I read with a grin on my face. It's no secret that I love Kate’s writing style, I just know what I’m going to get, and I’m never left disappointed. In fact, this quote from Imogen about why she feels that acting is her calling “ I give people a two hour respite from their problems. I help them laugh or cry and they leave my movies feeling. It’s a powerful thing” I just had to highlight, as it’s what Kate does for me when reading one of her books. If you are looking for an enjoyable, steamy, romantic, easy read, then this book is just for you.
“His voice liked dusk, and hot baths, and chocolate, all rolled into one. Her favorite things”
“He saw the woman in white. He stopped the sight of her, knocking the breath out of him”
“He made it clear she wasn’t what he needed. He wasn’t what she needed either, even if she wanted him”
“He didn’t know what he was. All he know was that what he was feeling was driving him crazy”
“Merrick was special. More that that he made her feel special. He understood her and her ambitions, and he supported her”
Wow. Just WOW! 4 amazingly beautiful stars!!!!!!!!
This book surprised me. At first I was optimistic since I have never read any of Kate’s book but MAN I’m going to add ALL of her books to my must read list now!
My Review Imogen “Gigi” Summerhill is one of the six Summerhill sisters. She is a very successful A list actress but also with an A list sex scandal. Thanks to her ex Dirk (the Dick as I call him). With the one video he has successfully brought Imogen’s career to a screeching halt.
She desperately wants to put this behind her and seeks out the roll Ophelia in Director Russell Sherman’s upcoming adaptation of Hamlet. One problem though. He thinks she is “high risk” and wants her to clean up her image before he will even consider casting her for the part.
Enter ex rocker…Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome, Merrick “Ricky” Graham. He is the oh-so-hot bad boy politician that is pushing to get his safety bill passed after his sister was brutally murdered. He is also trying to clean up his image and knows that Gigi is the opposite of what he needs.
That’s the trouble with attraction. It does not let you decide. It makes the decision for you. They were each other’s drug that they could not get enough of. SOOOOO they sneak and hide their intimate moments from the paparazzi. They manage to keep their love affair a secret but a mole is trying to jeopardize their relationship and their careers.
Things get heated when the press starts leaking their relationship. I was on pins and needles while reading this. LOVED the chemistry these too possessed. Gigi is the ying to Merrick’s yang so to speak lol.
The ending I probably could have done without so much dramatics but hey it’s a romance novel and I was in tears when it was all over.
SO PLEASE PLEASE. If you a sucker for a HEA you have to read this!
Imogen's good girl persona has gone up in flames with her (now ex) boyfriend releasing racy pictures and video of her all over the internet. Now trying to get back into the acting game with a role built for her but only if she stays out of the headlines. Shouldn't be hard right? That is what she thinks until she meets a politician she can't say no to.
Merrick has a proposal that just HAS to go through the House of Lords, but in order for the "bad boy of politics" to get ahead is if he stays on the straight and narrow. Doing that is easy until the sudectress in white bullies her way past his defences.
They both have something to lose if the press catches wind for their relationship, but when a no strings affair becomes so much more how long will it be before the public finds out?
Imogen is head strong and fierce, knowing what she wants she does whatever it takes to get it not letting anyone get in her way. She has a great support system of sisters always there for her and they all have their specialities to helping each other out. I loved their interactions and how they care for their family. Merrick has a past that makes it hard for him to open up or let loose even allowing himself the things that make him happy. He has a mission and he won't stop until it's fulfilled and it's great to see him focused on his goals, even if it did make him a bit pig headed at times. ;) He's sweet and he's a caveman knowing what he wants but scarred to go after her until it's almost too late. The two together balance each other out and I loved how she would call him out on his BS. Definitley some of my favorite parts throughout. Watching their story unfold you feel a part of their world and just want them to find their happiness. Great read can be read as a standalone or as part of the series.
Gigi and Merrick have good chemistry and it was a fairly engaging read. Sure, there were some silly things like Gigi apparently speaks (or at least reads) nine languages. Just happened to pick them up... Also, it was kind of gross that people close to Gigi watched her sex tape knowing that it wasn't released with consent. Even if it was supposedly more suggestive than graphic. Some of the writing feels outdated or not exactly politically correct. Like use of the word 'aborigines' instead of Aboriginal people.
Let's Misbehave is a fun and refreshing love story about two lovers that are doing their best to keep out of the media spotlight. I adored this story and fell in love with Merrick and Imogen. Katy writes some very spicy rendezvous between these two that will have your knickers in a twist for sure.
Imogen Summerhill is beautiful and extremely intelligent. She can speak nine languages and graduated at the top of her class but none of that matters now because all the media cares about are the dirty pictures and sex tape released to the world by her ex boyfriend Dirk.
Merrick Graham is trying to shed his bad boy image as rock star Ricky Hazard to be taken seriously as a politician. The last thing he needs is the media frenzy that is following around Imogen. She would bring him right back to Ricky after he has worked so hard to become Merrick the upstanding seriously boring member of Parliament.
When these two cross at a charity ball there is no denying the attraction.
"The caption says Merrick Graham, bad boy politician." Imogen glared at the photo. "This conversation was perfectly innocent. I didn't even know his name. The photo just makes it look like their were sparks."
Katy does a great job developing two very fun characters in this story. They compliment each other quite well. He helps to keep Imogen's bad girl tendencies at bay while she draws out his inner tiger.
Let's Misbehave is the perfect book to start the spring season fresh and new. If you like sweet romance with a little spice you will love this read.
Let's Misbehave by Kate Perry is the third book in her Summerhill series. While it can be read as a standalone, as with most books like this, it is better to read the series in order so you have a growing knowledge of the surrounding characters.
Imogen (AKA Gigi), is a famous actress that is suffering the attentions of the paparazzi following a maliciously leaked video (and photos) of her and her ex-boyfriend, leaked by that same skeezy ex. This is not the attention she wants, she wants to be acknowledged for her acting prowess not her intimate life made public.
Merrick Graham is trying to make a reputable name for himself in politics and garnish the support of the conservatives, despite his bad-boy rocker image from his past.
When these two meet you can almost feel the sizzle coming off the page but for both of them, the publicity is unwanted. They decide to keep their tests secret, but, well, you know that doesn't always work out as planned.
Another sweet and steamy romance from this great author. I look forward to reading about the next sister...
Lets Misbehave by Kate Perry is a contemporary romance easy read book. Like all Kate Perry’s book this one was sweet with a little steam thrown into the mix.I am Personally glad that I have read the other two books in this series however Lets Misbehave can be read as a standalone or as part of the SummerHill Series.
In this story Imogen (Gigi) is trying to save that good girl Persona that she portrays to the public when pictures and videos of her appear on the internet. Imogen needs to keep her imagine clean and remain off the front pages of paper in order for her to be taken seriously as an actress and keep her studio happy.
Merrick is your typical Bad Boy. A politician who is in need of changing his reputation in order to gain the support of the conservatives.
When Gigi and Merrick meet you can almost hear the crackle coming off the pages. There is immediate and undeniable chemistry. Problem is how can these two act on it when they are both trying so hard to stay out of the public eyes and clean up their images? Simple, they decide to embark on a no strings attached secret affair. Problem with those is they are almost never SECRET.
I really enjoyed this story. I love how Kate writes about independent, strong women who use take their struggles and turn into strength and determination. I am looking to more books in the future by Kate Perry.
If you have been reading the Summerhill series by Kate Perry, you are going to love this one. If you have not started reading this series, what are you waiting for?
Although you can read this as a standalone novel, you will get a lot more enjoyment out of this series if you read them in order.
This series deals with the love lives of the Summerhill sisters. They are a lively bunch, trying the best they can to live a full life after the death of their father. Father was always pretty controlling, but surprise surprise, father had secrets of his own. When he passed away, discoveries were made and it affected everyone.
This time around we are involved with Imogen, Gigi to those who love her. She is a famous actress fighting the paparazzi as a video is released of her and her very EX boyfriend in compromising positions, ahem. She has now fallen for a politician ( very sexy ex rocker now politician) and so we are taken for a joy ride of this love affair incognito.
I found this novel absolutely delightful. I love these sisters! They are their own support group. They will protect each other and the world better beware!
So this one's about Imogen who's trying to improve her image after a sex tape is released by her ex-boyfriend; she meets Merrick a former rock star turned politician who's trying to keep his nose clean to get a bill passed. Despite trying to improve her image, the movie studio sends in a handler, Holly, who is supposed to report back salacious gossip about Gigi to keep her in the tabloids.
Holly's relationship with her kid's headmaster is the other story here, which is SO weak that it's barely worth mentioning. Hence, only 3 stars.
We learn a little more about Titania in this one. Luca is still pining for Bea and considers himself part of the family, which is endearing and creepy all at the same time.
There are loose ends here: does Merrick's bill ever get passed? what's next for him now that he's found music again? will Gigi's work on the Cole Porter film earn her an oscar?
With each book, I fall more in love with the Summerhill family. This book focuses on Gigi, who is reeling from her public sex scandal. She has all but given up on love, until she meets Merrick. Merrick is a politician who is avoiding making peace with his past and moving towards his future. Gigi is a great character. She is a lot of fun, but has a lot more depth than your average Hollywood starlet. I loved watching her love for her sister's grow and seeing how hard she is trying to pull her youngest sister back into the family. Merrick and his tiger kept me smiling and he was a perfect pairing for Gigi. The secondary love story was between Holly, Gigi's "handler" and her son's teacher. Their's was a very sweet love story and if he did not have everything a woman wants in a man -- swoon. As always, Kate Perry delivers a sweet, charming romance that warms my heart and makes me smile.
We meet Imogen (Gigi) Summerhill, who is trying to keep her image clean, after her ex-boyfriend leaks scandalising images of her. By chance, she meets Merrick Graham, known as the Bad Boy of Politics. Like Gigi, the last thing Merrick wants is to be tainted by scandal, as he needs the support from the conservatives to push forward a bill he is putting forward.
Holly, who is hired to help Gigi, is secretly working behind the scenes to leak scandalising news on Gigi. As a single mother, she struggles to look after her 'misbehaving' son. The head teacher, Peter, helps out and they both find themselves attracted to one another, with Holly ignoring the growing feelings in order to look after her son.
I found this a very interesting read. This can be read as stand alone read, as I haven't read book 2.
Another great continuation of the Summerhill Series. It was well written and easy to read. There was a bit of a lull in the middle but this was quickly overcome when the characters figured out where they belonged. I can't help thinking that we saw to much of Imogen's story in book 2, hence the lull in the middle. It was nice that Titania was finally built in and looking forward to finding out about Cole, whoever he is, in book 4! Bea remains an enigma, what does she do? What's happening with her and Luca? Although as Luca played a low key role in this book, it wasn't such a question. Looking forward to 23/06/14 to the release of book 4. Thank you Kate, your stories continue to capture the imagination and never fail to keep us guessing
This is the story of Gigi, the actress and Merrick, a politian. Both have their reasons for trying to 'change' their images. Gigi wants to be taken as a serious actress and Merrick wants to show he isn't the 'bad boy politician, both labels are far from the truth. Both characters have many layers to them. The sexual chemistry between the two of them is off the charts. Will they let what people think dictate their actions or will they finally be true to themselves? I enjoyed the interactions between Gigi and her sisters as well. The side story of Holly, Gigi's 'handler' was cute but I wished that it was more developed. I wanted to see more of her and Peter. Overall, I like this series but the Laurel Heights series is still my favorite.
OK let me start out by saying that I have not read any other books by this author. I read the synopsis for this book and was immediately interested. I guess I looked over the whole book 3 thing but oh well. The book can be read as a standalone. I am sure I would have enjoyed the book a whole lot more having known some of the other characters from the other books. It was great either way.

Let's Misbehave is a hot romance with a strong female protagonist and a distinct character arc. Her love interest, Merrick, has a strong arc, as well, leading to my 4-star rating. Overall, the plot was intriguing and kept me coming back for more. The sex was a bit gratuitous for me, but I read more chick lit than romance, so that's just a matter of personal preference. The multi-POV was distracting and I wish it had simple focused on one character. Every time I would get into Gigi/Merrick/Holly's story, the POV switched and I grew frustrated. Other than that, I found the writing to be easy, allowing for the reader to focus on the characters and the story, not the writing itself. Let's Misbehave is a solid read for a night alone and a glass of wine.
I loved this book! It is everything a solid romance novel should be but more. You have your classic story of boy meets girl and its obvious they should be together but life keeps getting in the way. But the author adds a strong spicy heroine that makes the book all the more enjoyable. You have no virginal weak willed flower here. No, you have a grown woman who knows what she wants out of life. Her love interest is layered and sexy. I enjoyed the book, would recommend it to a friend and would read it again. Two thumbs up.
I adore the Summerhill series by Kate Perry!!! Love how Merrick and Imogen couldn't stay away for each other. The fierce love and support the Summerhill sisters have for each other and their loved ones is so uplifting and inspiring. It makes me long to belong to the sisterhood. The Red a witch is to this series what Grounds for Thoughts is to the Laurel Heights series. With an awesome bartender to boot.
A heartfelt story which I truly loved. For some reason, though, I did not take to Merrick at all. I liked his character—his personality: a caged tiger, repressed musician, impassioned politician—but I didn't like…him. I liked that he had a temper, that he was a delightful lover (the sex scenes are wonderful), but I didn't like…him. Couldn't understand my own disinterest in the hero, of all people, so reading this was intellectually satisfying but emotionally confusing.
