In this sequel to "Love Across Time: Jessie Meets the Bard", English Professor Jessie Burns travels back through time with her friend, MIT Professor Kyle Olsen in the time machine that he has invented. They return to the summer of 1816, the year with no summer, and end up as guests of Lord Byron at the Villa Diodati in Geneva, Switzerland. They are joined by Percy and Mary Shelley and become participants in one of the most exciting events in literary history. Due to the constant inclement weather, Byron has decided to hold a contest to write the scariest story. Nineteen year-old Mary Shelley writes "Frankenstein" while Lord Byron starts writing the first vampire novel. Jessie starts writing a novel about time travel while Kyle pens a book entitled "Carrie" about a teenage girl who is bullied by her classmates and gets revenge using her telekinetic powers. Jessie is drawn into romantic relationships with the charismatic Byron and the radical poet Shelley. Eventually Jessie and Kyle discover that something has gone wrong with the time travel experiment and they can't return to the future. How will they ever get home again?
