Savanna Royce is a weekend Goth-girl who’s always been fascinated with vampires. She doesn’t really believe in them, of course, but that changes when she’s bitten by a rogue vamp and left for dead. Fortunately, two-hundred-and-seventy-eight-year-old vampire Kaige Travers is there to rescue her. Unwilling to let her die, he turns Savanna into a vampire to save her life—not knowing if she’ll thank him or hate him for it.
While Kaige is teaching Savanna what she needs to know about being a vampire, neither of them can deny the chemistry that’s there. Somewhere between getting her registered at the local vampire admin office and teaching her how to order blood on the internet, they fall for each other—fast and hard.
Just as things are heating up between the sheets—and everywhere else—they encounter one minor problem. The rogue vampire who attacked her is back and this time he wants to finish the job he started.
Paige Tyler is a New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author of sexy, romantic suspense and paranormal romance. She and her very own military hero (also known as her husband) live on the beautiful Florida coast with their adorable fur baby (also known as their dog). Paige graduated with a degree in education, but decided to pursue her passion and write books about hunky alpha males and the kick-butt heroines who fall in love with them.
Savannah obsesses about Vampires and this obsession runs very deep! She literally goes to Goth Clubs hoping to find her very own Tall, Dark and Handsome, with a side order of brooding Vamp but what she gets is a whole lot more than what she'd bargained for!
Kaige was happy in his long, if somewhat boring, existence. He didn't want or need any complications but that's exactly what he gets, when he can't turn his back on a so-called 'Damsel In Distress'!
When Savannah & Kaige's paths cross, will they be able to handle what lies ahead and survive?
Love this book and hope there is more in store for the Modern Day Vampires!
Savanna has always wanted a vampire lover like on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She has been going to goth clubs for years, but has not adopted the total goth look. While at a club, she sees exactly what she wants, even though there is no such thing as vampires. The guy she was watching, motions her over and brings her outside the door and down a dark alley at the back of the club. He attacks her, ripping out her throat savagely. The vamp doesn't realize that another vamp, Kaige, was in the club celebrating his birthday. He attacks the other vamp, throwing him down the alley. The other vamp tries charging again, and then gives up and takes off. Kaige has never seen such a savage wound and is watching the life drain from Savanna, meaning she was attacked by a rogue. He decides to turn her, not wanting to watch an innocent woman die. He feeds her some of his blood, and then takes her to his loft and calls Jansen, his sire, for help. He has never turned someone. Jansen tells him he is now responsible for her and training her if she survives the turn. He has to give her some of his blood every so many hours, in addition to the saline IV. He explains that she is a vampire, and Savanna takes off. All he can do is wait for her to return because of hunger. He doesn't even know her name yet, he should have looked in her purse. when she returns he explains everything he can to her. They are a perfect match for each other, something Kaige has never even thought of. They are living together while she learns about being a vampire, and 3 rogue vamps break in and try to kill Kaige and take Savanna. The rogue who attacked her in the alley tells her she has been claimed and tries to drag her out the door. Kaige manages to save her, but they have to call in the clean up team for the one rogue that was killed. Yet another lesson for Savanna, they do not turn to ash when they die. They are sent to stay at the vineyard owned by the council. While they are there, multiple attacks have happened all over the city, so the whole council and their swat team arrive at the vineyard. The rogues attack, will the council, Savanna, and Kaige survive an ancient rogue who is not in the system?
I loved this tale of a newly turned vampire named Savanna. Kaige is her knight in fangs. He saves her after an attack and the rules say he must teach her how to be a vampire. What neither counted on was their chemistry.
This book was a quirky take on the mythical ideas of vampires. The description of vampirism being a “genetic condition with the number one symptom being acute anemia” is an interesting take on this type of story.
The first I have read of this author, and I have to say it won't be the last. With some danger, steam and humour this is a enjoyable read. Looking forward to more.
Vampire 101 is Paige Tyler's first book in her Modern Day Vampires series. In Vampire 101, Savanna Royce is a fan of fictional vampires and spends her weekends at goth clubs. Unfortunately she meets a "real" vampire who chomps on her neck and leaves her for dead. Good vampire Kaige Travers comes to her rescue and changes her to a vampire. Since he is her sire he has to show her the ropes. I loved the conversations between Savanna and Kaige when he was explaining all the details of being a vamp. It was very funny, especially for anyone who is a fan of vampire movies.
As Kaige and Savanna get to know each other better, rogue vampires are on the hunt and cause a bit of suspense and mystery. I really enjoyed this story. It reminded me a lot of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode (in general, not specific)...which I absolutely loved. Highly recommend!
you never know what your going to get with a vampire book!! I dont read a ton of them for this very reason because I am so not into mean and terrible ones! but this one! Oh this one was light sexy romantic fun! vampire 101 just as the name suggests! starts with an older vamp teaching a new vamp and they fall in love in the process! :-) It was sexy and witty and some very fun vamp stuff! there is a bad guy too but... I knew the good guy would get him! ;) I loved all the modern references to the tv and books about vampires (even if I dont watch tv and didnt really know! :-) ) kaige and savanna are awesome together and im going to patiently wait to see if jensen gets his own prequel book! gotta know how the teacher became the teacher! ;-) thanks paige for the awesome read!
I loved this book. Savanna has always loved vampires. When she goes to a Goth club, she finds a tall, dark, and brooding guy. When she leaves with him he bites her neck and almost rips her neck off. Kaige finds her and to save her, turns her into a vampire. As she gets accustomed to being a vampire, she learns not everything on t.v. was true. But when the rogue vamp comes after Savanna, Kaige must keep or safe or lose the woman he has finally fallen in love with. If you love vampires, passion, and funny stories, I think you'll enjoy this I sure did.
Paige Tyler rewrites vampire history and dispels myths as presented in movies, books and TV. After turning Savanna to save her life, Kaige has to teach her how do be a vampire, so her gives her history lessons that require oral exams, the sensual use of fangs and how to avoid rouge vampires. This has a wonderful story line with vivid descriptions and plenty of family entertainment, mayhem, murders, sex, violence, sex, oh I'm starting to repeat myself.
Limit to family members over 18. If I could give this more stars, I would. I was given an ARC for an honest review.
I LOVED Modern Day Vampires: Vampire 101 by Paige Tyler.
It was so refreshing to read a vampire love story where the H and h weren't in constant conflict. The conflict in the story was outside of their relationship and I loved how they banded together to handle it.
The love scenes were smoking hot and I wouldn't except anything else from Ms. Tyler.
I look forward to next book, to see what adventure this modern day vampire duo will have.
Savannah is a goth girl who is fascinated with Vampires. When she attacked by a vampire and left in alley..Kaige saves and helps her.She doesn't believe him at first,,but later teaches vampire 101 from him.N they both might have fallen for each other. When everything seems great,,attacks keep happening and the attacker comes back.,,to take savannah.
"Modern Day Vampires: Vampire 101 was a well-written, smokin', and enjoyable paranormal romance. Paige Tyler creates believable characters and an intriguing world, which I hope she'll revisit in future books."
I came upon this book and author whilst browsing and I'm so pleased I did.......Wow this book was awesome. Loved the storyline and loved the characters. As far as vampire stories goes this one was practically perfect. I definitely recommend it!
A light, sexy fun contemporary vampire romance I couldn't put down. Hot vampire with a whitty gal tossed with sexual tension and a dash of comedy. A refreshing spin on vamps! Loved it!!!!!!!
I'm sorry but a twenty eight year old woman who is obsessed with finding a guy that's like her favorite TV vamp is just a little too immature for me. Dnf
