An Overstayer

Rate this book
When Mark Weller moves into Fell Cottage he believes he’s found the perfect place to write his next novel. But he hasn’t. Plagued by indolence, and haunted by the suspicion that the book will be worthless, he neglects his wife, develops a drug habit and falls prey to distractions. Almost anything would suffice to draw him away from his work, but the most powerful distraction of all comes in the form of Keziah. She’s the best friend he ever had, the soulmate, the undemanding companion of his many solitary hours. Of course, he can’t let his wife know about her. She wouldn’t understand, she’d be jealous, and if Mark told her the truth, she’d assume he was losing his mind.Because Keziah isn’t alive. Not dead; that’s an offensive word. Just not alive. An Overstayer.

An unusual book, started slowly but picks up and keeps you wanting to work out the twist. Looking forward to the sequel
