A note from the author:
Thanks for visiting my Goodreads page.
I wanted to tell something meaningful about myself, but let's start with the important stuff--I love swoon-worthy heroes. The kind of heroes that are strong and would take a bullet for you, but also want to open your door and listen to you pour out your heart.
What else? I grew up moving. If you’ve read my books, you won’t be surprised by this. I have a lot of moving themes through my books centered around characters experiencing pain from someone moving.
It was hard. But, I believe there’s always a seed of good that comes out of everything hard, so I think the best thing that came from it was that I learned to love books.
And I had to learn a lot of mad skills on friend making. It gave me a love of people…good people, compassionate people. Interesting people of all kinds.
What else about me? I am a mother and wife! I have four amazing boys that are like little ninjas running around. I love them so much and I’m so grateful for my amazing husband who doesn’t get intimidated by all the billionaire men in my life.
I have a fierce love of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for Him and for the healing and forgiveness I’ve gotten to experience in my life. This is a theme in many of my books.
I love being an American. I am so proud of the men and women that support and preserve our freedom. This is another theme you will find in my books.
I am so grateful for my fans and for the support and love you all show me! Don’t stop reading!
What a great read! I was drawn in at once and just didn’t want to put it down. Isla is running away from an abusive ex-husband and returning to the small town she grew up and had to testify against her father in. Her hope is that just maybe her ex won’t find her there. What she didn’t expect was her past best friend and secret crush, Damon, was now the Chief of Police. As she attempts to settle in, the town welcomes her back even providing her a job as emergency dispatcher. But it isn’t long until old feelings emerge both good, between her and Damon, and fear that her abusive ex will find her and what he will do then. A book you won’t want to put down. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.
Another good addition to the Refuge Falls series by Taylor Hart. Heartwarming second Chance story. Isla is back in Refuge Falls trying to get away from her ex-husband who has been threatening her. He’d told her he would kill her if she divorced him. Damon is the police chief and Isla’s first love. What a shock when she walked through his door applying for the dispatcher job! She gets the dispatcher job and then finds out her abusive father is up for parole. The fun just keeps coming! They have unfinished business and the old attractions haven’t gone away. *I received this as an ARC reader and am leaving my unbiased review.
Clean and suspense!! What is not to love? Taylor Hart weaves another story of suspense and love with Damon and Isla. Who does not loved second chance love? This is a great book with fleshed out characters, if you read the previous book, you"ll love this one, if you did not, well you will still love this one and will not be lost at all. That is the joy of Taylor's books, you can pick any of them up and read them, but you WILL want to go back and read the others, cuz they are THAT GOOD!! You can read the blurb, and you know the premise of the book, just know it is worth your time for a little escape, and no smut!!
I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. To try to escape her abusive ex-husband, Isla Hamilton returns to her home town and gets a job as a police dispatcher, but the Police Chief is none other than her former best friend, Damon Armstrong. As they become reacquainted, he tells her he wanted to marry her before she left town. He and his family are protective of her and when unusual things begin to happen, they are there to help. Very interesting book about abusive relationships and their consequences, plus moving on and making the right decisions.
This is an absolutely wonderful faith based romantic suspense story. Damon and Isla had been best friends since grammar school. Isla was from an abusive situation in her childhood home. Disappointment and heartbreaks had them marrying others. Now they are both divorced. Isla is a broken woman trying to be strong in the face of hardship. Needing a job and running from her abusive ex she heads to Refuge Falls. Damon needs a dispatcher and Isla needs a job. Can Damon protect her from the ex? Highly recommend this book.
Refuge Falls was her refuge along with the strong cop.
Perfect second chance. Yes he had hurt her once and hadn’t been there for her when they were young, but he had regretted it ever since. When she needed refuge from her crazy ex she went home to Refuge Falls, it was her sanctuary even with all its bad memories. This is a beautiful love story with strong faith elements, and a crazy ex thrown into it all. Clean and suspenseful. I can’t wait to get the rest of the Armstrong stories.
Damon and Isla seemed to be enemies at first and I was beginning to wonder what went so wrong in their lives to make them this antagonist towards each other. You will have to read it to find out what caused the rift. I love family oriented stories and this one was exactly that. There is only one problem that I found at the end of the story and that was I have to wait 11 months to read book 3 and that does not make me happy! Read this series and you will enjoy it.
This is such a great read! Once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down, staying up way too late to finish. Damon and Isla were childhood best friends but were separated and had difficult relationships before they were brought back together. I loved Damon and Isla’s spiritual growth as a couple. This story has a little of everything that makes it so great, some suspense, sweet romance, loving family, just sweet and swoony. A book you don’t want to miss!
Domestic violence trigger warning. I couldn’t put this one down. A wonderful story that explores how domestic violence affects a person long after. Isla returns to Refuge Falls, but continues to wonder why until she reconnects with Damon. I love the entire Armstrong family and how they thoroughly support each other. Loved it. I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my voluntary, honest review.
Communication, people!!! Not talking but communicating! But I guess if characters communicated then authors wouldn’t have anything to write. As I expect from Taylor Hart, she jumps right in with a tough subject, abuse. That is something that Isla is too well acquainted with. Damon wants to fix everything, but some things you just need to stand by and be supportive. I would say this is one of my favorite books by this author, but I tend to think that with each new book.
Wrecked By You was such a great book! It sucked me in from the beginning and didn't let go 'til the last page. Isla is running from her abusive ex, and Damon is more than ready to let his first love back into his heart. I cried so much while reading this book, it's crazy. Taylor Heart really delves in deep to all the emotions. Thanks for another amazing book that has all the sizzle without explicit content or swearing.
I love this sweet second chance romance. The Armstrong family are wonderful characters. Isla returns to Refuge Falls, running away from her violent ex-husband. Damon Armstrong and Isla were best friends during their childhood and youth but tragic circumstances separated them. I love the spiritual growth the couple make as well as the perfect blend of romance and suspense.
Wow, what a book. It has lots of suspense, relatable characters, and faith and fortitude that’s inspiring. Sometimes if you are headed the wrong direction, you have to get wrecked to turn around and head the right direction. And that would be the theme of this book. Getting wrecked can also set you free. No spoilers, just an encouragement that you should read this amazing book.
Wrecked By You is a Christian, gripping, second chance romance with some intrigue! I love watching Damon and Isla regain their friendship and watching it grow to more. Damon’s entire family unites to keep Isla safe from her unstable ex-husband. I especially like what Damon’s dad did to keep her safe. This is another wonderful, emotional book from Ms. Hart. I loved every minute of it.
This book is super good is clean, easy to read, have wonderful characters, second chance romance the suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat what more can I say except that I do recommend this book wholeheartedly to anyone and that nobody will be disappointed. I love it. I received a copy from the author and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Wow, Isla has been through the wringer. A terrible upbringing and then a terrible marriage. Trying to escape from her ex husband, she goes back to her home town. She is reunited with her best friend Damon. Can he help her get over her past? This is a great story.
This second chance romance storyline was an enjoyable fast read with no real surprises… Taylor Hart is a very talented author who has the ability to simply put the reader at ease and let the story flow like sitting on a beach and enjoying the surf. It’s just comforting. RECOMMENDED
I wanted to like it, but everything was so rushed. The romance, the threats, the reconciliation with her mom all of it was rushed. She comes back into town and almost immediately gets back together with MMC. Her ex was a threat but you hear nothing from him until he’s hiding under her bed. Just too much in too little time.

We don’t forgive others for them but for ourselves. I have to work on it everyday and it’s not easy but necessary. After all, if Jesus could forgive the people that abused and killed him we can certainly forgive. What I have to forgive for is nothing in comparison.
I really enjoyed Isla and Damon's story. Isla had a rough life with her father abusing her mother and her. When she did something about it, her mother hated her. Her husband wasn't any better. It was a great story about second chances and forgiving and moving on.
Wrecked By You is a second chance single dad trope that pulls you in quickly and has you rooting for Damon and Isla. There is a strong attraction between the two along with lots of forgiveness. I like the small town insight and the love of family woven in the story. It’s a very uplifting read.
I was cheering when these two realized they might be better together. There was tension, attraction, and moments I teared up. The faith and strength of character of Isla and Damon was inspiring. A really good read!!
I enjoyed this story very much. I enjoyed the family dynamics. I liked getting to know Damon and Isla and seeing them work together. I liked the excitement and the suspense. I enjoyed the ending of the story and how things came together and finally worked out.
I made the mistake of starting this book late at night and could not put it down! Literally read all night! Loved every second of this story! The scene right after the parole hearing is my absolute favorite!!
Being a child of parents that would beat you at the drop of a hat? Then you married someone like them. But she pulled her self up got the help she needed and was good. Read this great story to find out the rest of the story which is good. Enjoy.
This story is about a young woman who is abused by her boyfriend and runs away to end back in her old home town with a new job and new friends until her abusive ex finds her and all hell breaks out. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
So sweet! I loved this second chance with Isla and Damon. All of the many characters were great. I really enjoyed the suspense, but most of all the sweet, clean romance.
An enjoyable suspense filled book that will keep you reading till the end. The story covers some hard topics that will make you feel sad but blessed that God is only a prayer away.
I enjoyed this story with a second chance theme, a family that rallied around Isla and Damon, faith, and a little suspense. I received an advance copy. I choose to write this review.
