In this second installment of the Saddlebrook Falls series, Rhett Bennett is forced to white-knuckle new feelings he’s definitely never had before for a girl he shouldn’t care about while simultaneously trying to prove to his brothers he has his shit together.

Spoiler he doesn’t.

Olivia Danvers has shied away from men for most of her life, not bothering after learning from her mother’s experience the results can be . . . painful. Focused on her family business, she’s too busy to worry much about romance, anyway. But when her estranged father (and his “other” family) keep trying to get to know her, she wonders if there’s more to life than the safety of what’s comfortable.

When Rhett offers to mentor Olivia in dating—an idea that’s as ridiculous as it sounds—he has no clue what he’s getting himself into. His attention should be on the family’s rescue ranch and all the chaos waiting for him back home. But Olivia? He can’t seem to stay away from her.

For the kind of love that shatters through the dark. It lives in all of us—we just have to be brave enough to let it shine.

This book contains scenes with discussions of cancer, death, grief, alcoholism, depression, anxiety, sexual content/kinks, gambling and an on-page gun fight and is intended for mature audiences.

I hope you love Rhett and Olivia as much as I do <3

I really enjoyed this book! The romance is sweet and low on angst, which I loved. There’s a touch of suspense towards the end that really kept me engaged. Rhett is a bad boy, and the townspeople don’t have a good opinion of him or his family because of his dad’s past. They often treat him poorly, but it’s clear he and his brothers don’t deserve that kind of judgment. On the other hand, Olivia is a good girl living with her mom, who runs a café. She hasn’t been in a serious relationship before, largely due to her father's actions affecting her mom. After some bad dates, Olivia asks Rhett to help her learn how to date.

I really felt for Rhett and his family throughout the story. The town may have turned their backs on them because of their father's mistakes, but they’re just trying to live their lives. Olivia sees beyond Rhett's tough exterior and feels safe around him, which I found so refreshing. Even though Rhett wants to keep his distance to protect her from his family’s issues, the connection between them is undeniable. She’s the only person outside his family who really gets him.

Watching their relationship grow was so heartwarming! Their dates were sweet and romantic, and I loved how Rhett always prioritizes Olivia’s safety and happiness. Olivia really finds her voice with him, becoming braver and loving him just as he is. There were definitely some emotional moments that tugged at my heartstrings, too. Overall, this is a delightful small-town/cowboy romance with just the right amount of spice and suspense to keep you entertained!

Olivia only dates assholes. A newbie to the dating game, every man she swipes on leaves her annoyed and drier than ever. When Rhett Bennett, Saddlebrooks' resident bad boy, witnesses all of her awful dates, he has an offer– if Olivia loves to date assholes, why not date the biggest one of all? Him. Rhett begins to teach Olivia how dates should go, but when tensions get high, there may be more lessons to learn.

It's not a secret book one, Sunshine, really disappointed me, but Peaches was a pleasant surprise! I'm not sure if it was because I didn't have high expectations, but this sequel was what I wanted the first book to be. I love a sex/ dating coach trope, and this book had it, but that plot line pretty much died immediately because these characters are attracted to one another. At first, I thought the romantic development was coming on too strong, but by the end, I found the pacing of their relationship to be well done! It was fast, but paced evenly for a 299-page book. With the additional storylines going on throughout this series, the actual romance was at the forefront of the story, unlike book one in the Saddlebrook Falls series.

Similarly to the first book, I still struggling with pacing issues outside of their romance. Some scenes felt like it flew by too quickly and were written in bullet points: lacking description and sustenance. This book was a WAAAAY bigger improvement from the first when it came to that element, but it could still use more work.

I do think the ending/ third act of this book came out of nowhere. Book one focused on the couple and their past, but this book brings up a fluid plotline that will be followed throughout the rest of this series until its resolution, and brings up future openings and love stories for the future of these books.

I will definitely continue the series! I enjoyed this one enough to be excited for book three, Sugar. I have VERY goodluck with purple books, so expectations are humbly set.

not sure how so much, but also nothing at all, happened in this story

sunshine, the first book in this series, was not my favorite but i wanted to see what the series would have to offer. this book kinda felt completely different to that book. like if i didn’t know wells and rhett were brothers you wouldn’t see any connections within this book. obviously its mentioned but all the characters feel incredibly separate from each other.

the romance honestly surprised me because it kinda came from no where but it ended up being pretty sweet. i really liked seeing olivia find herself within a relationship but all the other plot points took precedent over that. the ranch storyline and brooks’ story felt bigger than this book. somehow this romance felt like a setup for the fake marriage and potential brooks story.

i probably won’t be continuing with this small town but if you’re looking for a new ku series this is a good option!

What a beautifully written, heart breaking, but glue all the pieces back together, type story. I LOVED it. I devoured it in just one day. I really loved Sunshine, the first book in the series, but Rhett and Olivia are elite to me!

Rhett has that perfect bad boy vibe. But he also has it down BAAAD for Olivia. His character development was top notch. I loved watching him in the beginning as such a closed of man, but learning to trust Olivia and with her help, open up and really share his past and his feelings.

Olivia is the most perfect brutally honest FMC we needed to really help Rhett get his head on straight. This woman truly goes through hell and high water for this man and I was here for it! I loved how she started off seemingly like a shy, kind of sheltered woman but quickly not being afraid to go after what she wanted and be brave on more than one occasion.

Together their chemistry was palpable straight from the page! I loved them individually but also together. Their relationship never felt rush or forced to me and I just really adored watching them both grow together. I loved the mystery/suspense plot as well as Olivia’s side story develop. There was an absolutely heart wrenching sub plot that had me SOBBING. Needless to say, this book brought me through a complete rollercoaster of emotions but I loved every minute of it! I cannot wait to read what’s next!

I would highly recommend to all my book besties who love cowboys, bad boy x good girl and a lot of emotion!

Thank you so much to Michaela Jean Taylor for gifting me the e-ARC of this book!

Ok buckle up, this is going to be a wild ride (pun intended)

📣 SPOILERS ahead !!!!

It's too obvious that it was written for the lover girls lol, Rhett thinks too much like a girl and says all the things we want to hear, which in turns makes it unbelievable.

And somehow Olivia is too naive. Rhett wants her to date a quality man and is supposed to be that for her but then provides the bare ass minimum and she swoons like he's a god (he took her to a real fancy restaurant but didn't make a reservation and it's only out of sheer luck that they get a table anyway). Then they get it on and he has a reputation of being a ladies man and eats her out (which is something apparently no one else has ever done for her) and then he tells her he wants to raw dog her 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💀 and she just lets him, I'm like giiiiirl. He's in about an inch and she thinks she's about to rip in half like girl be for real but then she's like "a tear slips out from the corner of my eye" while he's like "tell me you can take it" --- "can you ?" She comes within seconds and then he flips her over and slides it between her booty cheeks, gets off, then tells her how his heart beats so fast for her. Once she sleeps he contemplates if he went too far (he just tied up her hands over her head lol). Also, their safe word is "stop" 🫠

Then let's move on to the big poker game: I understand that the stakes are high but I found it so unbelievable that Ellis is this mastermind that rigged the whole game and I'll tell you why: we don't really know anything about Ellis/Colt, so there's a lack of complexity for me in that part of the story line. Yes we're being told that they run this underground game club and have been doing so for years but other than that I was missing something to get a better grasp of the situation. So then the cops arrive but somehow this small time criminal Maverick dude unalives them with a flick of his wrist and Rhett is mad at Ellis for putting him in this situation. It's like an action movie but without the believable suspense.

Rhett and Olivia reunite because she saved his ass as she "heard it in his voice" that something was wrong and mobilised his brothers (who apparently are also super badass and have güns to get him out of the barn. Mind you, the lovebirds have been hanging out approx. 4 times at this point but she already knows him better than anyone so they share a passionate kiss and the rest is history.

Overall fun and easy read, but not complex enough for me.

This is a really sweet, well written story that I can't help but feel was given back to the writer with the note of "But we need a TrOpE to market it on tik tok" by an agent or something and she hastily wrote in a fake dating plot.
The story is overall really heart-felt. About a good girl living life cautiously and the town outcast who lives on the edge, always disappointing people before they can even make up their mind about him. And sure that's probably not a punchy trope list you can make a graphic for on social media but the fact is that this book is beautifully written and didn't really NEED a fake dating trope because it was super underutilized in the actual story and development of these characters and their romance.
Olivia and Rhett have a really great, organic meet cute and then a series of subsequent meetings that all feel really natural to the characters. Rhett runs into Olivia when she's trying to put herself out there and going on some truly horrible dates and Rhett is always nearby to save her from these losers. So when he proposes that she fake dates HIM instead of strangers from apps, it feels a little unnecessary, because they're already always running into each other. And then the story doesn't ever really utilize any of the tension that the fake dating trope brings with it. There's no "fake" PDA, no gossip about them dating when they're seen out together. It's just kind of mentioned and then forgotten until random points in the book where Olivia starts to doubt Rhett's affection and she goes "but we ARE only FAKE dating" and I'm like are you? Are you fake dating? You've had this man iN you, are you really fake dating at this point? 😂
ANYWAY this was just a ranty review to say that sometimes books should stand on the merit of really good writing, which this had. Instead of relying on tropes. But I will admit that I picked this book up BECAUSE it was advertised as a fake dating romance so I guess...where does that leave us?
TLDR: Not much fake dating but I highly recommend this story if you want a sweet, well-written "opposites attract" romance.

I absolutely devoured this book! First things first…I’m a sucker for a good “fake dating/teaching” situation and that’s just what you’re getting with Peaches. But, one of the things I like best about Michaela’s writing is the messiness of the characters, the depth of story and the tender line of redemption.

Olivia has lived a quiet life and has purposefully not really sought out relationships with men after the failed relationship of her parents. That is until the loneliness began to set in. As Rhett got to first hand witness her not-so-favorable dates, he offers his help. He quickly realizes he’s gotten himself into something he was completely unprepared for. Rhett the town pariah and Olivia the sweet small town girl, nothing good could come from this. The Bennett family have been through so much and one of the ones hurt the most and who hurt himself the most was Rhett. To have him be seen by Olivia for who he truly is, was so beautiful.
“Being known by her doesn’t feel like a threat. It’s almost a relief, even with the deep unknown of it all. She’s a beacon of light I want to cling to when the demons threaten to pull me in with their claws.”

And, for him to see the wants she’s kept hidden, even from herself, so easily just make them the most unlikely pairing. He is open and tender with her, even when all he’s shown those around him is this angry, troublesome man. When his world is turned upside down, she’s the one to come to his rescue.

“You make me happy,” I tell him, because it’s the truth. “You make me brave, Rhett. Why don’t you try it? Be brave with me.”

Gah! I ate it up! Cannot wait for the next book, Sugar!

Thank you Michaela Jean Taylor or the ARC. All opinions and thoughts in the review are completely my own.

Michaela Jean Taylor did it again! She wtote another moving, steamy, swoony, quite unique, and utterly beautiful small town cowboy romance that got me completely hooked!
I LOVE Rhett and Olivia's story sooo much!
Rhett, the MMC, is not the conventional book boyfriend. He is trouble, reckless, brutally honest, and unapologetically himself.
Olivia, the FMC, it's a "good girl", she is used to follow rules, navigate life in the most careful way, and avoid emotions since she and her family had a fair share of pain in the past.
Once they meet, they start peeling each other's layers off and they start seeing what truly hides behind their facades. Rhett teaches Olivia to be more reckless, to move with blatant spontaneity and disregars of consequences and other people's judgement. Olivia, on the other hand, teaches Rhett to let his guard down, to show his emotions (the good and the bad ones) and to trust other people to be there for him. Their romance is pure perfection. And what about the spice?! I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again: Michaela Jean Taylor has a unique way of conveying the want, the desire, the chemistry, and the tension between the characters. Rhett and Olivia are no exception, and their undeniable chemistry results in delicious spicy scenes that will forever live rent free in my mind. This definitely is Michaela's spiciest book so far... and I am here for it!

I GOT AN ARC OF MY MOST ANTICIPATED READ OF THE YEAR!!!!!!! Sunshine was my top read last year, it was one of the only books I was able to read while pregnant and I still think about it to this day. To say I missed Saddlebrook Falls is an understatement.
I haven’t read a classic good girl/bad boy romance in a while and I forgot how much they can hit. Olivia and Rhett had major chemistry and I was invested in their relationship from their first meeting. Also, the spice in this was excellent imo.
Much like Sunshine (even more so, I’d say), Peaches is so much more than a romance. Without getting spoilery, this book was devastating, swoony, funny, steamy, and action packed, all for different reasons. There are so many layers to the story and I HAD to know it ended, which is why I was able to finish in <48 hours despite it generally taking me longer to read these days with a 6 month old.
And can we talk about that ending?! I have so many questions and I’m literally chomping at the bit for the next book, the one after, and maybe another after that?? I hope each Bennett brother gets a book, because I obviously need Kasey and Brooks’ stories, and I have a feeling Sawyer is going to interest me more and more as this series goes on.
ANYWAY, I loved this so much

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

Olivia hasn't dated much and it seems every time she does, they are just assholes. And definitely not what she's looking for in a man. But, in walks Rhett. The bad boy, intimidating cowboy who can't keep his eyes off Olivia and unfortunately has to watch her date two different losers back-to-back. He comes to her defense when her latest date degrades her in his bar and at the end of the night Rhett offers to help her learn how to date. Slowly but surely do both Rhett and Olivia realize the fake dates aren't so fake after all. But will Rhett be able to keep himself out of trouble in the name of love?

I was really hoping that Rhett and Olivia were the ones to get married, iykyk. But it makes me even more excited for Kaseys story!!!

This was so good. Definitely lived up to the hype of the first book. This was such a good follow up and easily brought me to tears. The story was well rounded both in the individual lives of the characters but also in the lives of the main characters as a couple. I only docked half a star because I noticed some repetition but that is just personal preference. Overall love this book, absolutely obsessed with the series and am so excited for the next one. I already know it's going to be a good one.

Can't recommend this series enough for romance book lovers!

Thank you @michaelajeanbooks for allowing me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book!

Olivia has given up on love after her parent’s failed relationship, but after a while of feeling lonely, her best friend starts to set her up on random dates. Rhett happens to witness these failed attempts and offers his help. He realizes quickly that this arrangement might affect him more than he thought, and with a town that labels him as the bad boy and all of his family drama, he might bring more trouble than good to Olivia.

I read this book quite literally in a seating, and it immediately had me hooked. The way Rhett & Olivia officially meet, and their interaction was HILARIOUS! The banter in this was top tier, the teasing, the romance was so so swoony, and this was so binge worthy.

What you’ll experience:
🍑 sexual kinks
🍑 teach me moments
🍑 small town
🍑 bad boy x good girl
🍑 grief & trauma discussions
🍑 mental health rep
🍑 fake dating

Thank you so much Michaela for the ARC. I can’t wait to read Sunshine to catch up, and see who the next couple we’ll get it. ✨

I am a bit conflicted with this book, for I enjoyed the general plot but didn’t really believe the actual love story. I just didn’t believe these two fell as hard as they did, for they barely spent any real time together other than the initial dates and then when they were having sex. I just find it hard to believe when they actually fell in love and why. Even the initial lust was confusing to me for they knew of each other and then one night they randomly run into each other and all of a sudden they notice each other. We spent so much time talking about her wanting to go to the wedding and having a relationship with her dad/siblings and it was only in the very end that we get that scene. I wish that was more developed for it was interesting. Honestly I believed more the mom’s relationship than the MMCs. It was interesting to get more of the story of the brothers and not sure what will be the plot for Brooks, but that was heartbreaking. These definitely need to be read in order. I liked how she set up book 3 and will continue the series.

DEVOURED. That is what I did with this book. It was just so good. Anyone who knows me, knows that cowboy romance is my absolute favorite genre. I read any book I can get my hands on. So trust me when I say that the Saddlebrook Falls series is easily in my top 3.

Rhett and Olivia are absolutely perfect. The love, devotion, protectivenes, and sweetness for each other were just 🤌🏻 They both have their own insecurities and flaws to overcome, and that just makes them even more relatable.

This is the second book in the series and can be read as a standalone. But know this, there is an underlying story that weaves through the series, so I highly recommend starting at the beginning. And also.... these books are just that damn good, so you should just listen to me and start with Sunshine so you can dive into Peaches when it releases 😉

i loved this so much!!! saddlebrook falls has such a special place in my heart, i literally wish i could live there. The story of Rhett and Olivia is soooo good. the fake dating trope is gonna get me everytime!! i love the way that Rhett helps olivia be brave and face things that she may otherwise be scared to face, and i love the way he opens up to her and is able
to be vulnerable around her when he is usually more reserved and rugged. This book also has a bit of a mystery element towards the end, and it really shows you the duality of writing that michaela is capable of. This book is so good and i’m already sitting here waiting for the next book in the saddlebrook falls series!!!!

i enjoyed the suspense and action parts of this story - it wasn’t a lot of it, but it was sprinkled in enough that it kept this interesting. rhett was a really complex character and i enjoyed getting to know him, especially after hearing all about him in book 1. olivia bothered me a lot towards like 3/4 in but overall i did like her a lot. some of the romance felt a tad rushed but it was a good read!

There’s so much Rhett should be focusing on but the only thing on his mind is Olivia. If you love a bad boy meets good girl type of romance this is the one for you! Be warned it’s so much more then that though…

This book fed my love of the reformed, misunderstood bad boy trope, and I was here for it. I loved watching the romance unfold, but I found myself wanting a bit more plot around him winning over friends and family—that would have really rounded out his arc for me. Still, it was a fun, satisfying read that scratched that bad boy redemption itch.

Overall this book felt a little choppy. There were scenes I liked and pieces that were really well done but overall I felt like it didn’t really mesh together all that well.

The ending really picked up and that felt the best, but the first 3/4 of the book was really weird. I was thrown off by how this stranger just butted into this woman’s relationships and then was obsessed with her and dragged her into this confusing mess of stuff.

The whole thing felt rushed and there could’ve been more buildup - now I realize this is a second of an interconnected standalone and the author has said you DON’T need to read the first one to understand this one, but I wonder what pieces of information were introduced in that book that would’ve been helpful to know for this book.

I received this book as an ARC to review and I always feel guilty when I don’t rate ARCs well, but I feel I need to be honest and tell you that while this book was good, it’s really choppy.
