Elephant is a collection of poetry and short written while in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. They are all based on the author’s personal experiences, and the stories of the incredible, yet unfortunate souls who all have lost their ways to addiction, depression, PTSD, and other mental health issues. Each poem is exactly that, a poem. No names, except for the authors shall be known in this collection of work. These demons we carry with us are the elephants in the room. Whether it is home, work, or where ever else we carry our woes, the elephant is not far behind. If you are feeling hurt, damaged, abused, addicted, or having thoughts of harming yourself, there is help available. On the days when we feel the worst, picking up a phone and calling for help, or just someone to talk to you may seem impossible and like the phone weighs 1000 pounds, but I assure you, from experience, make the call.
