In Night of the Vengeance, the third instalment of the gripping series, the stakes have never been higher. The town of Hickory is once again plunged into terror as the legendary Dogman resurfaces, driven by a primal need for vengeance after her offspring is taken. Adam, Jerry, and Rick—survivors of the previous encounters—find themselves facing a new nightmare, one more terrifying and deadly than before. As they join forces with Sheriff Walters and a new ally, the fierce and determined Special Agent Nicole Beretti, the hunt for the Dogman becomes a desperate battle for survival.
The creature is more relentless, more cunning, and bent on destroying everything in its path as it searches for its stolen young. As the body count rises and fear grips the town, our heroes must confront the terrifying reality of an unstoppable force bent on destruction. Will they manage to stop the Dogman before it’s too late, or will the beast's thirst for vengeance and the drive to reclaim its offspring consume them all?
With heart-pounding action, chilling suspense, and unexpected twists, Vengeance is a must-read for fans of the series and newcomers alike. Prepare yourself for a journey into the heart of darkness—where the line between hunter and hunted blurs, and survival is the only option.
Luka T. Jacobs is an author with a passion for cryptids, particularly Sasquatch and Dogman. Originally hailing from Sydney, Australia, Luka now calls the picturesque Illawarra region of New South Wales home, where she resides with her partner and their cheeky little dog, Finnigan.
With a deep love for animals and a keen sense of adventure, Luka's fascination with the mysteries of the natural world fuels her storytelling. Drawing from her background in Graphic Design and Art, she brings a unique visual flair to her writing.
As an avid traveller and explorer of the unknown, Luka continues to seek inspiration from the wild and untamed corners of the world, eager to share her imaginative worlds with readers everywhere.
The trio, Jerry, Rick and Adam, are all on a mission to capture the dogman. The FBI has captured her offspring and is holding it captive in a secret location.
But nothing is secret to the dogman and she travels through the woods and fields and wherever she needs to go. She uses her sense of smell to get her son under her notice. She frees him from his enemies and kills a lot of the guards that try to stop her. It is chaos!
They break out and are now on their way back to the town of Hickory. The dogman is still stalking the trio, Adam, Rick and Jerry. She won’t stop until she has killed them. And with her son along, another dogman, she will be able to do twice the damage she has done before.
So look out! To Jerry, Adam and Rick. Who have a problem with this and need to step up to the challenge. Good news is they have someone to help them. She is an FBI Special Agent, Nicole Berreti. Beretti is a fantastic agent, well trained and knowledgeable and brave.
The author gives us four pages of information about Beretti. Who she is, where she is going and where does she come from. We are given information about her background from her birth, through her childhood and about her parents. We are given all the information about her work with the FBI and the special division that she works in.
The author gives us so much detail about her life so that we can get to know her and grow to love her character. Which is what I did. I was rooting for her and the trio, that they don’t get killed by the dogman. Which is ugly and dangerous.
The story on the whole was a good one. It was a well paced story and the other series were the same. The book was very interesting and fast to read. This is the way the chapters are arranged. I enjoyed the entire book and loved the ending very much. I got this.
I've read all books by this author and I've enjoyed everyone of them, some more than others. The Dogman-trilogy has been a real pleasure and this third installment was right what it was supposed to be. The previous characters are back to face the most dangerous challenge yet, a moma Dogman with a vengeance. Besides the characters we already know, we are introduced to a new one, one that I hope to see again in the future. I'll certainly be looking out for upcoming works by this author.
I was impressed, so many times a great series is ended so quickly and anti-climactically. Not the case here though, stayed dialed in the whole time and hated to put it down when I had to. But it was a good way to close out this chapter and hopefully potentially open a new one Ms. Jacobs?
The book was a great story and took a life of its own. The main antagonist and protagonists were all good 😊. However it took me too long to get back into it. Despite this, I loved being freaked out.
I really think the third book was better than book two. I raced to finish it and really felt much more invested in the storyline and the characters. I feel like the author was much bolder with the actions of the Dogman and had some surprises in store that just really worked. The introduction of new characters such as Berretti was a great addition as well.
To say I was eager to read this when the notification came up, is an understatement. I didn’t put it down. Action packed and finally, a woman who takes control and kicks some serious butt in the cryptid genre. 5-stars on this one, yet again! Looking forward to Beretti’s series.
I enjoyed this series immensely. I like the well developed characters, their background and the very scary monster!! The story grabs you from the beginning and drags you threw to the very end. Well worth the read. Enjoy being afraid, very afraid!!!
This story. Was interesting.I love reading about where will's Paranormal. You know dogman? It's sad.I think they got Em, but it makes you wonder what's gonna happen next series.I'm gonna have to read more
I enjoyed this one the most but I have a couple questions. The female dogman left her offspring with her pack/clan for safety so why did this one suddenly show up at the end of the second book? Did I miss an explanation somewhere? I assume Barry to drove to town (no mention of an airport) so why was she needing to be driven around when she first arrived? Editing was much better in this final book. Are there more following baretti and her continued assignments?
I'm quickly making my way through Luka T. Jacobs stories! I found my first on New Year's day and have already read 4 of them. Sasquatch Christmas Nightmare was my first and absolute favourite (it set the bar at 5 stars for me!).
I've given this book a 3 star rating just because I didn't feel like it was quite as good as the first in the dogman series, all of them have been fun little slasher reads but what mainly marked this one down for me were a few editing/ proof reading errors. I counted about 6 times that speech bubbles were missing or in the wrong place, a few around chapters 9 to 11 and a few later on around where the couple get attacked in the golf course.
There's also a moment where the sheriff answers his phone to Maria twice, answering "Yeah, Maria?" and immediately in the next line "Yes, Maria?" with nothing in-between the two lines.
Also when the two boys get attacked the Sheriff asks twice in quick succession how long ago the attack took place. The guy, Clyde I think, answers 45 minutes ago both times. While reading on kindle this was at the end of one page and the beginning of another and I genuinely thought my page had gone back instead of forward! haha
And lastly, again when the couple in the golf course are being attacked a line reads "a loud resounded in the air". when describing a noise.
Normally I don't notice a lot of editing things like this in books but these unfortunately took me out of the reading flow a little.
I appreciate this was self published though and it definitely doesn't put me off reading more, the slasher/ gore elements are really well written, I like that they have all been short and punchy and to the point. Great reads and I'm looking forward to reading more from Luka!

This whole series (books1-3) was a thrill ride, Luka definitely takes care of the reader. Some of the scenes read like a hack/slash film which in its own right fits perfect for such a villainous death-machine as the dogman. Some reading is a bit redundant and you can kinda tell its filler but honestly I have no substantial hang ups with these books, and I am SO THRILLED that Luka wrote a spin off for Nicole Beretti! Can't wait to pickup BLOOD & SPIRIT.
The ending has been totally worth it 😃. The end of the monsters was a intense series of actions and knowing that the characters were going to continue made reading this Awesome 😉. Thanks again Luka, I truly enjoyed reading this series and look forward to reading more by you 🤓.
Pretty good. Plenty of action. Not a lot of stupidity likes in a lot of these books with ridiculous groups that fight these things. Just decent fiction. Enjoyed the series not a bunch of over mochas just real people
It was so nice to read a book where the main characters lived; albeit having to fight for their lives and freedom from the horrors in the woods. Looking forward to more books like this from the author.
This story line was GREAT, right to the end. I loved it, from the beginning to the end! I wish there was a continuation. It kept me reading and reading.
Good ending to the Night of the Dogman series. We meet special agent Nicole Beretta who will make appearances in the next two books which take place in Wyoming and Maine. Both those books are good reads too.
The last in this series was incredible. Lots of scare and gore. Great buildup to the amazing finale. Very good lead in to the Nicole Berretti series. Throughly enjoyed this book. Very well written.
